How do you consolidate Back after a fight? You either move into an enemy unit or closer to a Marker (each model individually). That would make a moving Back in your instance impossible (9:42). Or am I Missing Something?
This one confused me too. Appears to be clarified in the Rules Commentary section on "Consolidation Move". As you point out, Core Rules for "Consolidate" states that if your unit cannot consolidate into engagement range with an enemy unit then you can optionally consolidate "towards the closest objective marker" so long as you end the move in range of the objective and in unit coherence. However, in the Rules Commentary section for "Consolidation Move" it states that a Consolidation Move is "A 3" move that, if made, must see that unit end within Engagement Range...or, if this is not possible, within range of the closest Objective Marker..." So the Rules Commentary seems to override the apparent directional requirement of the Core Rule, allowing you to move away from the marker as long as your consolidating unit remains in range at the end of the move.
Give the BG a Judiciar. That would change the entire dynamic. Which if I am running a 6 man BGV I probably give them a character. Judiciar being the best option.
If the defending unit has fights first, they'll always fight first, regardless if the blade guard has a Judicar. Unless you use heroic intervention on the Judicars squad to interrupt the legionaries
