It would’ve been badass, but that’s not what the Doomslayer cares about. He isn’t killing demons to be cool, or a badass. He just kills them because it needs to be done. He didn’t have some witty one liner for the dark lord because he didn’t see the dark lord as a threat. Just another demon to be killed without any fanfare, or thought.
@@Knegrslayer Ya even closer match. I used to compare him to General Zod from Man of steel actor Michael Shannon. 80% Zydrunas, 20% Michael. Cloning is going on somewhere I'm sure.
@@Rad-Dude63andathird Or sitting in a comfy chair on a quiet evening, reading a book. Or maintaining a 170 year old vintage computer, carefully replacing delicate parts of ancient electronics. Apparently we only see his "job life" in the games.
Yeah. No jokes, no sad speeches about how the Dark Lord ruined his life. Just “No.” That one word hits pretty hard. And shows how mentally scarred Flynn is.
They could have given him so many badass one liners to end the final fight But i think the simple "No" is far more brilliant because it's just simple, straight forward and blunt while also Intimidating af rather than cheesy.
@B A well the main reason so many companies have a mute protagonist is to make you feel like your the one in the game cause speaking can ruin submersion
I honestly like having him talk. He doesn’t talk A LOT, which im very glad they did, but a few simple words are good enough for me. Doom sure has come along way. Still a brilliant series
I think not having him talk sort of makes him more relatable if that’s even possible. You can give him your own voice just like in Skyrim and fallout when you can imagine your character is you
@Panel Deepak At this point Doomguy is such a character in and of himself not having him talk at all is like... catering to a part of him that is completely irrelevant at this point. Nobody on the planet pretends that "they're" the Doom Slayer. He's a Horror Movie Monster for Horror Movie Monsters. You're sharing his boots and looking through his eyes, but you're not possessing him. He is his own person.
@@daq_w I think it sounds deeper than Guts voice actors, if that’s what we’re going off. However, I’ve never heard what Guts sound like within the armor, like in the 2018 Anime. Can’t watch it 😅
Doomguy: talks during the flashback and show’s original helmet RU-vidrs: *dont care that he’s talking* WE’RE THE ORIGINAL DOOMGUY? Doomguy: says no RU-vidrs: OMG HES TALKING
I love the idea that he rarely speaks. It makes the moments that he does more impactful, and really helps emphasize the horror the demons must be feeling when they see him silently approach him. Never screaming, never yelling, just....killing.
How Doomguy kills is even scarier. It's just brutally efficient and thorough. No embellishment or prolonging demon's agony. There are too many demons to kill for him to be personal about it. Chainsaw the leg to make Baron fall over and then cut it's head apart straight from mouth. Fast, efficient and gets result needed: dead Baron.
Doomguy simply saying "No" after the final boss asks if he has anything to say to his creator is the most badass moment in any game I've ever played. It speaks volumes as to how little this man has to say to leave an impression, and I love the irony behind it since he is the epitome of "Actions speak louder than words." Easily one of my favorite game series of all time.
Imaging if he said: *"All this for a rabbit?"* *"Yes."* Edit: Holy shit guys, I am almost at 1k. I mean I didn't think a comment inspired by someone else's reply on a different comment would end up getting noticed a little bit.
You know Doom 3 was my introduction to the series, then Doom, Doom 2, Doom 2016, Doom eternal, and finishing off first time playthroughs is Doom 64. Doom guy's overall appearance and demeanor never really changed. Always a muscular white dude with a good jawline, green/hazel eyes, brown hair, and very very angry. And honestly I never put much thought into what he sounds like. A man who has fought and survived hell, learning everyone he loved died while battling demons, his hometown being the source of the invasion on earth, having PTSD so bad it's literally referred to has hell PTSD like it's it own thing, and finally deciding to stay in hell to prevent anymore demons from invading. I had no expectations and yet they were met exactly.
So many unused voice lines. Some of them show Doom Guy with an emotion other than sheer anger. A shame they didn't use any if them. It would've been nice to see, for a change.
Yes but doomguy is famous for being silent yes if they use some small lines or maybe showing his past with him talking but he is iconic for not talking
@Clu Rosencrans halo fans are a special bunch they do not like any new changes and rather have the exact same game with graphic overhauls I know some of them have differences and I’m glad for that I’m just saying how the majority of them sound like. for doom eternal is kinda short story wise and there’s a lot that’s just unexplained or solved half assedly making doomguy more verbal out of nowhere and making it quick either doesn’t work or does
"Have you nothing to say to your creator, before you strike him down?" - This might be one of the hardest hitting lines I have ever heard. Imagine the events in a mans life that would have led to this moment.
@@SoldierOfFate I done all three. He must reallllllly hate me. Right, time I got the BFG, the lava sword.... I'll need the chainsaw too. Got to prepare for a fight now.
@@Jedi-ge6lr Was the original audio meant for that, him warning the Khan Makyr? It sounds like something Doomguy would say to mankind (probably the UAC board) if they tried to screw around with interdimensional portals.
I really like that almost all his voice lines sound like they are said through gritted teeth. Really show that doomguy is just in permarage all the time
"Guts. Huge guts!" the fact they referenced that comic lol I know the "rip and tear" stuff is but that specifically for some reason is more amazing to me
Allow me to help you guys out. He only speaks during the arena scene where they’re dragging him in and off. After that he doesn’t speak at all until the end cutscene where just says no. Everything after that is just the end cutscene. No secret speech at any point in between or after those specific points.

I really wish those unused lines didn't get cut. I get why he sat in silent fury during the Mars incident, he didn't want to listen to Hayden/you-know-who because it was the UAC making the same mistake as before, but profiting off of it this time. When it comes to being around humans that genuinely want to help and not use him, I'm surprised he didn't talk. I guess he's just too used to it and prefers being quiet, since his home shows he's still as human as the rest of us.
I wouldn't mind him but I'd actually like bj's voice actor from wolfenstein to play him just because he is the great great grandson of William Joseph blazkowicz
What i love about the Doom guy first, is that he is shaved above all! And why is that, because he is a Marine. Now something at a very ultra levels of skills! 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Actually Conan speaks very valuable matters in his story. He gives prayer to Crom, participates in religious dialogue and tells why he hates Thulsa Doom so severely. Doomguy's only spoken line of dialogue (not in flashback) is just so blunt and matter-of-fact.
