Saw them live again in 2022 and they still totally Rock Out! Rock, Country, R & B, Blue Grass, they can do it all! Great to see them with Mike McDonald back, so appreciated!
listen to the music is one of the greatest sing along songs ever written. if you didn't find yourself singing along to this song you better check your pulse!
First saw them in 73, blew me away. 29 times they were in driving distance, I WAS THERE. No other band moved me like those guys and those songs. If they don’t get you moving, you’re probably DEAD. 😂
AMEN GW!! I reserve "Awesome" for Almighty G-d, but The Doobies are certainly up there!! There has never been a greater American Band!! (Whats wrong with the girls at 3:43.... How could you have such a glum look on your face? Every time I have left a Doobies gig i cannot stop smiling for DAYS!!....
DIG THIS!! In 1972 I traveled from California to attend a small Agricultural College in Tifton Georgia called Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). At that time "Listen to the Music" had just been released and the Doobie Brothers played live in our small gymnasium. Of course they rocked LTTM live. Shortly thereafter "Listen to the Music" became a smash hit for the band. Ah yes...this iconic song evokes fond memories and a smile each time I hear it, even a half century later!
Takes me back when I was 11 years old doing early morning milk deliveries in mangere suburbs, Auckland New Zealand 1973. Recall hearing this song on milk truck radio and the driver explained to me what a doobie was, OMG where has the time gone!
Just sayin......"my eardrums have more airtime listening to the Brothers Doobie , than many punks do listening to their parents on a 24x 7 since the year 1978...just do the math gang.
I’ve met them several times. Very nice and personable people. I can assure, these guys do not take their fans for granted. One of my RU-vid videos, recorded in 2000, is Tom signing my Doobie Brothers poster that I’ve had since 1977.
Joe I have never heard of Hillary Scott nor Jennifer Nettles before (will certainly be looking them up now!), but I have been a Doobies Fanatic since 1972 (I was 15). Was cool seeing Australia's Nicole Kidman and Kiwi husband Keith Urban in the crowd - Keith is a legend in his own right but The Doobies are Absolute LEGENDS!
Doobies forever! Was supposed to see Boston and Doobie Brothers in Pittsburgh in 1976, and Boston got snowed in. So.... after a local stand in group kinda got booed off-stage, The Doobies took the stage and jammed for 2 1/2 hours, what a show, one of the best I've every seen!

Nettles ,to much Country Twang for me , Tom Pat and John with Michael by themselves makes their 70’s song one of the best Ever recorded , no one else can duplicate this masterpiece.Their Tour starts in June check them out if a concert date is in your area. Great show , great lighting, and a great large time , see them live , rock men!!!!
Maybe never as commercially successful as the Beach Boys, Eagles or some other American bands, but just as important as those I mentioned or any other you can think of. One of a handful of bands I was always waiting for their next album .
Just saw them again with Michael McDonald in VA beach for the umpteenth time great show band real music Jennifer is a great talent unlike most today Taylor she can singgggg
@@davidhughes4448 you might also enjoy this arrangement with Juan Carlos Portillo on bass: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t4sK8d48Exs.html - less power, but still a great bass line.
Now this, minus the chickies, is what the Doobie Brothers sound like. Classic. They just can't write um like this anymore. Think I'm gonna float the 'black water' on down to 'China Grove'
I was asking the same question. But I think that's John Cowan left of the stage, right behind Michael McDonald. If you focus behind and left of Pat Simmons at 1:27 you'll find him. Greetings from Portugal.
