frost giant electronics - architect of reality electronic audio experiments- model fet does it doom - aghartha does it doom - baghdad does it doom - walpurgis
I appreciate that you are actually playing a guitar for each test. Also, it is proven that a real guitar knows when a little thin man is trying to play Doom. Your presentation was of value to me.
Wow, all of the pedals sound fantastic!! I want all of them. The Does it Doom Agartha really stood out to me. I like the long sustain and thick fuzz you get out of it. Definitely would like to see an episode on it. Thanks for a great video and safe travels!!!
The Model FET is VERY close to the real amp Model T, maybe a little less beefy but at that point it is being picky, plug it in a power amp and a 4x12 and you won't notice the difference. The Walpurgis is pretty much a Tony Iommi in a box, chops not included lol But I prefer the Architect of Reality for that tone because it is much more versatile.
I have a DiD Doomcaster boost at the start of my chain before the Modelfet at the end to add some juice-the difference is wild. I have an Agartha too which I also love. The Modelfet is versatile-I use it genuinely as a preamp with a little of its grit for clean sounds as well as it doom sound plus with a cab sim it is great to record with (for my home use at least). I don’t have the Tony box but that is a solid sabbath sound.
I've been experimenting with pedal board power amps ( a Carvin Mach 100 on this board) I'm running a life pedal into the model feT on one channel and the Walpurgis ( boosted internally) through the other - running each side into obc212v cabs - fucking HUGE sound! 🤘🎸💥 Got a pretty cool 4 amp switcher that I've been itching to use - thinking about another two ( one Boss IR2/recto, with the other an organ sound via the ehx C9) I am the King Doom Hamster of my basement! 🤘🤣💥
Simply another killer video Bro. They all sound awesome, don't think you could go wrong with any of these pedals for Doom. Like chocolate or strawberry its just whatever is your flavor I guess!
I really want that Frost Giant Architect and the Does it Doom Baghdad, but the Baghdad is sold out everywhere and can't find anyone selling it 2ndhand :(
I’m getting the Walpurgis and Elder God, have Aghartha. Someone says the Walpurgis does not distort like yours ??? Do you have Walpurgis up all the way ??
Nice demonstration. The Walpurgis gets you the Iommi tone. Love my Frost Giant AOR. Want the Bagdad as soon as I can swing the funds, priorities first. I'm keep telling you that that Kuro Exegol is far better than the Model FeT.
@@TheDistortionPrinciple Well yeah but then you're just using them as distortion pedals and not preamps. Going preamp into preamp is going to colour the sound of the pedals in a completely different way, sort of ruins the concept
@@Slamthulhu i understand how that works. If we are being on a dedicated pre amp would be even better. As i said though not all amps have a loop so i ised them in the most universal way. Thanks for watching either way
Great video but you have no written list of the pedals. You also did not say the brand names. When you said the model names it was not pronounces clearly enough for many who have different accents or English is not their first language to make sense of. Pedal names are often near nonsense names so they are really hard to make sense of. RU-vid is all over the globe players are in every country. Prices are really useful even if they are ball park. When you see or hear a pedal yourself I bet the first thing that goes thru your head is ...How Much? My guess is the 3rd pedal is an Earthquaker Acapulco Gold which is $130.00 USD world wide. We are all familiar with USD and prices are fixed world wide. Even so I must save for a pedal and not because I am a kid. I am 76 and have a very small pension.
Hey man, just discovered your channel. Great job, it’s hard to find someone that automatically clicks with your style and taste around here! I would like to ask you for advice, I’m a beginner player. I have a Dunwich Amp DA120, 1st gen (the square one), that I use as my main tone. I have been using Amplitube to emulate the Orange stack, but I would like to go a step further. As you can imagine, I’m looking for a deep, dark tone similar to the Dopesmoker (plus a few pedals I’m using for my clean parts as The Depths and Afterneath from EQD). I thought about a Model Fet + an IR loader pedal. I really dig the IR pack from Fuzzlord Effects, and initially that would have been the alternative. When I found your channel I discovered the Laney LA30BL and I couldn’t believe the price…much more affordable than the new OR30, and it sounds amazing. The thing is, I would use it with a Two Notes Captor, and send it to my audio interface at home (on rehearsal / live I would use it with a cab, but as I still don’t have a band that’s not an issue). You are using the Fet into the LA30, so you’re the man to answer this. Would you recommend me to ditch the Model Fet and go straight to the Laney? Or the Model Fet, in your opinion, does a good job by itself to emulate an amp? Thanks in advance for your help!
Thanks for the kind words! I just sold my la30bl only because i had alot of bills that need taken care ofbetween the laney and the modelt fet i would go laney all day! In your scenario i would bother with the la30. I would ge the LA Studio head. The 30 watt as louder than many 100 watts so the studio qould suit your needs and it has the two notes built in. I plan on getting one later this year
Thanks for the straight answer! It is definitely an investment but when I saw the price (with the Orange, Matamp and the new Sunn in my head) I instantly understood that Laney is not the kind of company that take advantage of the doom/stoner hype. It’s definitely more money than a Model Fet + IR Loader, but at the same time it’s a valve amp, we’ll priced, that in my case can be attenuated with the two notes captor. Time to save! Hope it’s still available in 2024-25, I also have quite a few bills to cover!
