My daughter and i went to a country craft show a few weeks ago here in Australia. There was also a great quilt display from people in the region. My daughter fell in love with a diamond quilt. After searching, Donna's yt video came up and now I am in the middle of making the quilt with fabrics from my 90's stash. Blocks are done, hoping to sew them together by end of the week. The instruction with the pattern are great. Thank you.
I learn something new, refine a skill, and get inspiration from every one of your tutorials. I love the pace and how clearly you explain the steps. Thank you! This quilt looks beautiful!
This is my first Jordan Fabrics viewing. I love the instruction, narration, pace, angles, tips-as- you-go (and kudos to camera person and editor!). This is great!
Donna you have a wonderful fabric panel on your website =- Bernatex Metallic Cat 2 purrfect cats - 755112. Would you please make a quilt using it as a central panel on the quilt. I would love to use this for a quilt for my grown daughter who is busy rescuing strays and even a grey ferral cat that comes to her house daily for food and sleeps on her outdoor chair but will not allow her to touch him. He hisses and snarls despite being fed warm milk and food daily for 2 years. Sorry, didnt mean to write a book but I would love to see the panel made up into a quilt. Its so lively and inspirational. Many thanks
You have the best camera work on your videos. Kudos to the camera person! You explain things so well. I have learned so much from your videos and tutorials. Your printed patterns are also very well written. I enjoy all your have to offer, especially your sales!!!
This was like magic! Wow! A friend is having a baby soon. I could see making the light background in a cloud-like fabric and doing something whimsical to make the diamonds look like kites.
Give your cameraman/camerawoman a raise, they are the best in showing us your tutorial. Also, you are the very best in all your directions and patterns. I guess I will have to plan a trip to Oregon to visit your store!
Happybidr does DC have any good quilt store? I am there from time to time. In my small town in WA we have a very nice quilt shop, but I only dabble , I am more of a garment sewer.
Your tips and tricks are amazing along with all the fabric I have ordered from your business. Packaging, quality quality control is perfection. Wish I lived closer.
Lived the quilt, luv your videos. My first thought when you made the cornerstones was if you would have cut the layer cake at 2 inches instead of one on each side you would have had the two inch squares to use in the cornerstones. Keep the videos coming luv them.
Hello, I am A Total New Beginner to Quilting 😋 in fact only seen My First Scrappy 8" Blocks today 💕 You are such a wonderful teacher & make everything simple with your instructions 💜 this is a great Quilt to aim for, thank you 😁 Erica x
Ms. Jordan your channel is a God send! I am making my second quilt after finishing the first for a Christmas gift. Watching your clear tutorials instills a lot of confidence in me as a newbie sewist and quilter, thank you!
I've watch many times your tutorials, its very cheers me up when looks all amazing colours set it up, it always gorgeous. Makes me wants to be a quilt maker, and I already start it with the little source (pillow cover, placemats) even thought I'm also have 2-3 pieces the large source since 5 years ago (and not yet finish due to my working hours as an employee)...... Dona you did a wonderfull tutorial, very technically and not to much talking that not necessary so that really inspire, thank you (the cameraman also do the great job, it helps to see more details, thank you). Now talking about the giveaway, I do really want the have one. You guys makes me more fall inlove with quilting.
I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THESE TUTORIALS FROM Ms DONNA FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS, I THINK SHE IS AMAZING, I LOVE YOUR QUILTING SKILLS, GREAT TALENT YOU MAKE THIS LOOK SO EASY AND INTERESTING, GOOD JOB
Came back 10 months later for another look at this one. Donna, you do such an amazing job of explaining the pattern and cutting. I finished up some of my UFOs, so I’m going to treat myself and make this one next. Thank you again for sharing this great pattern!
I watched you draw those diagonal lines and then turn the fabric rectangles and I was amazed. I haven't seen anyone do that. I just don't get around a lot, I guess! Thank you for a beautiful quilt design.
Hi Donna i have watched this tutorial again and it's given me inspiration to use some of the quilt fabric i obtained in SAfrica by the yard. I find it so useful when you remind us amateur quilters of the many quilt patterns that can be used - thank you once again for all that you do and all your teaching 🌻
I thought of you when I chose my nail polish today. :) Thank you for showing me how to mark and pin HSR for sewing! Sometimes I try a block with mini templates and scraps before moving on to big blocks. I love French General fabrics. :)
I just finished this top, using Anthology batik fat quarters from a boxed bundle of 75 they used to sell. 16 different darks and 8 different lights. I put them in a 4x8 layout to make a throw. I haven't decided whether I'll put borders on it. For the backing, I think I'll use some more of the fat quarters near full size to piece big diamond insets.
Mark Breidegam Love your tutorials. Easy to follow and very informative. My wife and I have recently started quilting and your videos have given us much needed encouragement.
Thanks for showing us how to make this quilt Donna. I downloaded the PDF and watched the tutorial and I'm going to be making it. You are so precise in your explanations.
I can't believe how much simpler this method is. I've watched multiple methods of how to make proper half square rectangles and this is by far the most straight forward one. THANK YOU!!
This is such a handsome quilt! It just looks a tad narrow to me. One more diamond. Making 5 across would be more appealing. You know what they say about odd numbers being best for design work. The for the tutorial Donna. These fabrics are really stunning. Lucky you!!
Super nice quilt and excellent demo! I like when she says to average it out if you get two different measurement across or up and down your quilt top! I did this with my log cabin blocks--a quick measure before adding each strip--, then fudging that seam to keep re-acheiving proper size and straight seams, and it worked great! No trimming needed, even before joining my blocks, and I got nice straight rows and great corner joints. I've discovered the secret to accuracy is.... FUDGE! 🤸🤸🤸🤸📐📐✂️✂️ (Psst, don't tell the pros we're on to them!😸)
This must be for advanced quilter. When you said “slightly larger than 3/8”” I laughed. My straight 1/4” is sometimes wider or narrower than 1/4”!! I’m sure I’ll become better with practice. I’m optimistic because you are always so positive in your video. Thank you Donna!
Hi Donna, I just love your tutorials..watch them all the time..I am thinking of making a sampler quilt of all your blocks just for me. I think all quilters need one. So keep them coming! Thank you! God bless you!
Your creativity, the time you spend creating these patterns, and the love of quilting that you share with all of us make this a truly memorable tutorial. I will certainly try this one very very soon. Please keep creating these wonderful works of art.
Beautiful quilt Donna. I think the idea of using the pieced corner stones was perfect and I love the border idea too. Congratulations for designing and making another masterpiece, Jess
Thank you from the bottom of the heart and from France , touched by the collection you have choosen, for your beautiful patterns and amazing teaching : I've just finished the top of my second quilt ever and the pattern is your Hip to be square.I love the diamonds ,this pattern remembers me Alice in Wonderland.I'll give it a go soon , thank you again and again!
You are the best sewer on you tube ,I have watched hundreds and none can beat you ,love your tutorials and have done a few as best I can Thanks Donna xxx
Haces unos trabajos muy bonitos.. El problema es el idioma, pero poniendo los subtítulos en español y lo bien que explicas me voy enterando. Gracias desde España.
Hi Donna, I’m addicted to your RU-vid tutorials and at the moment I’m in the process of maki g this quilt. I’m doing mine in black and white using fabric that I bought many years ago when I visited your country and went to Amish Country. I also have your ribbons quilt cut out ready to stitch together. 😊
i love all your tutorials. and i love cozy quilt patterns you show us, cos i love how they give you the different sizes you can choose compare to most patterns where it is only 1 size. i would love to see more of those kind of patterns from you but uses charms squares, i have so many packs but never know what quilt designs i can use with them, a lot of the cozy quilt designs seems to use 2&1/2" strips. thanks for all your tutorials i just love all of them. keep them coming please, thanks so much for all you do.
I made a king size rectangular quilt top about 15 years ago. It was my first and ONLY one. I loved the border idea and will use it as I attempt to finish this quilt. Thank you so much, Donna!
Your videos are great! One of the things that sets you apart is that you include the long arm quilting segments. It is SO HELPFUL to see how you choose your thread colors and long arm quilt pattern. Thank you so much!
WOW. You're so fast (and thorough, too). I love your Diamond quilt - and ALL the others. They just come out perfectly with your PERFECT instructions. Thanks, Donna. This is another GREAT quilt video/tutorial. You rock, sista!
Man, I love the diamonds and the lone stars. I learned the blocks and diamonds through tutorials. The French General prints are great. Mine is in a storage. I would love to learn the Diamonds. Really interesting with a new design. Thank you, Donna!
Dana, you are an amazing teacher. I love your tutorials. I have never made a quilt before but have started collecting the tools I need and have an assortment of fabric too. Maybe one day, week or month soon, I will start my first project but perhaps with a easier pattern 🧡💜💚❤️💙
While recouping from knee replacement , I started watching this amazing woman. I have learned so very much from watching her and have really enjoyed her wit and humor along with her teaching. Thank you so much for your videos and teachings
You made a gorgeous quilt! I like the simplicity of the pattern, I think that even a beginner like me can do it because of your great tutorial! Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway, I hope I can win one of your beautiful wallhangings. Thanks!
Donna, the fabric I and considering really needs a Black background so I played with your picture and made the light diamonds black. See the difference
