OMG! I finally did it! I defeated that freakin Dark Lord! It took me 2 evenings and total 5 hours but I finally won this fight!!! Yeaaahh! What a relief. Frankly the hardest and the most exhausting, nerve-wrecking and least pleasant boss I've even fought to. Thank you everyone here for sharing your tips and tricks, very useful info in the comments as usual on YT, and of course thank you the author of this video! And good luck for those who are reading this comment in the future and struggling this final boss, read carefully all the stuff here, be patient, practice the routine and you''ll win I promise.
There's a pattern in every stage (this one isn't in the first one though). 1 - Dash, 2 - Normal sword attack, 3 - Green glow. 1 and 2 can vary in which comes first, but the green glow will always come after them. You can't be too close to him either (he'll just strike you away and regain health). If you stay about as close to him like the person in the video and avoid the dash and sword attack, it will always trigger his green glow.
Such bullshit, I use the hammer on the dogs and then he rams me and just regenerates again. I got to stage two and gave up for the night. This has to Be the most tedious frustrating boss of the entire game
Honestly, if you are a new player and struggling to dps this boss, I think it would be better to just use super shotgun to parry his green flash, hit him with the hammer, then use grenades and lock-on rocket spam. It should take him down to half health in one rotation. Plus it is easier to execute than hot swapping between ballista and super shotgun, and can even be done on console. I beat ultra nightmare this way, so I’m sure it will work on other difficulties.
I literally cant evade his shield bash. He hits me, and then hits me another attack immideatly after, and he is back to full health. Impossible fight :)
I also got a tip (from someone who beat dark lord ultra nightmare) use a high FOV and NEVER let him out of your vision. Also use energy shield to cancel his regeneration attacks. Also never spam dash. Make sure you always have at least 1 dash on you at all times in order to make sure you can evade his regeneration attacks.
This same strategy works on nightmare as well, except instead of quick swapping i like to use the turret mode on the chaingun and shoot two grenades and it usually lowers him to less than half his health on the first few waves. Also, instead of using the bfg i just use the hammer than glory kill the 2 fodder to get it back
This boss is by far the worst thing in the game, I've only gotten to the third level once and I genuinely don't thing my skill level is good enough to best this fuck. I've tried different strategies, different weapon swaps, it doesn't work for me. The Dark Lord makes me want to stop playing this game.
This battle is only easy if you master the quick swap at expert level like in the video. If you're a normal weapon wheel to Minigun turret user this battle is far tougher.
This fight is so bad i gave up, not just because i could not beat him but because it is just plain boring. I have better things to do with my time than fight a repetetive boring boss. This is just badly designed.
Probably the most boring, tedious boss fight I've ever endured, honestly a shit-stain on the game and a disappointing end to a decent series. Ah well, roll on the next instalment in 2025
@@ryth-2401 I gave it a second chance. First time I've spent 1.5 hour and achieved nothing. Second time I decided to come close to him from front and immidietly dash and jump away while still pointing supershotgun toward him. I've killed him in 15 minutes. But I still think that this fight is not well-designed.
@@olp3850 those things pissed me off so much. They always come out of nowhere and then you get the message saying you’re cursed, then you try chasing him and he teleports behind you continuously until you die. Fuck that prick.
@@ima_psykopathpsn8411 ikr. At least the super demons annouce themselves when they appear in a arena while a cursed prowler will sneakily curse you and telaport away that pesky bastard. And you better hope to God that you have a blood punch ready because if you don't you are as good as dead
0:08 lies. He once bugged out for me and did the glowing eyes on a diffrent attack while i was doing ultra nightmare. And no it didn't stun him when i shot him.
This fight is fair up until he starts summoning hordes of demons then, and only then it becomes a shitshow. Still not as Nightmarishly frustrating as the Seraphim though, somehow he does manage to out bs Khan Makyr, which is quite a feat.
There's a glitch with the marauders where they won't turn green and you have to reload checkpoint to get it to work. It's possible this boss is glitching out the same way.
2 years later and Im still stuck in and endless loop on the next to last phase. I either hit him when dealing with the spawned demons or get hit by him while trying to glory kill to regain the hammer. And Im on easy mode.....im so mad my freakin' jaw hurts from clenching it. I suck
I gave up lol...Terrible design flaws for a final boss, and I am a pretty decent Doom Slayer...Asking you to be balls to the wall the whole campaign and then sit and have a 2 hour waltz with Satan at the end makes no sense to me lol
Easily the hardest boss fight I have ever had the missfortune of beating. You got so much luckier with his sword swings. I kept myself in range and he would never use that green flash attack, for ages sometimes. Then the fight really becomes insane once he starts summoning an army since they spread out so much that often the hammer smash doesn't remove them. It usually only gets the dogs and Hellnight since they aggressively charge at you anyway. For a few phases I kept getting him down low then messed up and almost fully healed him...
White it seems pretty basic hit him and don't let him hit you but it can be hard to avoid being hit among all the chaos. This battle is the very definition of a stalemate. Even if you don't die; it's so annoying that it can just go on and on for ages as progress is so easily taken away. Thank god it does have check points otherwise this'd be a total slog. Admittingly that's why I'm here. To see if I can get rid of him quick enough in the last two stages in hopes he will not recover.
Try to chain more weapons in the mix. Use persiciobolt or rocketlauncher to get max damage. Maybe use grenades and blood punches aswell. Worked for me on ultra nightmare :)
This boss fight is ridiculous. Rather than beating him and completing the game and having good memories, I'll just delete the game and all my save files. Fuck this.
This boss is so easy and dies so fast, that I used it to grind exp for that samurai pain elemental reward. 45k exp per kill is just insane for how short this fight is :)
I have spent several hours on the fourth phase and i still can't kill this guy, I've done everything and still nothing. Sometimes i can get to phase 5. I'm fighting him on Nightmare. Edit: Disregard this comment, i beat him. Took me all night though.
My record is seven minutes on console...I actually have a lot of fun with this boss. Rarely does he ever feel like a threat...if anything those stone imps near the end of immoral were more difficult...great time though!
On normal difficulty, this guy wasn't too bad. Managed to beat him on my first attempt. Reading the comments here really helped out a lot, because I didn't want to see the actual gameplay beforehand.
I have tried for weeks trying to beat this boss using every tutorial I can find and I still can't beat him. I'm on the easiest difficulty and I still can't do it. I give up I fucking suck.
I need help, Everytime I get his health all the way down where he is flashing orange where I should be able to glory kill him to finish the boss fight, I go up to him and I go to punch him but I just do a blood punch and then his health resets to 100%. I've got his health all the way down like 7 times but I can't get past that part, what do I do? It's like my game is broken or something
@@ryth-2401 yeah came to the same conclusion myself that hammer is the best. Of course sometimesnit's the matter of luck if you have the hammer or not since this fight makes you very reliable on it
thing is his swipes and bashes can be countered by your chaingun´s shield mod as it absorbes damage.and without damage, there is no heal.and maybe i had it bugged but if i kept the hell knight alive (from the hell knigh+2 wolves combo) he either summoned nothing when the knight was still out or he only summoned other 2 wolves, never did he summoned the other combo
@@rahul-qm9fi sure,i mentioneed it for knowing not everyone is as agile to avoid getting hit by his sword swings and shield bashes,so,sharing my discovery
i've been trying to beat his fucking final phase for like half an hour now, but he keeps FUCKING healing and spawning the ghost demons and distracting me and then he hits me with the shield and heals and i have to do it all over and jfc i hate this fucking boss, it's 2 am and my hadns are cramping, fuck. also i'm playing on fucking i'm too young to die, this should be easy and yet it's a fucking nightmare that isnt fun at all.
1. He only heals when he hits you so be careful 2. His dogs are easy work. The hell knight can be taken down with lock on. And when he spawns a wave. Use the bfg or the hammer and glory kill the zombies so you can get hammer recharged
At least the archvile and marauder which the marauder is my favorite are annoying in a fun this boss is a one time thing never placing after I beat him Edit:I just beated him but at the cost of lowering it on too young to die as this entire first attempt was supposed to be entirely ultra violence which I hate myself for it because people can beat this gut wrenching soul crushing/draining nuclear waste dumpster fire cheapskate of a boss I’m looking to improve on ultra as I only play the main game on nightmare why do I do so decent on nightmare but can’t do guy wrenching soul crushing/draining nuclear dumpster fire cheapstake boss dark lord might be a 1 time thing the 3 missions where so easy on ultra violences this entire dlc is good 7/10 but ima need some improvement but that boss is the most room for improvement 😩
@@olp3850 I just beated the guy with out dying and I had to lives I fought him again on my previous saved game die once then on my second run I built up 10 extra lives just for preparations for dark lord fight I did not die once the Boss fight was so easy imma have to try on nightmare as I beated the base campaign in nightmare I might beat 1 & 2 in nightmare
I swear to god, I keep hitting him the second he flashes his eyes (when you’re supposed to of course) AND HE WONT FUCKING STAGGER. This fight is aggravating as hell. And then I dodge his shield bash, but then he gets health anyway. How the fuck is this a fair fight?
most shittiest bost fight ive ever done... Yeah lets take the most annoying bad design monster and put it a a boss and add even worse since he regenerate health.
