I’ve been on the fence about getting one of these to run as a preamp and this demo just put me over the edge. You understand dirt pedals and heavy music in a way few other gear demo channels do, ty for your consistently quality work!
Right?! Love it. There is a little trick there, though. I recorded three tracks of the solo, two with a lot of delay, these are panned left and right, third one without delay in the center.
Another fantastic demo, thank you, and it's great to see tracks up on Bandcamp, too - happily purchased :) I still have my hopes up for an EP someday...
That's awesome. I've been wanting a fuzz war and it keeps randomly popping up. I guess it's time. Also, thank you for not talking. I hate the personality approach, just SHOW ME PEDALS haha.
Holy crap dude, this sounds so friggin good! I just got the email newsletter from John at EAE that had a link to your video and I’m glad I checked it out!
Dude you're a god damned wizard. Idk how you got such a usable tone with that Acapulco Gold DIMED in the intro!! Dial it past 4 and mine overpowers everything. Awesome to see and even better to hear. Sounds great!
You should sell a compilation of your tabs! Seeing how many folks ask about them on your videos and how many you link for free, it might be worth the time it takes to write out the tabs to charge Idk 5€-10€ for a compilation. I would buy it! Haha
Amazing video production man I really enjoy this new format I hope u redo the Acapulco gold video With this new format too I wanna see ur playthrough. That composition really get into my head, simple bending then open chord with slow tempo and constant hi hat
Absolutely stunning, are you connecting directly into the effects loop Return? So guitar into model FeT / other pedals then into Return? Or are you using the effects loop in non master mode?
Yes, exactly, Model feT goes directly into the FX loop return. So to say, from the left side of the screen comes the guitar and right side of the screen leaves directly into the FX loop return. Master or non master mode doesn't matter. All the controls, gain, eg, master etc. is bypassed.
Great sounds.Subscribed. How do you keep definition on the Yamaha tuned to drop A ? What gauge strings do you use ? It always sounds so 'in-tune'. Thanks.
Okay the Life Pedal sounds really a little bit weak in comparison to let's say the Fuzz War. But I do like the transparency you get in the chords. However nice demo! Grüße aus Berlin!
All your videos are amazing! I have a question I'm having difficulty finding an answer to and your clearly an expert. Can you tell me if high gain pickups work for this genre? Something like a Seymour Duncan Nazgul?
Thanks! Yes, sure. As you might have seen, I often use a clean boost before pedals to get a decent amount of dirt. A higher output pickup fixes that. According to a thread in PBOAD a lot of folks are even using active pickups for that style.
Hey which Suhr reactive load do you recommend? I assume you're using the regular one as loading your own I.R. Is that correct? I've been pulling my hair out trying to go the tradition cab mic route. Also it would be nice to record at night, Love your videos!
Thanks :) I'm using the Suhr Reactive Load I.R. You can load your own IRs and use it with Headphones or capture the raw output of the amp and use IRs in the DAW. For me it was a game changer. I never had much luck with micing cabs. I find it hard to dial in a good recroding tone, when in the same room as the cab. It's difficult if you don't have a seperate, isolated recording room, where you can directly hear what you record. Also playing and recording at night without disturbing family and neighbors is great!
@@OscillatorDevices I went on a shopping spree! Model fet, apapulco gold, plumes and a fryette IR load. I already have the life pedal. I wanted the suhr but couldn't find a good deal. Jammed along with you on the track. Good times!
So one more thing that confuses me: the Life Pedal isn't modeled at all after the Model T, although it mimics the typical Sunn sound? And after all it is just a Rat with Boost and an octave-function? Or did EQD also included the Acapulco Gold sound in the Life Pedal?
Apparently, the band is using Rats with an analog octave up into the Model T. So, the Life Pedal is supposed to recreate only the pedals they're using.
@@OscillatorDevices you can buy from him directly! He's based in Italy. There's a recent video from fuzzed drones comparing 4 model t preamp pedals, the model fet and Exegol stand out i think, with the Exegol sounding a little better. He compares them with an actual model t 1st Gen.
Didn't know he's from italy. Yes, saw that video, but not sure. I think the volume was not well balanced. But it shows the compressed sound from the Model feT very well. I bought the Model feT from Pedalmarkt.com in Germany.
@@OscillatorDevices to tell you the truth I liked Exegol more in this video, but couple of videos back he did a straight up comparison between the 2, and there the model fet sounded a lot more amp like, whereas the Exegol sounded more like a distortion pedal
@@saturnskull1242 I remember they wouldn't fit through the tuner on my RS620 and the Cyclops has 25.5 scale length, so .12 are plenty. I have a Bob Balch which is even worse, .60 Low E string don't fit the tuner.
