In 1972, my older sister had the walls covered with posters on Donny. I have now almost 50 years later changed my mind about Donny, he is a fantastic artist, singer, entertainer, peacock and human being. His public message is: Respect the opinion of others, be tolerant, be nice, be yourself.
I watched Donny and Marie as a kid. I did not watch the Masked Singer but my girlfriend was a fan. She showed me the clip of the first episode, I wasn't sure with the voice right away, but as soon as he started dancing The Greatest show it clicked. I told her, 'Donny Osmond' before the song ended.
I love that he said something like, ‘When you wear the mask, nobody knows you. You’re starting from scratch.’ None of his reputation meant anything. That takes serious courage. Way to go man!!! Texas
Have never hit the save icon ever. I did for this interview. Donny Osmond is an incredible human being. We should all strive to walk as tall as he does.
Donny Osmond is such a big time person! Which isn't that surprising when you think about his siblings! I mean every member from his eldest brother, Virl all the way down to the youngest, Jim( my )is big time cool!!!!Love y'all❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If I recall correctly, and yes I do recall, It wasn't so much that he was ostracized for being too nice. It was the horrible bubble gum music the record label kept pushing him & his brothers to record, which made them seem saccharine sweet, like the music (And his brothers, who are actually amazing rock musicians, suffered even more. They never got to do much of their kind of rock music) Then the series Donny and Marie, followed, where he was always made out to, well, be the punchline. But I've always respected how hard he worked & showed how deeply talented he is!!!
I just found this by accident. It's nice to watch a news interview that is unbiased. A great insight to Donny Osmond's personality and how he progressed. His progression from his earlier days performing with his sister to the Masked Singer as the peacock is a life lesson for all.
Can't get over how young and fit and full of life he is in his 60's? That doesn't compute. I'm closing in on fifty myself and there are days I feel everybit of my age. It's inspirational and makes me want to be more active and live life to the fullest.
I just saw his performance as The Peacock for the first time .He was incredible .I didn't know who was singing .Donny is so down to earth as well as his entire family . .God bless him.
CNE - Canada National Exhibition in Ontario Canada live concert in early 90’s. Enjoyed their dynamic Performance. Donny and Marie He almost slip jumping up the speaker but still got back right away to his grove and delivered an amazing performance! Hope to see him more
Donny Osmond was a teen idol when I was growing up. I remember that there was always a competition between him and Michael Jackson on who was the most popular. I remember all the magazine covers (Tiger beat, Fave, etc...) in all the stores.
I really enjoyed this interview with Donny. He was the perfect entertainer to start off the Masked Singer show and the Peacock was the perfect costume and is now a legend in its own right.
I have been a fan of Donny's since the 1970's. I was so proud of him when he did this. I just loved watching people in the audience cheer for him. A lot of people said he was too old for the moves he did. He proved everybody wrong. He's amazing and can do anything he sets his mind to.
@Jim Caponzi Jesus gives us a new commandment: "A new commandment I give you; love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34
Jim Caponzi that is ludicrous. The chosen people were the Jews, not Catholics. Read the bible and try to practice kindness, the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Did anyone else pick up on the peacock being Donny Osmond almost immediately? I grew up watching the Donny and Marie show in the 1970s, and his voice and mannerisms on stage were easy to recongize.
Hey don't feel bad about having a crush on him, I have had one on him since the Andy Williams shows, I am his age just a little under 6 months younger than him.
Growing up watching the Donny and Marie show on TV and having seen some of the documentaries on the Osmond family, it can be said that Donny probably has shouldered the biggest burden (with possibly Marie being equal) of essentially being the "FACE" of the Osmond family for more than a half century. He's had to navigate being the Osmond's straight man, had the intensity of female groupies, had the travails of starting so young, had to embody all of the Osmond brand wholesomeness while still maintaining charisma and sex appeal, had to often put the needs of his clan above his own, worked like a dog during the variety show era, and soldiered on like a true entertainment trooper/die-hard even after the cultural relevance of the Osmond brand fell out of favor. If anything, he is probably one of the most UNDERRATED performers of the last half century, and has a truly unique career. Whether it be on record, on a variety or stage show, as a talk show guest or host, on broadway, in Vegas, pitching a product, on Dancing With the Stars or being the "Peacock" on the masked singer - Donnie Osmond is a 100 percenter. He brings it all. He'll tackle anything with sincerity and gusto. A true entertainment lifer. He should be more valued and have more critical cache in general.
@@sallyintucson huh? The Osmond femily are and always have been world famous mormons as long as they've been known as far back as the 60's on the Andy Williams Show.
Amazing Donny! You're the winner! Celebrities judges said you were amazing performer. I enjoy watching Osmonds for decades. Everything your family does is GOLD😊 Love all of you.❤️❤️❤️
Donny! We were born the same year and I want to say how impressed I am at your energy... your movement... and that voice of yours! You are made these contemporary songs seriously kick! Kudos my friend!!! What a pleasure to see!
Was fortunate to see he perform in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and was stunned by how outstanding he was. While I guessed the Peacock was him, I have been surprised by him like his duet with Susan Boyle. Fantastic voice that he should be appreciated even more.
The moment Donnie opened his mouth and sang I knew it was Donnie. And even his movements, the way he moves his hands and the way he walks when he sings. That was the only one i knew. Fun show,
Is he not the most genuine, honest man - still sweet, still good....joyful in his progress, joyful in his contribution to the entertainment world, but without all the arrogance and self-absorption?!
65, adorable, great sense of humor, amazing heart, incredible voice, great dancer, overall the consummate performer, hard worker, loves his wife, family man, grateful, sincere, and my own personal favorite, a believer. Great that he keeps his personal beliefs separate from entertainment though because he’s respectful of everyone and their own personal beliefs. I like that he does what he says...be yourself, be authentic. Love you peacock! You were awesome and my pick to win. 💖🦚
I don't know if anyone else noticed it but while he was singing the song "Counting Stars" , after he came down off of the stairs onto the stage he was dancing and did that signature side hop move that he and Marie used to do all the time on Donny & Marie. No one else does that move. I already knew it was him but if I had not, That would have been the clincher.
I remember seeing the Peacock and him singing "The Greatest Show" and I said to my mother who at my house with me: "THAT IS DONNY OSMOND! I AM POSITIVE ON THIS!" She laughed and said "I know Donny Osmond, that doesn't sound like him." Me: "Yes, THAT IS DONNY OSMOND!!!!" Weeks later he's revealed and I'm laughing at my mom. She should know Donny Osmond's voice better than me! She's listened to him more! :P
This host is so right. Donny and Marie (and the Osmond family) exude genuine love for family and really the world🙏🏾. I happened upon this intrvw, and thought i wld watch a little bit; but got engrossed in the listening to Donny’s humble, honest and fun response to the host’s questions. He is having so much fun doing this intrvw. He makes you laugh along with him. They’re a blessing to the world…
Donny, I adore you. An all around great man....of faith, family, entertainment, charitable kind person. Please don't stay away for too long. God bless you
Donny Won hands down. It was extra special to let the runner up take the prize Donny is really something glad he's healthy and hanging around doing music long as possible.
Donny Osmond, like his brother Alan and his sister Marie, is such a positive person! Little wonder why I, along with countless other people, love ❤️ the entire family (this includes their kids and grandkids!).
The shoulder surgery thing did throw me off, so good work with that. Lol Loved the peacock and I really think Donny should have won. He wasn't just a good singer on the show, he was a great preformer and definitely my favorite. Such a sexy voice! The first song was my favorite but they were all great. I'd LOVE it if he was a guest judge on season 2! 😍
Watched his performance's. What an amazing run. Starting with the Greatest show, that song alone should have won him the Competition. It also set the bar very high and sent a huge message, the Masked singer will be super entertaining and a huge hit.
Bob Evans does wonderful interviews. It's great to have a reporter that lets the guest do the talking. One question - Would Donny ever do a duet with David Archuleta? They'd be a great team.
The 'one-take" Osmonds! Love Donny and Marie, I grew up watching their show and had records of the Osmonds. So happy to see them performing - now that is what you call real talent. And such a wonderful family! This Masked Singer stint will win Donny new fans from the younger generation.
Was hoping you would win! Love your smooth voice and performance quality! Keep it up Donny, you've still got it!!! Hilarious the video didn't even show the winner, all about Donny! BAM!
In the finale, he said something about "there may be a bee, but the beehive is my symbol." That's what gave it away for me, and no one ever mentions it. Beehive state = Utah.
Donny should of won, hands down! He is the best and most humble, athletic experienced performer with one of the strongest and most flawless voice in the industry. He made the show the success it is, not T-Pain. Just saying. Love you Donny! You are the BEST! See you at your show in September in VEGAS! God bless and keep you! 💜✝️🌸
Bravo! Donny Osmond is a genius ! I love him since I was 9 and he never ceases to amaze me! I am a singer, I live in México and one of my dreams had been that some day I would go to Vegas to see Donny and Marie, but now it won't happen...soo sad ! 😔 I already have a plain ticket...that's all...😬...why? because of this terrible pandemic I could not renovate my visa and now I don't have a job, so...no money for Vegas, just a plain ticket...this is like a snow ball. But I will use that ticket sooner or later! Please someone tell them that I am a huge fan and I love them ! This is a very good interview by the way, very respectful as it should be with such a great star ! 🤩😍
Donny, I hope you read these comments. You were/are hands down THE GREATEST. Hugs & love to you & your wife & whole family.... and please wear (regular) masks & stay safe & well. And PS... Please release a surprise new album -- I/we need you on the radio again! XOXO always
He’s a wonderful singer. I knew who he was with the first song, but I’ve been a fan since the early 70’s. I’ve seen him perform - what can I say? He’s my first crush.
I have enjoyed watching you perform for many years. I loved you as the Peacock and thought you did an amzing job. You really worked the costume and got into character. Thanks for all those years of enjoyment.
There is ONLY ONE DONNY OSMOND. There will never be one to compete with him. DONNY IS A BLESSED BUT WITH A GOD GIVEN TALENT. HE EARNED EVERY APPLAUSE AND ACCOLADE TO TAKE HIM TO WHERE HE IS.🎸🎻🏆
I forgot to add that Donny Osmond, as well as his sister, Marie (Osmond) Craig, is amazing! How many entertainers does anyone know still working after he/she is no longer a teen idol? In fact, not only working once he/she is past the teen idol stage of his/her career BUT still popular as well?!
