So pleased you enjoyed your time in Donny. The home of some of the greatest steam locomotives in the world. Your video was excellent, super commentary too. What made it for me though, was "Dorset Knobs" - I spotted your tin. The worlds greatest biscuit.

I'm 15 now, but when I turn 21, I'm moving to the UK from Australia, and buying a brand new narrowboat. For some absurd reason I've planned the layout and all the specs for my boat.

Brilliant. To be fair I find it hard to decide who leads between three of the greats, David Johns of Cruising the Cut fame and, Travelling with Jono. David Johns is definitely a conservative type journalist. The canals were waiting for him to come along. Then there is Travelling with Jono who is a true genius when it comes to explaining the complexities of the boat building process. He leaves nothing out. And will go the mile to ensure we get to understand him, and, don't we all love that dog? As for you, you are pure street with a gift to communicate with everyone. You're a gifted speaker who manages to show everything a town has to offer. Your gift is in making us believe we are there with you.

Love to see that you enjoyed Doncaster! Cask Corner isn't there anymore which is a crying shame, and the pandemic left the town centre feeling empty, but if you ever find yourself here again I'd love to buy you a pint! Nice to see positive things about Doncaster for once :)!

Copley road in Donny used to be full of music shops but there’s only a few now. If you like vintage guitars you must visit Old Hat in Horncastle. (Don’t know if there’s a canal) it’s full of old, original stuff that you can try or just look at. Hours of Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Hofner, Vox and Marshall fun.

Well, just one actually. A few sad excuses for music shops have been and gone. I remember the early ‘70s. Wilsic Electronics and Dodds. Even the smackhead hookers have fucked it off.

The thing I'm mostly commenting about is OMG, OMG, OMG I have that same Moores Dorset Knobs Biscuits tin that's in your background. I don't know why I got so happy at seeing it, but I couldn't keep my eyes off it once I'd noticed. Strange how the mind works. Also, glad to see you out and about and posting again. Hope you manage to resolve all your mechanical issues and that you'll soon be ship-shape and dry.

Robbie, I am the pub landlord at Sprotbrough and i have a bone to pick ......... just kidding. I sometimes think that am too old for your videos, but there is no doubt that you camerawork and editing are very creative and great to watch, whether you are cruising the canals or the pubs.

Robbie Cumming ...head up to our neck of the woods . I'll show you some reyt real ale pubs and teach you the accent. You could moor in Huddersfield and not have to do the Narrow ...the Broad is quite easy going.

No it fucking wouldn’t have. You’d have been robbed, set upon by vicious dogs , and wish you’d never been born. If you’d sat around somewhere near The Boat Inn , you’d have seen where Robert Louis Stevenson wrote ‘ Ivanhoe’. The travellers’ site has gone now , thank heavens. I have been wanting to let you know that your boat would sound a lot better if you could find a way to isolate the microphone from your hull. Checking the rubber in your motor mounts couldn't hurt either.

Thanks Ted but I expect the problem might simply be that some people hate the sound and others (like me) just love it! It's real, and that's what these vlogs are about! I also ripped out most of the sound proofing that the previous owner had installed around the engine - air is more important than sound here! Thanks for taking the time to offer suggestions though, much appreciated!

I hear you, I just wanted to point out my observation, I had noticed that there was a lot less engine noise when you were hand held than when you were camera on hull. As for the noise level, you are running an older two cylinder diesel so I would expect it to clack, as long as you are keeping up with the servicing you should be fine. I'm sure your mechanic told you how often you need to get the valves adjusted, or you can find that information in a manual someplace, just follow that and you shouldn't have to worry about the percussion section in your engine room.

Spiral Creation Doncaster council have no idea, they have spent the last few decades gradually destroying the town centre. I lived in Bawtry for almost 30 years, doncaster has been dying a slow death for the last 20. Have you seen the new council offices? Bleak, windswept and looks like it was designed by fisher price. The few nice buildings have been left to rot- the girls high school, elmfield house- the council should be ashamed of themselves. I left for Leeds then London and will never return. The local thugs are welcome to it.
