This went from fighting a bunch of tikies that play instruments and shit whit an epic overlord to fighting a skyrim looking guy as a final boss now that's what I call a game series
@@triplecrosscounter to be fair those kongs were being constroled by cactus kong and the main villain (i honestly forgot his name , because hes such a forgettable final boss)
I’m not ashamed to say that I absolutely LOVED fighting pompy! The music was just fantastic, and his tricks were so cool to watch. Very impressive for the first boss of the whole game.
@@ShinyPro7 Well, many would expect him to sound like an evil squealy annoying voice villain, like one that is arrogant and has an annoying laugh, but that voice is Jotaro levels of depth
I love how Lord Frederik has a tantrum each time he gets hit, we saw him as this mysterious somewhat intimidating foe to the Kongs, but through this fight. I saw him as a foe that earned his way to the top, but not worthy of actually leading his army. Kudos to retro to giving the characters so much personality for what the game is.
Im so sad we never got another donkey Kong country game. The original DK country was one of the first games I ever played as a kid and it breaks my heart to hear that we may never see this series return again.
@@winvyrenRare didn't give DK to Nintendo. Nintendo let Rare make games for the franchise, so Nintendo owns everything Rare made for Donkey Kong aside from most of the racers in Diddy Kong Racing.
They are remaking Returns...for the second time. It's basically a port of the 3DS version for the Switch. So there is still hope for Donkey Kong Country I think. Since Tropical Freeze and soon to be Returns will be both on the Switch. Not to mention there is Mario Vs Donkey Kong remade for the Switch too. So DK is still relevant.
BloodStalker 500 Yup, and keep in mind DK is apparently almost 9 feet tall. He's HUGE for a Gorilla and Human alike. And Pompy and the rest of the Elite Snowmads are much larger than even that. Lord Fredrick must either have gifted them with unreal strength and size, or they are the very top of their respective species.
The one gripe I have about Tropical Freeze boss fights is that the audiences are just not half as hype as the audiences in Returns. Beyond that, these are stellar fights.
Looked it up and Pompy is actually a sea lion, not a seal common misconception. They do look alike but, seals are smaller whereas sea lions are bigger.
I think Tropical Freeze has one of the best bosses of the entire Donkey Kong series period. Amazing boss themes, great and massive variety of attacks and quite memorable designs. Also I love how each boss needs 9 hits to defeat. This was a great choice of the developers to give the fights the time they needed. Not too short (like Super Mario Bros. Koopaling battles) or way too long.
I love how the characters are always like “alright let’s rumble”, like Diddy does this little fisticuffs “put em up put em up” thing lmao. Like they actually want to kick the boss’s ass
Call me basic, but my favorite boss in this collection has to be the Seal, I just love how dynamic his movements are and it's really pleasing to watch Then again I have a slight bias to ocean themed stuff, but the seal is the best imo
15:41 So he got mad just by losing his popiscle and it looked like the piranhas wasn't even eating it cause they jumped over it and somehow it was gone 😂
One thing that I consider a nice touch regarding Bashmaster's fight is how his fur gradually starts turning purple from his feet and paws upwards due to the repeated dunkings in the Punch Bowl
I liked him a lot, but he’s my second favorite. And I know if I tell you my favorite is the puffer fish you will tear me limb from limb, so I am not gonna tell you.
@@WRILLI4M To be honest, I feel like it’s about preference. I feel like everyone know how to utilize one character really well. I could be wrong because I suck at this game tho
You haven't seen hard until you've unlocked this game's Hard Mode. No checkpoints, no inventory items, and only one heart, it's an insanely difficult mode that will definitely test your patience on the harder levels and boss fights.
In Punch Bowl, Bashmaster angrily growls when his body is coated purple from the punch river except for his head. The battle begins with a cinematic that the Kong’s land onto a giant glacier island floating on a river of purple fruit punch and angered the giant polar bear but they knocked his popsicle into the punch and got devoured by the piranhas. After defeating the polar bear, mash the Y and X buttons together to beat him up in the face then send him flying out of the stage.
00:00 *Vs Pompy, the Presumptuous* This slippery sea lion wants to put on a show DK and co. soon won't forget! He seems kind of obsessed with being flashy while attacking. Maybe that's your chance to hit him with all you've got! Watch out for the enemies he tosses onto the arena! 03:31 *Vs Skowl, the Startling* This owl learned ice magics from Lord Frederik himself! He's also pretty adept at throwing his own feathers, too! Does anyone else think that the fact he summons baby owls out of thin air is a bit weird? No? Just me then? Okay... 07:55 *Vs Ba-Boom, the Boisterous* Which one is the real Ba-Boom?! Doesn't matter, he stole bananas from DK! They sure like showing off their...er...posteriors. Some of their attacks remind one of a *certain hedgehog!* Try not to stomp these guys when they're holding bombs! Maybe you can even turn the tables against them... 11:53 *Vs. Fugu, the Frightening* This guy is way faster than he looks! He can inflate to massive size and drive you into the spikes at the edge of the arena! Apparently, his thorns are venomous, but that doesn't bother DK one bit! Try not to run out of air! 15:16 *Vs Bashmaster, the Unbreakable* Poor Bashmaster. All he wanted was an ice pop. I'm starting to wonder if the Kongs are really the good guys here. 19:55 *Vs Lord Frederik, The Snowmad King* Rather ironic that the lord of ice would be fought within Donkey Kong Island's own volcano, isn't it? But it doesn't matter where the battle is fought, DK and his buddies will win no matter what!
24:53 well done, thanks to you, the villains have being stopped and tropical island and power has being restored, but this is not the end, your adventure with donkey Kong country and tropical freeze is only just beginning
Country 1: basic bosses Country 2: pirate theme Country 3: mad scientist theme Country Returns: basic and tiki theme Country Tropical Freeze: Artic theme
This Guy They probably were searhing for a frozen island, but ended up growing desperate and attacked the first island they encountered that they could inhabit. That island, evidently, was DK Island. And the decision to try to invade it was also, evidently, a very poor one.
