Criminally underrated. The string section sounds gorgeous, and the percussion section sounds crisp and fresh, like biting into an apple. Why do you have so few subscribers? This is honestly the best cover I've ever heard. This is my favorite piece from the original OST, and I would frequently let the entire theme play before I advanced to the next level after the intermission. You have done this great justice, and I salute you.
This track always summed up the poetic dissonance of Doomguy's existence, to me. The violin strings evoke a sadness at what he is eternally fated to do - and then, the rest feels like him licking his wounds, pulling himself up, and going back into the fray against the hellspawn.
This is the best track in all of Doom, in my opinion. As I was listening to this track a year or so ago, I realized it is a variation piece. I am currently working on writing variations on this theme for solo piano, titled "Variations on a Theme from Hell."
