This is what makes Ryan so likeable, the sincerity, even in the face of sarcastic humour. Grounded despite his wealth, which is a needle in a haystack on its own.
@@natetraff the problem with your statement is that you're defining everyone within a group as the same. He donates a high amount of money relative to his wealth and highlights issues which go unseen far more than the average multi millionaire. The world is disgustingly disproportionately divided by wealth, the super rich abuse their wealth and tend to offer little to nothing back to the communities they take from. But, that doesn't seem to be the case for some like Ryan Reynolds, who at least seem aware of their lives and relative existence. Just because he isn't giving all his wealth away entirely doesn't make that not so. I'm not saying 'poor him' or anything like that, this is about the character of a man. Which seems likeable to me and many others. If more rich people were like him, maybe the world wouldn't be affected by so few who are so insanely greedy seeking every penny they can get.
@@natetraff Dude. Spreading the word and getting thousands of people to donate does more good than one huge contribution. Plus he and Blake Lively finally millions to a wife range of causes. What are you doing to help?
Ryan Reynolds is the only person who can make adults voluntarily watch advertisements to the very last second, and even wish they were longer. He manages to touch the viewers' hearts. Donation is on its way.
He's got a great marketing strategy... Hats off to his innovative ideas! I watch all his adverts as they are quite interesting, whether it maybe for business or charity...
Sick kids saved my life as a child , gave my late partner who had CF 18 years of the best care and helped my son with his kidney and heart issues❤❤ This is such a wonderful hospital doing groundbreaking research to help kids with cystic fibrosis, cancer ..you name it.Ty Ryan for continuously fundraising for this hospital that saves so many lives❤❤❤❤❤ Please donate if you can and share this video on social media .
I love this video I saw you had a lot of likes and no comments I was hoping someone would donate to sick kids because I'm not love Ryan Reynolds though classic
*I was thinking, "I love that sweater and would love to have one...just to make others laugh" and then the kids says, "You looks stupid in that sweater" and I spit out my water, laughing. Thanks, Ryan. I adore your soul, sir, and your grounded, down to earth, sensitive, actually caring and genuine nature. I use humor and self deprecation as tension relievers as well.*
You know how you know when a celebrity is genuine? When they actually appear in a charity commercial instead of providing a voice-over against a white background. This man is a real angel 😇😇😇 Always a Fan Mr Reynolds and hug your furbabies all 💙🐱💙 Edit: The subtitles weren’t helpful in parts, thanks for helping me understand what Glasses Girl was saying!
This is by far my favourite advertisement from Ryan both because it's hilarious and because SickKids took care of me when I was younger, thank you Ryan for raising so much money and for lighting up that eyesore of a sweater outside the hospital.
Also... Ryan you giving the 'special thanks' to the staff and kids is one more reason to love you and your team... it's one of the few times I stopped and paid attention to the credits thank you.
Seeing Ryan Reynolds walk the same hallways my parents walked, and that I eventually walked when I was older brought emotions up in me I didn't know were there. Sick Kids saved my life, and I'm glad to see the realness in this.
Good job Ryan, Michael & the Sick Kids Team!!! Best fundraiser ad yet!! Hahaha! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 ❤❤❤ Sick Kids Hospital saved my eldest nephew. They have saved countless children belonging to friends, extended family members, coworkers and acquaintances. Even $2 can make a difference. Every cent counts!! Give enough for a cup of coffee and help save a child's life! THANK YOU SICK KIDS HOSPITAL TORONTO!! ❤❤❤ HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!
The best way to encourage people to help the unfortunate souls without making them look like a pitiful beings, but treating them like your fellow loved one. I applaud his genuine heart.
I am a nurse and this made me laugh and cry. Thank you so much Ryan, The holidays for sick kids is extremely tough on them anbd their parents. You're officially DadPool to me.
Damn. Never thought that a clever Comedy bit would ever make me actually follow through on the legit meaning/message lurking behind the laughs. But here we are, with Donation already sent. Well done, RR and the creative team who came up with the video.
Thank-you for helping to raise money for such a wonderful cause. We live in Ottawa, but my daughter's life was saved by our children's hospital. She was born with a rare genetic disorder and required multiple surgeries. These included a fundoplication, a gastrostomy tube, and a spinal fusion. She was followed by the Rett Syndrome Clinic at the children's hospital until she was in her 30's because of how specialized their care was. They are still actively searching for an answer about her exact disorder. She has a clinical diagnosis that does not match the genetic analysis. She was at the children's hospital a few weeks ago for the most recent blood draw.
BUBLÉ!!!!!!! AND RYAN???? IN THE SAME AD???? Dreams CAN come true! 😍😍😍 Don't know if I can donate from Europe, but I've never wished to be able to donate my money more.
The kids in the promo are amazingly awesome!! Love how they upstage the pros. This is such an ingenious way to bring attention to supporting all those little ones and their illnesses, as well as the tireless work of the staff at Sick Kids. Bravo to all who were involved in producing the video.❤️
This was going to be a snarky comment on how Ryan should have done a commercial for BC Children's Hospital since he grew up in the Vancouver area, buuuuut I'll take this. 😉 In all seriousness, even though I'm not a parent, I sincerely hope that every single parent or guardian with children in the hospital gets to have a calm and quiet holiday with their beloved children. To those who choose to donate, thank you. You make it suck less for children to be in hospital. To everyone who starred in this video, thank you for your time and your willingness to participate. You were great. And to Ryan? Thank you for your...iconic, shall we say, sense of humour. I appreciate that you have chosen to give of your time and skills to an organization like Sick Kids. 😊 PS: are those hideous sweaters back on sale? I want two.
Just seeing those hallways makes me verklempt. From age 2.5, our daughter spent 3+ years on chemo on the 8th floor. We still donate yearly and are grateful beyond measure to Ryan and all who champion these kids and families. Our own “sick kid” is now a healthy, happy, beautiful, brilliant newlywed who secures funding for chemo patients 😊 Being “seen” means the world to Sick Kids families.
As usual Ryan …..you rocked the sweater!!! Austin and Michael need one!!! I am a retired Toronto Police officer and my Daughter in law is on staff at sick kids. We greatly appreciate your efforts and contributions. God bless you along with Austin and Michael. PS…can the sweater be ordered online?
Michael Buble is such a champ for popping in just to have Ayla throw a stuffed rabbit at him lol. Someone PLEASE tell me she was shouting "I WANTED ANNE MURRAY!" and not "I WANTED ANNE-MARIE!"?
Ayla Tahir was excellent!!!!! All the kids and doctors were, but she cracked me up. 🤣😅😂 Definitely have to donate. Also, why does Ryan actually look good in that Christmas sweater?!! 😯 You're Not Supposed To Look Good In Those!!! 😠
After spending most of my son's life at SickKids I feel so lucky to be able to have his first Christmas at home with us. I can't say enough about the hospital and all its staff. They saved his life a few times over and took such good care of all of us. I sincerely hope to never see them again, and I love them so much. We were so lucky to be in such good hands.
Sick kids saved my life when I was 7 years old... Obviously I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. That was over 50 years ago... My dad donated every year because of that and I have continued the tradition.
You're right. Kids are Di¢ks! But when they're so sick they can't be that way it's heart breaking! I don't have money to spare because I am on disability leave but I'll send my prayers. Thank you guys for standing up for the little Di¢ks and taking time to make this commercial.
Whoever’s reading this, i pray that whatever you’re going’s through gets better and whatever you’re struggling with or worrying bout is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen 💜
I feel like this campaign with returnees Ryan, Austin and new recruit Michael buble is like 1 Keanu reeves cameo short of being Canadiana overload.... and i love it
I wish I was a billionaire so I could invest all the money in sick kids, clean water, and housing and food For all initiative. And something I like to call “all the cool gizmos for the kids and their parents” for low income families.
My favorite Michael Bublé memory was watching him years ago on the CBC new years special. He was drunk by my best guess, but having a great time with George Strombonopolis and singing in the CBC studio 🙂 good times.
This commercial made me laugh (although I wouldn’t have used the ‘p’ word...not appropriate). Congratulations to all the ‘kid stars’ who were so amazing and to our beloved Ryan, Michael and Auston. You all rock!❤ ❤️Sick Kids Hospital!!
