Donner DT-1 Tuner Review: Best $20.00 I Have Ever Spent! 

Elric I didn't know about this channel!! I was looking at the tuner on sale from prime day and found your video! This is awesome!

Ok that is pretty fun... Back in 2013 or so, I started building PC's and you were basically my mentor with your tech of tomorrow channel. I watched every video and bought after your recommendations. Now I am starting to get into guitar playing and searching for new banging for the buck gear, and here we are again. Small world huh. 😅

At 4:08 you mention this pedal can use a 9V battery. According to the Donner website, it requires a 9 VDC adaptor, it cannot use a battery. That would make sense as none of their other pedals can use a battery. Apart from that, great video. Thanks for making it.

I have had this tunner for over 2 mouths and is the best 20 I ever spent. no problems at all.

I'm looking for a good cheap guitar tuner that will allow to tune in lower tunings outside of E standard. I am Interested in experimenting with tunings so being versatile is a must. I am mostly looking for a tuner that will allow me to tune in D standard DGCFAD.

You can hold down the switch and it will let you hear the tuning instead of muting it. The mute is in case your live. Useful to hear what the strings are doing if your working or setting the guitar up. Also helps to hear your guitar when alternate tuning.

This looks really good. I'm fed up with some crap tuners out there it's about time to upgrade. Does it work without the amp being plugged in?, just guitar to the Donner Dt-1

What polarity does the power adapt have to be? Can I use an adaptor designed for a boss pedal?

Dude I'm sorry but you got to know the products your reviewing? This tuner does not take a 9 volt battery. Most mini pedals don't. As I agree with you on most your points that was a big one for the person who has no 9 volt adapter. I own this pedal for 6 months now and yes at first it completely muted signal but as time went on it has developed some bleed through and noise artifacts as many reviews have stated.however it is accurate and has an excellent display, price wise unbeatable, the muting issue is not a bother to me either, it kills 98% of sound which is plenty. Last point, the build, yes it is rugged but I did have to locktite the input Jack nut because it kept coming loose.my question to you is how long have you used this before your review? As you said it's a steal at under 20 bucks!

Hey man, nice review! Will the DT-1 be able to handle some lower tunings, like on a 7 string guitar? I know its a cheap one, but still... I`m curious... how low can it go?

Ok ... you cannot fine tune with that tuner because the resolution is not high enough..... in other words there's not enough increments as you tune. That seems to be the problem with these cheaper tuners. You can't turn your tuner key and watch it tune up very slowly because when it gets close it'll pop up there and say it's on key. However there's still some variable in there. If there was a bunch more increments because of more resolution you can slowly bring that thing rape dead nuts on the exact note.

Great video, would be awesome to win the tuner. The clip on tuner that came with my first guitar and my amp's tuner really aren't that great and no matter what you play, it all sounds crap on an out-of-tune guitar!

You might wanna change your right hand technique.

It switches off all my other pedals connected to it when it’s on. Imagine that happening when you’re performing. Yep. It is terrible. After tuning my guitar i had to swich them back on one by one.It’s not worth sending it back as it is cheap.

tuning tech is pretty basic. I have no issue with cheap tuners of any kind. it's more important to check the innovation on the neck and maybe compensate for that when tuning
