Agree! Those 'dark ambient' tunes fit so well to various Doom maps and WADs.

When I played DooM back in the mid-late 90s, the PC sound card was bery basic so the game had the soundblaster soundtrack version, and back then I didn't recognize the metal references. In addition to that, my style of play was the "cautious" because the game used to make me nervous as a young boy, and the ambient track played a part in that. However, this particular track became my favorite for some reason, and to this day it still is, even though the rest of tracks (for both games, Ultimate & II) are excellent and considered classic in the DooM community.

Have you heard the 3DO OST? Game ran like shit, but that OST was actually comprised by a garage band of sorts and directly imported into the game.

Metal doesn't fit this track

They fit different purposes. The metal one feels like what'd be played as a daemon army approaches and burns down a large force. The actual version fits its purpose, tense battle music for one man going on a rampage against daemons.

Then the mod , brutal doom is what ur looking for lol

@@snowydayssduhh9771 Smooth Doom with some music and texture mods would be a lot better to keep the vanilla gameplay.
