was great to see rex on gateway and cant wait till we get our hands on it everything shown is from dondi stream on twitch so go make sure to head over there / thedondi
@@Father_Allosaurus not likely but having it at least be plausible is good enough for the Isle to me because the game isn't going for absolute realism. As long as it's not the ridiculous 30 to 33 mph Rex from legacy I'm fine.
@@extraordinarytv5451 well remembering that teno is the slowest of the all the fast things atm...and its going 50km an hour at least...rex didnt look too fast here but it looks stego would be caught pretty easily and depending on how fast they want to make dibble should be a fine amount of speed for something so large with its leg structure
@@TetrixTheFirst Newer estimates show rex ran to the maximum 15 mph, so your literally giving out heavily false info by literally tripling the original speed, crazy.
Fr, at the speed this is developing someones just gonna make a decent play as dino mod in ark survival ascended and were gonna have our Isle game with dinos xD
They just released gateway, no new dinos, and my personally most hyped thing, physics based foliage they also didnt add. So a new map and migration. Woooow. Cant even make plants move when players touch em... im giving up on this game ngl
oh man you havent played it at all?! Man Its Great 20$ i belive worth it rn, You have legacy and Evirma , legacy has more playables and a modding community. Ive played enough evirma for myself i got hours from it but its selfed till the next update and thats how its been for me i get some good hours of entertainment each update for a few weeks, so you wait too long im sure the price will go up
I'm a little torn on the new animations, the run for one actually looks really quite powerful which i like for the house on legs that is Rex, however the walk looks super weightless and almost, bouncy? which is really unappealing for an eight tonne animal. Also the speed of 45 kilometres per hour is certainly... something, legacy's 33 Kilometres per hour rex was not only a much more accurate speed (which I'm aware the isle isn't necessarily going for) but just felt more grounded. running around as a rex felt like I was exerting tremendous effort and in return moving as fast as physically possible, whereas here it looks like the Rex is just going for a jog. Balance-wise I'm actually less concerned, I'm sure Adult Rex will have terrible stam to compensate. On a less critical note, I'm hopeful high speeds in adulthood translates to REALLY high speeds as a juvenile or sub-adult which would be Accurate to real life, flesh out the world and make playing Rex waaaay more fun.
I agree I feel like the fast speed should also still have a lot of that weight or partially focusing on the slow in slow out parts of the rex’s feet colliding with the ground as it pushes off, the animation feels a little too light personally I hope once it drops I feel differently but it still looks as though it moves a bit to light at times.
I think the upper legs are fine, I think the problem is how the lower leg/feet look dainty kinda bounce-back like a spring. Like that thigh’s got some meat on it, you’d think the feet/lower leg would be meatier and take a second to raise up. It just “pops” back like it’s not hauling a 6-ton death machine.
@@angerskarin9222 not everyone can afford a NASA super computer that runs every single game in existence at 200fps on cinematic settings. But good for you my friend. I myself am perfectly content with my pc running evrima at 60-65fps with the occasional drop to 50fps.
Brother said he’s getting 25fps a dev should probably have the best hardware to make sure the game can be played and designed on a stable platform or atleast give themself the best opportunity to do the best job.😂🤣😂 no joke I play this game maxed out in 4k at 200fps.
@@DevinBidwell i want you to imagine something really quickly...go bite someone...see how much damage you can do...now that you've done that go get a bat and put 10cm nails into and swing it REAL hard into someone...tell me which does more damage...sure rex has a big bite and crocs cover more surface area with theirs...but stegosaurus is using meter long spikes and thrusting them at over 100kmph...not only are the spikes going to inflict severe damage to the skin but due to their length going to pierce who knows how many organs...now tell me between rex or stego who is going to be the more dangerous target...and at the minute the biggest thing on land other than stego is teno and carno...which are several tons lighter than stego to begin with...stego should be op no matter how you slice it...herbivores in general are more op than their predators...they just dont go around looking to kill things
@@rexy132 But t rex can strike way faster mouth is easier to use than a tail.. probably since its in front of you and dont forget about the bone crushing bite force.I disagree with herbivores being more op, almost every smart animal i heard about eats meat.Herbivores are just not the brightest ones when it comes to school they just have strenght.
So what would you say should be the best dino? A utah? A carno? A stego? Other than maybe the giga and spino which I dont know if they'd even be in this, are comparable in strength
@@JustFun-tv5er None, all of them should have their pro and cons, rex cant be the faster and strongest or it make every things else useless to play, its basic balance, a rex should only go for slow dinos that are its size, not try to wipe the island clean like people did in legacy.
Model/animations look a little off. Looks like a scaled up version of a utah (the backside, at least) and runs like it weighs a lot less than it should. Hope they fix it but knowing the current devs they won't see a problem with it since all of their dinos have a weird movement look.
Why's it run so damn fast??? Cant assride it, which I'm glad is a thing of the past, but how are you suppose to get away if you can't kill it? Their stam better be booty.
I Think Rex should be faster depending on his hunger, if its low and he's skinny he should be faster and deal less dammage but if he's well fed and bulky he should be slower and stronger. That'd be fun.
In real life Rex would of never been able to run, it would break its legs. I wouldn't expect them to remove the run but I'm surprised they made rex be able to run this fast and look so bouncy...
They didn't run, they walked fast. Rex has so much mass in their body if they were to "gallop" how other dinos did, their legs couldn't support it. @@jnightmare2386
They should just make it rediculously hard to grow, so only those who are truly determined make it to adulthood. Becoming an adult rex should be a real accomplishment, to the point that only a few adult rex ever exist at a time by the very nature of how difficult it is to grow the creature.
@@gyphinix1658uh yeah i would rather not, real life populations didnt only have 3 of one species..that would make them nearly extinct not only if we looked realistically speaking but also annoying game wise considering how often you die. It would just make it not worth it to play at all.
@@tad4364 Real life populations also don't have artificial caps on population. They have natural limiting factors, which is what I was talking about. I would still consider it worth playing. The challenge would make it that much more appealing honestly... I think we just have different mindsets.
what balance? the rex will just kill every things in sight the moment its full grown with nothing to stop it, they will do the same mistake of making it the best.
sorry but... its a fckng apex xD its the definition of it. The game is funier if u play small or medium dinos and u are wlaking outther knowing that u are not the strong by far. IU wish they made apex like the deino or stego, when adult thei can ignore most of the other small dinos casue they casue no dmg at all, cause is normal. But if is pack attacking, we can talk aobut it, but 4 carnos or a buncch of omniraptor, they need to be smart and skill in evrima, but the rex only need one bite to drop a body. =/ life is hard. its just my opinion, but we need all kind of dinos to fill all the nitches, u cant have a dino game without the bigger ones xD
@@JMCV07 There a difference between, not being the strongest but being about to survive, and oh there a trex I guess i should just die because its faster and stronger then every one.
idk what ur bumbling on about but it doesn't really have anything to do with my comment dude. people didn't like the bonebreak mechanic because rex was the ONLY playable to have such a feature. it was boring, unbalanced, and predictable to play against. my issue is if they add another bullshit 'mechanic' like bone break to evrima. my problem isnt that rex shouldnt be 'apex', my problem that rex shouldnt be free: it should still take skill like every other playable rather than be carried by an OP mechanic.@@JMCV07
@@ultrayoda1966 Legacy’s Trex was already too fast. It is objectively one of the most OP creatures in game. To the point that other apexes couldn’t stand up to it, a giga is dead if it got spotted by a Trex. While yes realistically a rex is capable to kill a giga or a spino, but it isn’t a documentary. It is a video game that should remain balanced. When Rex can easily top any other apex and can outrun any mid tier with ease the game becomes unbalanced. Especially if rex gets bone break ability. All of this can be fixed by making Rex slower, so it is still capable of hunting large herbivores like trikes and stegos, but isn’t capable of running around wiping half of the server’s population.
@@enfieldlammergeierlots of legacys creature where op like utah for example..no single utah should be able to kill a nearly full grown spino. Givin how evrima is going so far i doubt and at least hope rex will be relatively balanced to other counterparts.
everything moves fast in this game so they balance it around fast. many agree the old rex mas mediocre and seeing how bad food is in evrima if the rex was slow it would starve 90% of the time. you have to realise they want there to be a fun aspect to the game not just realism and boredom for the "ik whats best in terms of balancing" community
@@KendooXD The isle is and does aim to be realistic, but not accurate. There is a difference and i don't personally think the game not being accurate is a bad thing
@@Dynosaurus_rex Isle being more realistic is what my comment is about?! Where did anyone mention it being accurate? Because Isle certainly isn't. And all I said was it being more realistic than other games, not realistic in the sense of everything being 1 to 1 as we think of it happened irl, but including features like the diet system, gore system, things that other games in it's genre are missing..
For the sake of gameplay, you have to make rex fast, otherwise, having it be as slow as it was in RL would be a drag (modern estimates are really slow)
@@AvengedPanzer Modern estimates have it running at 10 to 25 miles per hour (25 being an extreme point already) anything more would have broken it´s legs.
“For the sake of gameplay, you have to make Rex fast” Ummm why? It’s prey was large, slower, armored herbivores. A real T’rex didn’t need to run 40mph when it’s prey weighed around 8-10 tons and fed it for weeks. Adult Rexes were ambush hunters that relied on their bite to end the hunt quickly, if their prey saw it coming they could just run away and be safe until it tried again or stand and fight if it was confident enough. Juvenile Rexes were sleek and fast, so they could hunt smaller, faster prey like Ornithomimids or smaller ceratopsids. Make the T’rex get slower but bulkier as it ages, ya know like the ACTUAL animal. What would be the point in playing smaller but faster carnivores like Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Ceratosaurus, Utahraptor, etc if a Trex could be just as fast, if not faster? Everyone would just play Rex, ya know like in Legacy, where there were 50+ Rexes on a server because everyone wanted to be the speedy doom machine. It’s bad game design. It’s what Evrima, for all it’s faults, is trying to fix, because in Legacy there were no roles or niches in an “ecosystem”, it was just “which Dino is better to kill with?” The answer being “Rex”. I’m not even saying the Rex has to be comically slow like a slug or turtle, but they should be slower than the majority of their prey, including smaller carnivores. They should have a good trot speed and quick ambush, but burn through stamina when running.
How about fixing the actual game before even adding more Op and unbalanced shit ? Not even legacy working, official servers are not playable like with is this ? Filled up with hackers also , stego will soon mixpack with rexes obviously. Game getting only more and more frustrating. Was fun but it is always the same shit, ppl behave like the assholes they´re and it is ruining the fun for others. so i let the assholes be assholes and comapare themselves to other small egos
hate to break it to you my guy but legacy has abandoned so why u are complaining about it is beyond me XD also sounds like playing on any community server would fix most of the problems you have listed but let me guess u are too stubborn to go play on them?
@@ultrayoda1966 lol as if evrima is running OK my guy xD hope ypu love it playing @ 60fps lol. If the community have to fix everything by themselves then make the code open source and fuck off. This „ohj he is developing it alone böah blah blah“ boy the game costs 20€ and have sold a good amount of copies. Noone is forcing him to progamm it alone. And community servers are even worse by the behavior of players but i guess you’re a mixpacking noob yourself and too stubborn or nooby to play fair.
