I played GSC Host of Ascension at a tourney. In pariah Went 2-3. If i played more, it could easily have been 3-2 or better. Host takes so long, being so dependent on cheeky deepstrike and pickup commands. Pretty strong but brutal with time constraints. I skip like 60% of my shots for time management.

just an FYI for you guys, picking a Battle Tactic is an abilitiy, which means you dont have to pick one if you dont want to. there is a number of reasons why you might do this, first, you might not be able to do one that turn, so you dont want to waste one later in the game, like you would in older editions of the game, second you might want to become the underdog to get that extra CP for the next turn.
quick thing about deepstriking on a gsc marker, the rule on the marker reads now that it has to be a normal, advance or fall back move within 9in. to remove and even says that deepstrike does NOT count
I watched this before getting the book today. The ability for the claw lord to fight and then flee is that a mistake? Don’t you need to scurry away before fighting as an ability in the combat phase? Great video, was still really helpful just unsure about that part?

Excited to see a nice solid batrep for newAoS - from a technical point of view the top down looks a bit blown out, especially with the particular battlemat. I know lightning is a &£*#! to get just right and it doesn't detract from the quality of the game fun explanation and bantz but just for future reference!! If its not the light, it could be of bit lower resolution maybe? It just looks a bit odd!
Gsc generally welcome their Tyranid overlords, only disconnecting from the hive mind as they are falling into the reclamation pools, realising their mistake too late. However, if the invading swarm isn't from their original host fleet, they may fight back, awaiting their true 'saviours'. Eg behemoth genestealer cults would welcome hive fleet behemoth, but fight against a leviathan fleet.
I think this is the weakest part of GSC lore. It feels like there was a deep need to shoehorn in a Lovecraftian twist ending instead of developing the thought further and I really hope that they jettison it at some point.
