I've seen this movie maybe like 10 times or even more... I was 17 when it came out and still when it comes on TV I can't zapp away... it reminds me of my childhood in some way.... All the characters in the movie played so well they couldn't do it better. Johnny Depp and Al Pacino made this move EPIC!
..still an under rated movie , and one of johnny's best too.. and Johnny is back in a crime movie again, but this time on the other side as a crime boss in Black Mass..can't wait to see that
Always reminds me of how many times I've felt just like Lefty and still to this date..life's lessons sometimes just teaches you how colder and emotionless you gotta be in certain situations
Lefty, one of my favorite gangsters of all time...and Anne Heche did a great job, she actually had a lot of her scenes cut from the film, and still despite that she did great...my favorite gangster film of all time..."Not Sonny Red, Sonny Black!" "lotta parking meters in Florida" and he was always hittin Donnie up for some bread...lol...great theme, as soon as you hear it you feel that there is def some betrayal coming and sadness...Lefty 2 Guns...
❤ this movie!! Man this theme though, everytime i hear it, sooo deep!! Makes me think bout all iv been thru in my life.. I have no ideal why im still here💯🙏😔
This song is depressing in a good way. It makes me reflect on my life currently & all the bullshit that’s in it. Everyone needs that kick in the ass every now & again.
when you come out of addiction from a thrill seeking mentality but you always respected the badge and knew you were doing things that your father's and grandfather's woulda smacked your face for this score captures that. it makes me think of the scene were they took Joe pistone AKA (DON BRASCO) AKA (DON THE JEWLER) out of it before he did the hit. I think he was really so far into it that he was gonna go thru with the "hit" just so he could be the first Agent ever to be a "Made" guy the fact of the matter is he is the one that had to pull the trigger and the agency wasn't gonna let that happen... the most tell tale sign that he was very close emotionally with lefty is he genuinely loved lefty as a friend he did and it showed when lefty got a reduced sentence in prison the movie has you believe "lefty" went to his death when Sonny black called the sit-down after finding out Donnie was an agent that's not the way it happened in reality it would have but then again this was reality which leads you the truth of the matter. Sonny Black was convinced that Donnie wasn't a FED he just couldn't believe he was DUPED that long either and at that point Sonny black had already entrusted donny so much that he was the next hit too if you understand it correctly lefty was given a PASS because Agent Joe Pistone fooled all of them. they were all supposed to get whacked after that because the Florida thing was set up by Sonny black via Carlo Trafficanté and so after "Operation Don Brasco" Trafficanté would be the one greenlight a hit on the entire crew otherwise it was war and war is bad for business in "this thing of ours". saluté di Donnie Y lefty Ruggiano
In real life it wasnt lefty who was wacked by the bosses of was Sonny Bkack. As Pistone said he was closer to Black than lefty. In fact he hated lefty a lot but got on very well with Sonny Black. Black was the one who took Pistone under his wing. That is why when shit hit the fan and it came out the Donnie (pistone) was an FBI agent Black got the bullet or beating. Lefty died if prison of throat cancer I think years later. The film makes it out that Lefty and Donnie were close.
