In Doolin I interviewed Banjo player, Kevin Griffin about why Doolin has become the traditional music capital of Ireland. Bus tour - www.shamrockeradventures.com/
Doolin is absolutely fantastic, I go there for a few nights every year during my month long visit back home in Clare and the music and atmosphere is unreal everytime!
Nice---thanks for this. I spent the summer of 1983 in Doolin---really amazing. Met Kevin and tons of other great musicians. And I think he was a fairly new player then but still really good and now----well------reaaaaallly good. So cool to hear his voice again! Thanks
kevin griffin, geraldine and shay mc gowan are ledgends in doolin and in mc ganns pub.they make all musicians even bodhran players feel welcome [me being a bodhran player].and as for shelia the owner well she,s great for the sandwiches around midnight.thanks for the tunes gang.Ray and gang in Athlone Mick included.
There should be a great film made about Doolin and twud have nottin to do with music ayder! The politics of love and music and outsiders overwhelmed me one winter that I stayed there. I love the place and the People, especially Kevin Griffin, fair play to you Kev, you hung in !
I'm going to visit Ireland next month. Anyone can tell me how long is from Ennis to Doolin by public transport? are they connected by train or by bus? thanks.
