Does sound good . For the price , you can’t go wrong . Only thing is I might be taking this to a gig instead of my much higher priced Musicman or Gretch.
5 months ago. I bo't a DJC 1000S Amazon. $219 Cdn. Amazon stuffed one into its gig bag and laid it into a cardboard box that totally lacked the firmness of normal cardboard. No stuffing to stabilize the instrument inside box. It was broken upon arrival, the box was a ruin. I senter back and took the refund. Now they're available for $196.00 Cdn. I'm tempted, I just love the look and the reviews. Thank you for your review.
I paid $109 for this guitar on Walmart. I will set it up to pro specifications and play it. These are great platforms for full customization: smooth neck and frets, sand back of neck, tighten all hardware, intonate, set string height, replace pots and switch with Fender Tele...fat strings...and it will sing as a pro guitar should. Maybe $160 total.
As in...how much does the guitar weigh? Never even crossed my mind. Who does that? I also didn't include how thick the body is, the resistance of the pots, or the metal composition of the saddle screws. Some things are just less important to some people I guess.
Amazon had a ‘coupon’ deal in September, I think I paid $114 USD for this. I had planned on getting a nice maple tele headstock neck and swapping in some fender pickups but I was pleasantly surprised at how great the factory neck feels.
I already had a Squier 70's Vibe thinline that I liked, so when I seen these at 114.99usd with their coupon discount.. I have a Donner Hush I like so.. I thought sure why not. The neck is pretty much the same as the Squier in feel, without the high narrow frets. Not really as thin c shaped, like the cheaper affinity squiers. The pickups are just amazing for the price. A quarter of the price of the Squier Vibe Thinline when on sale, well yeah! The Squier seems a bit better quality, but it is nice to have another voicing.. was a great buy and little setup.
That's awesome! Thanks for your feedback. And yeah, I mean people get the wrong idea sometimes. "These guitars just feel really cheap and aren't as good as [brand XYZ at 10x the price." Well no shit. It's under $200 US...what do you expect? And yet FOR under $200, it's a surprisingly good guitar. Totally usable for a beginner and I even use it as a pro. That's a win at this price point.
