You’re listening to the defining voice of the late 70’s early 80’s- Mr Michael McDonald with that beard and blue eyes. He’s in the middle of the photo. You would love his “ I Keep Forgettin “ which was sampled by Warren G and Nate Dogg. The Doobies catalog is iconic! Takin It to the Streets is my fave!
Such a momentous song from the Doobie Brothers when Michael McDonald became a dominant influence, and that's ok as a life long Dooby Brother's fan. I was in a garage band playing "China Grove" before this ("Oh Black Water") when the newly revised Doobie Brothers added Michael McDonald. Such an important event in the history of of classic rock. The Doobie Rothers were raised to another level.
This is dope I can rock with this Mos Def he was hitting them notes definitely adding this song appreciate this one my head is shaking listening to this😆👍
Written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. Won a Grammy for Song of the Year in 1980.🏆 MM sang with Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, Nicollette Larson, Patti LaBelle, the late James Ingram, RIP, Toto. MM even write some lyrics with Van Halen to finish the song I'll Wait. Suggested videos 📹: 1 Michael McDonald sings I Keep Forgettin 2 Van Halen performs I'll Wait.
Nice one JT...this is another song covered by the late great Queen of Soul, Miss ARETHA FRANKLIN....definitely worth checking her version out... she put some funk on it!
Michael McDonald joined the Doobie Brothers in April of 1975 after One of the founders and lead singer Tom Johnston left due to health reasons. My favorite from Michael McDonald is - (Takin' It To The Streets) Do the studio version - it has a great bass line.
This Gospel Family Would Make A Very Successful Transition To R&B/Soul Music,, The Staple Singers "I'll Take You There",, "Respect Yourself" & "Uncloudy Day"
Never never go wrong with the Doobie brothers. Such a diverse group purposely and it works like it should. More brothers please. The great things about these songs, is how it makes you feel and the feeling lasts individually affecting your life positively. Three 6s not needed. Just need to hear and dance to the music.
You just heard a legend in the music industry Michael McDonald that said please check out these songs...taking it to the street" live last concert" in 1982 but they did get back together...minute by minute...he also does a duet with Patti Labell you'll love it called....on my own....love your reaction girl❤
