Makes sense as Doom can be a healthy way to express anger towards without harming anyone while pills are good at masking symptoms not dealing with root causes. That's helpful for some but pills shouldn't be the standard end all solution
I can actually relate to this. I lost a friend around 2018 and felt so angry to the world because it was so unfair. I was always in a bad mood, but instead of taking it out on people I played Doom 2016 instead. I got so hooked into the game that I didn't even realize I was playing it for hours, so each time I start to feel sad and depressed about my friend again I just booted up Doom 2016.
Not gonna lie, this scene gave me chills, That’s one hell of a way to tell the player “The depths of hell have invaded earth, everyone is freaking the fuck out, 60% of the planet is currently consumed by demons, and the only one who can stop it is YOU. RIP AND FUCKING TEAR!” I’m annoyed I’ve held off on this game for so long.
I love both suits, but I can’t understand why some feel doomguy needs to be shrouded in mystery to the point it’s boring. The mystery of not seeing his face in 2016 was perfect, but I’m glad they showed him more as a human in Eternal. Ambiguity works great when first being introduced to a character, but it gets stale and boring through time if you ask me. I like having some of those questions like “What does he look like,” finally get answered. That’s why I love them both. Regardless, I was rocking that flame and zombie skin through the whole game. Those were straight 🔥
People liked the mysteriousness of the 2016 game because at the time most people thought it was a reboot/new character. A mysterious and godlike warrior that was once part of a knight army..But now people know it's the same man from the og games
Yea once we saw the sentinels bring out his helmet when they found him in the wasteland we instantly had an idea of how he looks. But not knowing who the slayer was in 2016 was great.
To this day...this is undoubtedly pure motivation. When you hear those E1M1 chords, you yourself not him realise your strength, true motivation that you can do anything and literally rip your obstacles in life apart. You are but one man, you are Corporal Taggart...and fellow game protagonists don't even come close...
I gotta agree that yah id should've had more multiplayer game modes like team deathmatch (doomslayers vs demons), free for all but its only demons fighting eachother and a horde mode that would've work so good in doom 4 doomslayers fighting against waves of demons that be a great game mode idk when they'll put out invasion but really shouldn't have delayed invasion it should've been there at launch singleplayer was great but multiplayer is bad lets hope they seriously bring in more game modes cause no one is just gonna play 2v1 battlemode after they finish the singleplayer
ya I agree completely. It was quite the startling disappointment, I didn’t know anything about the multiplayer prior to purchase just assuming they would obviously have the tried and true team deathmatch mode.. But after playing a few matches of battlemode the realization set in. Horde mode would be totally perfect for a game like this, 4 doomslayers against waves. Frankly they could have done anything else and it would have been better. They could have made it 2v2 with just humans but with ai in the middle attacking both and I would have liked it. But 2 player demons + demon ai VS 1 player slayer is just not a good idea.
Dead space awakened ends with the moons approaching earth. Doom eternal starts with humanity fighting back. It makes too much damned sense. Doom eternal is the dead space 4 we never got

Honesty, if DOOM Eternal kept the artstyle, enemy designs, and graphics of 2016, DOOM Eternal would have been even better. Only reason I prefer Eternal over 2016 is I just find the game to be more fun than 2016.
