I love how the Glory Kill is a subtle reference to how the Spider Mastermind was infamously easy to kill in the classic Doom games with a point blank BFG-9000 shot.

What an incredible game. I had an immeasurable amount of fun playing this. I'm not sure a game has ever released so much testosterone and hatred from within me. It was truly relieving. My favorite part was the style of game that it was. Don't get me wrong, I love strategy games that take time and thought in order to succeed. But to have a game that caters to the ultra aggressive gamer is long overdue. From the Glory Kills to the Super Shotgun to the Chainsaw, it paid perfect homage to the original while amping up the intensity for modern times. 10/10. Fuck yes.

Just played through the whole game, to be honest this is one of the best game that I have played with in the past few years. The doom series were always my favorite. The composition of the music was perfect, really enjoyed every single moment of it. Hope they will release the expansion as soon as possible.

To clarify to everyone asking, It is my belief (I do not claim to know for certain) that this game takes place after Doom1, Doom2, and Doom64. At the end of Doom64, the UAC space marine we know as Doomguy vowed to remain in Hell so no demon could rise up again. In this game, it is stated that the tomb the main character was found in resided in Hell and was brought back to Mars for study. It is heavily implied that the demons of Hell eventually saw this space marine like a deity and he was bestowed powers while in Hell, even gaining the name "Doom Slayer". There is no timeframe as to how long he was there...but time could even move differently in Hell. Who knows? Like I said, I do not know for certain as a lot of things are ambiguous....but this is my belief. And with this story, it could be easily seen as a reboot. Doomguy has returned from Hell.

Just finished the campaign. 11hrs32min. I don't get it. Was Olivia sacrificed to summon this Spider Mastermind? Did she become the Spider Mastermind? Who was the Demonic Voice who talked? I don't think it was the Spider with that cool voice. Hmmm?

DOOM is one of the few titles that has always delivered while staying true to the concept.

This Mastermind is the shit! The one from the original Doom died to one BFG shot and got reused multiple times in D2 as a consequence, so I love how they handled making it more of a challenge in this game. I wonder, given its origin, if there are going to be anymore in the sequel if they make one.

I don't know why people are upset about this cliff hanger. I mean, video games, movies, and books do that, so you just cannot wait for the next one. And I thought the story was good. It was enough to keep me going. And to the people who are complaining about there not being enough info on certain topics, (like why doom guy was in a tomb exclusively) you had to explore hell for that info. Everything else, you find on little data chips.

I put this game down on the last level, the difficulty got out of control. And I haven't been able to bring myself back to finish it. So watching this gave me closure. Great game, one of the best single player campaigns I've played in a loooong time

Good Game, 10/10 recommend, had my mates watch me play. hearing them shout fuck him up to me on the 2nd boss battle with high octane music pumping. Thats how dooms meant to be played. So i say to the rest of you guys, get the game and go fuck em up.

All I could think about in the credits is doom guy bitch slapping Master Chief and all COD protagonists, while Stepping over Duke Nukems corpse. And sitting back on his throne as King of FPS. Allowing Valve to to be his right hand man and Blizzard as a lieutenant. Though he keeps a close eye at Gearbox, untrusting anything that isn't Borderlands

What an awesome game! Loved every minute of it. Took me forever to get through a couple of bosses since I didn't grab all the power-ups along the way. Made me better at battling though. Personally, I would like to see more hell and less outer space in the upcoming follow ups. I am also a fan of heavy cinematic cut scenes.
