Dark Arm316 I was waiting for this for a few years. I almost wanted to cry. When it cut to the “doom eternal” screen hearing that music with my headphones that’s when I knew it would be special.
We wanted doom guy not doom girl we wanted a man turned demigod not a rip off we wanted a bfg not a big lazer pistol we wanted blood guts n gore not talk n bore we wanted someone who can rip spins out not someone who gets owned by imps
“They don’t fear man or his armies they fear him they fear the mark of the beast” you know your badass if the literal demons of hell fear you more then the most powerful armies of mankind
The public probably didn’t know about the Slayer’s existence before the events of the game, so the prophet was likely referring to someone or something else. That makes the quote all the more profound.
Sninctbur He’s probably in this worlds bible or something. They probably view Doomguy as a mythological religious figure and the prophet is part of a cult following of the doomslayer at the end of days.
The slayer knowing that she is dead for sure, yet the anger, vengeance and prevention of this happening any further is what really drives him. It's subtle but with the amazing voice performance as you mentioned, they are able to open a pure action game with a cutscene that made all of us foam with rabid intent. I fucking hate demons.
I'm not joking, I realy feel this ...the slayer is a massive empath and in that woman's scream I feel it too. Intense .. I MUST stop this hell on Earth
They beg for help of the chosen one - the last and only hope for them.. you can hear people sobbing and dying in despair, trapped and lost inside the nightmare of demonic terror .. while the Slayers blood pressure rises and rises with each horrified human voice, as he picks up his gun with death in his eyes and psychotic resolve in his heart; he knows exactly what needs to be done - he will rip and tear until it is done, ALL OF IT... F@ck the chills, brings tears to my eyes every time and my gender is not even fluid!
I remember seeing this and thinking: “how did he get out of Hell?” Then I realized he is the Doomslayer and he probably slaughtered his way out of there, again
I just can't express enough how much I love this intro. The woman is crying, begging for help; and the only one who can fight them, the demons' worst nightmare, IMMEDIATELY answers her call!
Let's take a moment to really appreciate just how awesome Eternal's opening cinematic is. Not gonna lie; those last few seconds made/make me cry tears of joy, just a touch. "Somebody!!! P-p-please help us!!!" *racks shotgun*
Honestly, this is one of the greatest intros to any video game ever. I’ve never seen a better opening to anything, and this fully captures the essence of this game. The musical timing, the visuals choreography, everything makes me so hyped to play the game. And I don’t like FPS games!
After watching the trailer ages ago when they said the slayer has entered facility sent a chill up the spin but after playing this intro, my god! This is a whole new level of chills...... rip and tear till it’s done!
I dunno. I kinda liked later in the Phobos level “...The Slayer has control of the BFG. I repeat. All personnel be advised. The Slayer has control of the BFG.”
This opening scene is just spectacular. Even if at 2:10 where it is a slight mix. It makes the scene even more badass. Mick Gordon has out done himself yet again..
I'm over 30, but I had goosebumps and chills while watching this. Not only a love letter to old fans of the series but also one of the ultimate games ever made - Doom 2016 was already great, yet they managed to make it even better. Pure fun in a form of a video game.
@@joehand2156 that's dangerous. Your younger self would get too much testosterone, and grow up into your present self, causing a time paradox, from the sheer badass energy emanating from this video alone.
“Against all the evil that hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce...We will send unto them...only you...RIP AND TEAR,until it is done”
I like how both of these games follow similar themes with their openings. The opening of Doom 2016 ends with him looking at the dead body of a uac worker while Hayden tries to justify the death he's caused. In doom eternal he's listening to the radio broadcasts of people that are trapped and dying. And in both cases you can tell that he is PISSED. The fact that he really cares about humans, if even in the sense of pitying them, is really cool to me. It adds some depth to a character you don't really know much about.
@@uh8151 oh no i must disagree. it's just as spicy. instead of him looking at the mutilated body of a scientist whilst hayden tries to justify himself. now he is listening to the panicked slaughtering of humans. he is PISSED ASF in this intro. as the woman pleads for help. he picks up his shotgun once again ready to kill every single last demon in front of him.
The poem lines from doom and doom eternal : They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you, you will be worse. Rip and tear, until it is done. Against all the evil that hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce. We’ll send unto them, only you. Rip and Tear until it is done.
The Slayer's eye twitches with rage, anger and brutalness as he lowers the helmet that spreads fear to the hearts of the ones that defied the Slayer... The new god.
I think what gets me the most, in my headcannon anyway, is that Doomguy is listening to those calls for help and with each one he gets more and more angry. It's not that he just wants to slaughter demons, but that he also wants to save humanity as well. And he answers each cry with blood.
Making a DOOM movie shouldnt be as hard as hollywood is making it. Just get Brock Lesnar, put him in DOOMguy armor, and film the movie like Hardcore Henry. The beauty of DOOM os that it doesnt need to have any sort of deep story. Just show demons getting slaughtered by a one man army!
Yeah. Doom Slayer may be the one who bears the mark of the beast, destroyer of the hell-realm, but he's got heart. He didn't just let VEGA die, because he was innocent. For as Savage and as badass as he is, Doom Slayer is kind, and fun.
@@inkryption3386 right?i remember when he went to phobos base and the guy had a key card on his neck and doom guy gently pulled him to scan it meanwhile said guy probably shit his pants when that happened
The way that E1M1 starts coming in as you’re hearing the catastrophe happening on earth never fails to make me grin and get so hyped my heart starts racing
The survivors on Earth desperately cling on to what little hope remains, praying that a god is watching over them, that a god will come down and save them all. That god they pray for, and the only thing the demons fear, is you. (Doomguy)
I can't think of any game that makes you feel as if you ARE the character. My blood pressure kicks up, a maniacal grin creeps across my face and I can almost smell the gunpowder.
This intro gets rid of any anxiety, depression and/or doubt that has ever been or will be in subconscious Sends me shivers for a good 15 seconds before and after the shotgun pump
