Great video. Thank you for taking the time and posting a fair and truthful video based on your experiences. I just purchased this air rifle and while it is a touch heavier than I remembered it in the store, it is, so far, a great, fun gun. I have only had this rifle a few days and have heard a lot of criticism about the scope. Well, when I first used it I was ready to throw it in the garbage but after running some Crossman precision pellets through it and really cranking on the adjustments, this rifle has been a beast. I mean a truly accurate beast. That is with the factory 4X scope. I have always been a better than average shot but am not a "gun guy". I love the feel and look of this rifle and like I said, it has been extremely accurate so far. I do wish I had the wood stock version with the iron sites. I have the newer version which is black and stainless with a nice all weather stock but it does not have the factory iron sites (I really wish they left the iron sites on it). This is my first adult air rifle and after being very skeptical I will honestly say that this thing is totally awesome. You get both the .177 and .22 barrels on a great rifle for $99.99 at Walmartians. I noticed that there was only one left at the 2 Walmarts I went to. I went to two because I wanted to look at other rifles. Well I am glad I bought this Beeman. It's fantastic and can easily take care of any pests but also can allow you to have serious adult quality enjoyment in your own back yard. Great value for the money. Thanks again for a great video. God bless.
I put 10,000 pellets thru the .22 barrel and still shots like a champ, it gets better with age. I'm on my fifth scope tho, this center point airgun scope I got has survived 5,000 of the shots and still holds the zero great.
Thanks for posting that video Donnie. I'll try the hardware stores, and auto parts stores also tomorrow. I fired about 250 rounds out of the .177 barrel before switching to the 22. I should have dapped a touch oil on the O-ring after switching it. The ring looks more like it got pinched when I closed the breach. Thanks again.
I bought mine actually at Walmart years ago. It didn't come with sight protector although. I noticed i was a little heavy, not too bad, so i purchased a bi- pod spring clamp, 8 inch and 6 inch, helps with accuracy for longer range shooting. The wood stock is impressive and i might coat it with Birchwood Casey wood stain , just to add strength and durability. Great air rifle and thanks for your review, 👍
Hey Donnie! I just got the Silver Kodiak X2 model #10774 for $99.00. Satin nickle plated barrel and receiver. No iron sights, just scope grooves. Synthetic stock. Ported muzzle brakes, both barrels. I'm setting it up with the .22 barrel first and same Beeman scope. The trigger pull seems a bit heavy. I may look into trying to make it smoother after I get it zeroed in. I bought a cheap Gamo laser sight and tried a few shots, but I'll put it on a better rest to do that again. The laser windage and elevation are very coarse adjustments, just a small turning of the screw produces several degrees of change! I was quite surprised at the apparent power this shoots with. The spring strength seems pretty strong, not sure if it will weaken much with use. I was kind of worried about the amount of force I needed to cock it, so I made sure I gripped barrel as far down toward the break as possible. I am using some .22 Ruger Superpoints in it. I'll let you know the progress I have.
I like my Demon Beeman! Got it used, and use the .22 barrel exclusively because I have an accurate .177 already. Occasionally the accuracy will suddenly go wonky; I've learned that the cause is almost always either the barrel grub screw loosening up or the three stock-mounting screws are loose. Blue Loc-Tite goes a long way toward minimizing this problem.
I have that air rifle in stainless steel, its heavy but you just know this rifle is going to last, I'd recommend when using 22cal barrel to put a little vaseline on the end of the pellet as when using 22 barrel you lose power, but with vaseline on the pellets you be firing at around 1400fps, they say when using the 22 cal barrel it's top speed is around 850fps but I would think it's only around 350 tops , so vaseline will make the pellets fly more powerfully than the 177cal , BANG just like a 22 rifle and early take a rabbit from about here to me Aunty's farm .
UPDATE: I just want to say, I can't say enough good things about this rifle. I am more and more impressed with it every time I shoot it, and I shoot it often. I'm just derading the day I finally wear it out. Just hope my next one is as good as this one. Donnie D
Only thing that can wear is the o ring on chamber ,the mainspring and the seal on the piston that's propelled by the mainspring. They can all be replaced, hardest is the spring,it requires a spring compressor that can be easily made at home, you can search for plans on net and you tube.
Donnie try the beeman gas ram quiet tek dual. I found it on clearance at a WM for only $74. I was quite impressed with it. You can compare gas piston to spring piston.
What a great $99 WallMart rifle, except I have absolutely destroyed $687 worth of 5 different scopes in one year. The scopes start moving as soon as I site them in, and after some epoxy to stop them from sliding back they bend each new mount into each new scope until they twist the scope and shatter lenses. Every salesman keeps saying I won't have a problem but the more expensive they are, the fewer rounds till trash can. The scopes look like you put them in a big vise and smashed them with a baseball bat and twist them with a breaker bar. The most expensive thing I have ever convinced myself I could kill a squirrel with, but I've hit more with my glock and ultimately spent less. I want to throw it away before it costs me more, then at least I'll have a case to put something useful in.
the grizzly and the kodiac silver x2 are the same rifles with different stock and sights both available at wall mart. the kodiac lacks iron sights so it is strictly scoped. also if your scope is not rated for airgun use the forward and backward recoil of a springer air rifle will destroy the scope. my kodiac silver will put .22 crosman hollow point pellets almost completely through a heavy guage car muffler at 55 feet. every shot clears one side all the baffle and makes large dimples protrude from other side so yeah they are really powerfull. enjoy shooting. bye the way i got mine in store at wall mart for $99.00 2 days ago here in ga. its not even broke in yet.
I blew a Rat Snakes head off at about 100 ft. using the .22 barrel today (we have a problem with them where I live. Can't tell you how many neighborhood cat have been killed by them) and I just picked the rifle up last night. I love it, sure it's not as good as the rifle I used in Rifle Team back in High School, but that was a $2,500 Feinwerkbau (and that's in 1991 dollars lol) so for $100 people can get a pretty good (and fun) air rifle that definitely NOT the Red Ryder from A Christmas Story that everyone pictures when you mention air rifles.
i love my silver kodak . haven't had the chance to hunt with it yet but it will put the 22 cal. pellets through a heavy guage steel car muffler and almost out the back side of it at 75 feet.
Have had this air rifle for 5 years and I have never taken out of the box :/ read and read very good things about this rifle maybe one day I'll take her out and use it!
Just wondering on the air gun where it breaks does it look like the front part of the barrel is not a straight through barrel my friend bought one and it looks like the guns barrel is on a lower angle than the rest of the gun any one else notice this ?
UPDATE I have since put the scope that came with this gun back on it. Turns out the problem I was having was with my glasses, and not the scope. It is quite accurate for the distances that I will be shooting this airgun. Thanks, Donnie D
Hope it's quieter than my daisy 880 when shooting in .22, don't want to alarm my neighbors,i bought a Chinese 22, a b1 of Amazon and I'm not sure but i can't get it sighted in so I'm trashing it and going with the beeman, please tell me it's quite
It isn't too bad, but I only have this so I don't have anything to compare it to. I'm sure the neighbors don't hear it. It is at least thet quiet. Donnie D
Hi Jon. If you mean when I switch barrels, I have not noticed any loss, but then again, I have spent about 95% of my shooting time using the .22 barrel. Donnie D
Where can you buy the exact size O-ring for the receiver? I just bought this air rifle and love it. But when I changed the barrel out to the 22 cal. I blew the seal out after about 15 shots. Thanks in advance guys.
I would think it is just a standard size O ring, and you should be able to find it at most any hardware store. Take the bad one with you and try to match it. Donnie D
My didn't come with the metal front sight protectors, so the fiber optic sticks fell out in a week, other then that 10,000 pellets thru .22 and 7,000 thru the .177 and the chronograph FPS is 780fps 20gr .22 cal and 1210 FPS 6gr platinum .177 average speed.
