This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the SNES game Donkey Kong Country.
Firstly, let me say I'm pretty sure I collect all the letters in each stage, though you'll notice that sometimes I end a stage looking like I missed a K or an O. It seems the reason that happened is because after collecting a letter, before I get to a checkpoint barrel, I happen to collect an animal token which takes me to a bonus stage. After the bonus stage, I restart the level, and the letter is then missing. I noticed this doesn't happen when I go into a bonus stage after hitting a checkpoint.
And it was almost a perfect run, but I did lose a monkey a few times...
I remember a loooooong time ago, I had received a promotional VHS tape from Nintendo showing off this game. At the time I thought it was freaking amazing (I still do...A shame what happened to Rare though...Tsk tsk...) Needless to say, I've been playing this game for quite some time....

RIP Jeremy. These are excellent play through videos. No talking. No text comments. Just pure unadulterated gameplay. I love these old SNES games, my brother and I would enjoy many a late weekend and summer vacation nights playing these well until the sky started to get light out. We would have to turn it way down to mute in the playroom and even put a blanket under the door crack so that even the light of the TV wouldn’t let our parents or our other siblings know what we were doing. We even stuffed pillows in our beds to make it look like we were sleeping.

Words cannot explain the nostalgia I'm getting right now! Hearing those tunes..hours spent watching my younger brother retry level after level over weeks on end.. Never giving up and always succeeding...rarely letting me have a try lol The underwater music always relaxed me so much. Games like this are diamonds. They are so special to our culture. Seriously. Those were good times... at least at home part. I can't say the same for my school days. Bulling was horrible back then. Kids today have no idea what real bulling was... being pushed down stairs, stabbed with compasses, stampeded over, the list goes on. Home life though was better.

My ex girlfriend had this on her SNES, and her and I worked opposite shifts; I'd end up crashing at her place, and play this all day long while she was at work, and when I *should* have sleeping, readying for my night shift. MAN, I was HOOKED on this game. Everything about this game is damn near flawless.

jwathas 90s games were amazing, now all they make is incomplete games and forcing people to buy DLC's. Back then you paid once and got a full game. I still have my SNES console and some of the games left, still to this day I play on them. Nothing can beats the 90s, that was the golden age for Rareware. Now Microsoft killed Rareware, the company that gave us Donkey Kong Country series, Banjo Kazooie series and etc. :(

jwathas This is why I hate Microsoft now too, they literally destroyed the legacy of Rareware and Nintendo. They killed Banjo Kazooie as well, one of the greatest titles on the Nintendo 64. This is also the reason why Nintendo didn't get any more Banjo Kazooie games. However Microsoft tried to create one and they humiliated that title with Nuts and Bolts :( If Rareware would be with Nintendo and all rights reserved, Nintendo would be able to continue giving us those great games. For Microsoft to interfere in Nintendo's business and pull out games from the eShop is a low blow. Those games were originally only available on Nintendo, so Nintendo should have all the rights to keep them, but sadly Microsoft only sees money so they have to ruin it somehow.

jwathas LOL, I feel the same about the new Donkey Kong games. Somehow Donkey Kong is more awesome with K-Rool in it as the boss. However when I heard that Aquatic Ambience music on Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, I had a flashback of the 90s, the nostalgia level was out of the roof :) Nothing can beat the 90s

Cleaned out my house and found my SNES and Donkey Kong Country still in perfect condition. I'm neaaring 30 now and don't really have time to play games and decided to randomly RU-vid DKC Gameplay. This reminded me of my childhood so bad not a care in the world. the 90s what a time. ..Now that I see that the gamer of this channel passed away.. I shed a tear from the remembrance video... I haven't played this game in about 15yrs. Probably since I was about 7yrs old, now 21. I still remember every bit of this. I knew everything that was coming next. I knew the soundtrack too. I can still remember when my Dad picked me up from my friend's house, and surprised me with Donkey Kong Country for SNES which he picked up from 'Cheapot Depot'. Also my mom made me go with my sister when she went Babysitting one time... I thought I would hate it, but the kid had Super Nintendo and DKC so we just hung out and played the game all night until their parents came home and we got picked up.

Amazing memories. My cousin and I used to play this for hours, until we had blisters on our thumbs. Her favorite level was Mine Cart Carnage which she could play upside down. She was killed when she was 13 and I didn't play this game for years. I've now introduced my kids to it and they love it too.

Just had the urge to watch this. My Dad and brother loved this game so much. I could only play the first couple of stages. I was never good at playing platformers haha. I always thought the banana trees in the first level had eyes on them. The shine on the leaves look like eyes to me.

Oh, man. This was much more than just a game. This was something that was perfect at the perfect time during the 90s. I remember when my friend first got this game and there were about 8 of us huddled around his tv all taking turns in just complete awe. I applaud Nintendo for creating something so incredibly magical. The nostalgia this brings is priceless. Today's kids will never get to experience this magical time, unfortunately, but I'm glad I did! I wouldn't trade those times and memories for anything.

This game is so good it's unbelievable the soundtrack is epic each level has a song that fits perfectly it fits the atmosphere of the game and draws you in to its environment and pace of the level it shows how better graphics don't always make a better game this game is one of my all time favorites

Omg, the part with the rail carts was wicked difficult. I remember having a really hard time there, as a small kid though. But this guy, plays it without any effort. Damn, the memories...

I love this game series. Very fun to play and to go back to playing again. I recall that the parts featuring the carts, my siblings would always give me the controller. Apparently I have better hand-eye coordination when it came to this part of the game.

This will help me get through the game. I don't usually use walkthroughs unless im just really stumped. I typically don't give up in a game until i get through a challenging section of the game. I don't like to be defeated. This game is a classic and ill never get tired of playing it. Subbed.

wow you really do bring back a lot of memories from the days b4 I owned my own computer haha... I feasted off these games.. Super Mario, Donkey Kong Country 1 2 3... umm... Street Fighter... Aladdin... Lion King... ahh... what else...? I forgot lol It's been so long... I think it was 1994? maybe... I loved these games. But sadly back then I couldn't get past many levels... I always got stuck. It was when I replayed the games in around 2002 or so did I manage to beat these three games without much trouble but I always lost a few lives in certain places. This is another one of my old favorites. I played and worked together with friends and they learned from me as I learned from them... we did Team. I still remember some of the secrets but not all of it.

The ocean stages were the best in my opinion..The music is so relaxing...even at old 44 years of age amazing music. When I was young I wouldn't continue playing I would get to the ocean stage and just listen to the relaxing music.

Sirejester115 wow you’re so right i’m sitting here watching this while i wait for apex legends to update and it’s taking alllll day haha but man this game brings back so many memories from when i was 5-7yrs old i’m 27 now and my brother (rip) would always play and never let me play haha only every once n a while but watching him play was some of the best memories looking back now as a child i really felt like i was in the game idk the nostalgia is hitting hard i guess the music during the under water level is great it’s relaxing something i can meditate to lol

I'm 45 now, but, say around 30 years ago this game was basically my whole life. Oh the memories! Sitting in my room with friends dropping by for a quick *blip* as we called gameplay back then. Sometimes we wouldn't speak for hours on end. All you could hear was the click of the buttons on the controller. Haha! I miss those days.
