they honestly shoudlve made tj have stronger connections with the player, like jake from brick bronze who fights dual battles with you and actually helps you with things.
I played doodle world and TJ became an egotistical jackass. This is why I prefer Jake. While Jakes ends joining the enemy team, he ends up being a good rival in LL. TJ does not do anything with the player and then once he is told that he is a "universal anomaly" he starts acting like he is the main character. A matter of fact I looked at the wiki for TJ and in the comments so many people despise him. Me as well, because at the start he is just our rival that has ambitions. Then he decides that he wants to be the main man of the story and wants to do everything by himself because he thinks that he is stronger than really is. I swear the other universes without TJ are lucky to not have an egotistical big head like TJ.
Early game, sure, but you can clearly tell there was already growing tension between the mc and TJ well before he was told he was some Univ. Anomaly that would prob hold him back from doing so out of pride
@@JosueKpatcha-fu9yiIf you mean by how much you like the character's personality, fair point but I disagree narratively. TJ's character as a rival imo is more unique and well written for what it is than Jake's ever was
Personally I really love Doodle World! It's a fresh take on the Monster Catcher type of game that has become really popular over the last few years and sets itself apart by having a unique art style and simple mechanics, instead of whatever LL is doing. My biggest highlight for the game must be PvP. It's pretty easy getting good Doodles, as Printing allows you to chooses their stats/abilities/etc. My only problems are that to get perfect Doodles (6 star) you must also complete a bunch of quest for each one, including the entire evolution line, which is pretty tedious and time consuming, but for non extremely serious PvPers 5 star Doodles work just fine. Also the PvP is pretty deep, with weather, choice items, hazards and Megas, making it pretty interesting but somewhat overwhelming. Also, yeah the volume problem does exist.
The level cap is either you don't mind it or hate it, personally I like it because it made me like my team more, the story will probably get better, we aren't even half way into the game, and things like the heal text will probably be ironed out and maybe you don't know but you probably do, you can reset your character to get taken to the start of a route or area. Personally what I don't like is the UI, I think it's just too basic and it doesn't take advantage of the game being about doodles, it doesn't have any paper aesthetic.
one issue i got with the level cap is specifically at the von sweets factory...one of the nobody trainers literally has a level 30...yet Von Sweets doesn't have one doodle that is or is over level 30...
For Pokémon fighters ex they did make a new game known as monsters of etheria, but it started to die after them not adding new monsters and other factors.
For me the best part of doodle world was finding out what each doodle evolved into. For example the evolution of that angler fish creature who I named leviathan became a main stay on my team.
I traverse the map using a combination of resetting and using the subway. Honestly it’s the most efficient mode of transport I have seen. I liked your ideas of how to better improve the character writing. Great video!
Remember that guy who made that bot who had a bunch of high level doodles with no damaging moves you could grind against? Not gonna lie who ever made that bot is an absolute life saver whenever I wanted to swap out a doodle on my team and quickly level them up.
@@AmicaSecret Same goes with some hard battles like Rufus (optional tho), Wayfarer Jack sidequests, the way Key Guardians have doodles with various types to grind up the difficulty such as Zane and Solis. The 3rd Key Guardian also uses an awakened Doodle earlier so it might be even more harder to fight against it even if ya don't own an awakened doodle yet.
I played doodle world when it released and I’m getting bored of the game to be honest what also bothers me is how repetitive the PvP mechanic is as well tasks are so annoying and grindy not only that doodle world is trying to become pet simulator X
My god I’m so glad you spoke about the issues that were tearing me apart for the longest time I thought I was the only one who noticed this. One of my main interests is marine biology and I wanted to make a full water type team of fish like Doodles. I played Doodle world during the earlier stages I would say. But most of these issues were not a big deal because the game was still very accessible at the time. UNTIL I REACHED doodle academy that’s where the game fell for me. Not only did I have to change my team billions of times(this is hyperbole) simply because THE BOSSES WERE FAR TOO DIFFICULT. THIS GAME IS what’s that aphorism? … A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING! I can’t stand it at all because the games demographic contradicts how difficult this game is. I just wanted to do one thing. I’m the only one who wanted to do this either. There was one girl I knew she wanted a full cat team of cat themed doodles. I WOULDNT be surprised if she got torn apart as soon as she got to the third key…. That’s if she got the third key. Also the level cap scales with the KEYS YOU HAVE SO THEY GATE KEEP (QUITE LITERALLY) the next level cap( so the likelihood of this being fixed in a. “Future update” is very low) ITS AGONY. I NEED THE KEY TO BEAT THE BOSS IN THE FIRST PLACE. IM JUST glad you’re mentioning this. I have been struggling forever just to even get on to the runic island or whatever and I feel like everyone has been playing a couple different game. The answer to everything shouldn’t be “INCINELISK SMOKE SCREEN SPAM” I CANT EVEN PULL THIS OFF. I have had to put aside hours of potential progression just to establish this new side teams and characters just to play the game. This is why I might quit. (BTW my favorite signature doodle is maskomedy)
5:18 There was an instant travel mechanic in Doodle World, it was the Taxi Guy from Project Pokemon (he was temporary though and was only useable until the Subway feature came out when the game got Von Sweetsvile. You can see Taxi Guy at Social Park after you unlock the Subway.)
As someone who plays doodle world for a year (or more) the only part of the game that’s sucks are the tasks (that still kinda fair tbh, because the tasks allow you to create better doodles for the entire game). The pvp is kinda annoying too, but the Devs always tries to balance it Overall, the game was great and still great (For me at least XD)
Dude I'm a perfectionist so I battle every trainer complete every help centre task so it pains me when my doodles go over the level cap and I have to use the damn forsaken unlevel cube when I DID WHAT THE GAME WANTS ME TO DO
In the newest update they added it so the level even if you just started you can have a level 52 if you decide to grind that so yeah and even if you have no keys
DOODLE WORLD, it's been a year after it's release and the game grew up so fast with quick updates. And I heard people are comparing it to Loomian Legacy for various reasons like LL being slow at updates especially for soulburst stuff and story progression. While DW is much quicker cause consistent schedule or ways of updating in a good way. People think LL devs aren't able to communicate with the community and according to various assumptions they have a fixed mindset considering they are afraid to hire new devs, which is related to Brick Bronze clones in some way like LL devs fear that the newly hired devs will take advantage of this for creating Brick Bronze clones with an intent to finish up the Brick Bronze's unfinished content with their own hands. Anyways, there's also Pokemon Metal Malachite which got into controversy with Brick Bronze stuff cause uhh, the game was originally planned as a spiritual successor to Brick Bronze in terms of everything especially lore. However, after various controversial stuff they decided to turn it into Tales of Tanorio. ToT is currently in development, so I'd like to recommend this game for some reason, since this game also had a great potential like other fakemon games on roblox.
I'm not going very in depth. This is a 9 minute review recapping my introduction to the game. If I play more I'll upload more but honestly I don't have much interest in most of the other mechanics in the game. I think I'll just wait for more story updates.
Mate. Until you can construct your thesis in a more efficient manner maybe I’ll hear out but as someone who has been playing forever actually GETTING TO THE “runic islands” is like telling someone one piece gets better on episode 1000. Actually getting the runic islands is something even I can’t pull off. Because of the game design issues.
Pokemon Fighters EX didn't "stop" they just have a underpreforming sequel called Monsters Of Etheria and instead of turn based battles its more open world-ish and theres no story (sadly) also, you play as the Etherians
2:37 That's probably because sometimes Wish_Z makes the level cap a little higher (I think he temporarily made the level cap 38 at one point because Jack round 2 was pretty hard and he temporarily made the level cap 47 around the 4th key Guardian, it might be 44 now though)
He's a character from Pokemon Black/White and Black 2/White 2. He's one of the only pokemon characters with actual substantial character development and lore, he can also talk to pokemon
I haven’t played it for months since the candy factory update bcs I was too lazy of walking so much and I got stuck at battling a homeless guy wsknwsjk
Dude the video was out for literally 1 minute before you commented this... Try actually watching first before disagreeing with anything next time please.
this might of been mentioned but doodle world was made after hero havoc I guess a turn based game its kind of dead and then wish made there own spin off of there version of project Pokémon something along those lines
Small criticism normally you put in positive feedback than criticism or complaints. This is due to the anchoring bias and with doodle world as you said still being new and in development it feels off. It's also better for how you're viewed being seen as more reasonable with positivity first. Of course I don't believe you're psychologically manipulating viewers or trying to get more views with negativity bias based on your thumbnail. Anyway sorry for going on a tangent, just a small nickpick of mine.
@@jackzicrosky I'm saying you came off as intentionally trying to make people dislike the game. Even if that wasn't your intention. Your psychologically manipulating people to dislike the game due to anchor bias. Even though I'm sure they ain't your intention. Anyway that's just a small critique.
@@johnjohnjohnson7720 I'm not trying to make people do anything. I'm just presenting my thoughts about what I experienced. I strongly recommend anyone else go play the game themselves to formulate their own thoughts and rating. I even prefaced my points by saying: "These are all my opinions and you might think one of these problems doesn't matter all that much". I'm not manipulating anyone, that's a hell of an accusation to make. I'm literally just stating my opinion on the game. Your point about "anchor bias" makes no sense either. If I talked about the good points first wouldn't people latch onto those with your logic? That's a bad thing as well. I like to leave people off on a positive note rather than a negative one because I think it's less toxic.
@@jackzicrosky I know that's why I prefaced and said I know your aren't doing that but anchor bias exists and its better to start off with positive to be positive for positive sake. You are correct that anchor bias will make positive first positive always but that's far better when it comes to content than a negative one. And if you want to end off on positive you can just do positive criticism positive. I did not mean to accuse you nor was accusing you but instead pointing out something that may be a byproduct of your opinion and while it may be an opinion due to the psychological effect it can cause a negative opinion of the game to form. I'm fine with your opinion at large and I am fine with the criticisms and whole heartily agree with them its just due to the psychological affect it can lead to impressionable people being easily swayed to make a negative judgement and with this type of content if you put opinions and not impartial its better to put off a positive vibe first and get that anchor bias positively than a negatively conclusion. I love doodle world and I just don't want any possible way for people to get a negative view on things without firstly acknowledging the facts first. All in all if you don't make impartial content and you do make opinionated content (which is fine) you just have to make sure your still spreading a positive message, again no hate, only love its just I don't want things with influence sending a wrong message accidentally.
Bro the doodle world dev is actively testing the community patients. They tried to be too different from pokemon and that was their main problem. Ask anyone and they would say that they dont understand the type chart. Stay to pokemon typing (fire, water, grass, fairy) not food, mythic, beast since it makes it overly complicated
i dont see different typings being that bad, also i think they may have done a switch with the typing's. since fairy and dragon isnt in the game. but its your opinion, so eh
