Yeah. Multiplayer achievements in singleplayer games don't count. Ever. Fuck that noise. Don't let that shit hold you back from completing games. Or from being on your channel. Keep up the good work.

Dude, I would ignore any multiplayer trophies from now on. You'd get way more done if you just stuck to single player completion. Play the multiplayer and review it if you want, but don't count it towards your completion percentage.
Yeah, I agree with this sentiment. The multiplayer is, basically, a different game. We, of course would love to hear your take on it but I don't think any of us expect you to complete that. After all, a lot of multiplayer modes are designed so that they HAVE no completion, just a way to keep peeps playing. Mad respect and keep it up!
I'm so happy to see you adjusting completion criteria! Multiplayer milestones meant to be completed over a game's intended lifespan should never keep you from putting out such an awesome episode on such an incredible game!
Oh god. Screw multiplayer for completion. You made the right decision with that. Specially one like this. Honestly? I wouldn’t even count achievements (or things not being tracked within the game) as part of completion. But I tend to be pretty lax about such things.
Yeah, if you were to try and complete every animal crossing game you would be at it for years unless you used time travel and even then it takes quite a while
Will Jones plus when you time travel the games tend to fight against you. I mean I guess technically completing the game would entail collecting every single item, getting all your debt paid off and being recognized by the hha... which if you cheat a bunch shouldn’t be too hard I wouldn’t think, and of course each game has various other objectives which probably count toward completion. But again it’s just not the sort of game you really plan on completing... sorta like the multiplayer mode for doom lol
I am a PERSON prose is basically poetic writing, but not necessarily needing to have rhymes or a specific pattern. Very descriptive, lots of creative adjectives and phrases and little writing tricks.
I think you'll actually enjoy completing Doom Eternal more than this game! Not only does Doom Eternal feel more suited for completionists than the previous game, but most of the collectible items are more essential as they continuously upgrade and enhance the gameplay experience, and they're much more rewarding to collect! Heck even Markiplier was trying to find every single collectible item in the game, and he's not usually the completionist type of gamer!
I don’t 100% games very often, but Doom eternal was so fun I actually ended up nearly finishing it. I’m not an absolute god at games and I value my sanity so I refuse to go through the game on Ultra-Nightmare, but I did everything else, and I can safely say that it’s definitely worth completing, it’s a lot of fun
YES!!!! We did it!!! We stopped the Completionist from going crazy over impossible online challenges no sane human should ever try!!! Times and completion criteria may change, but metal and DOOM is eternal!!!!!! Great video as always!!!!!!

You are right they weren't meant to be completed for completion's sake but were there to give those who dedicate their entire gaming self to this game and play it endlessly. My uncle showed me the first Doom when I was 9 and it blew my tiny mind and scared the absolute crap out of me. He still plays the original on pc to this day. People still make custom levels for the game so he has never run out of content :D
The very concept of 'completing' a game is already hard to define. Achievements are at the mercy of the developer and multiplayer achievements are at the mercy of fellow players. There's no one standard for what complete means, and some are so insanely complex or rare that it doesn't feel like a test of your skill but of patience. Complete how you want to complete, Jirard. You already go way deeper into these games than I ever would.

I think what he means by reboot is that the game is much different to the old games. It still has the spirit of doom but overall the lore and story is expanded on. So in a way it is kind of a reboot.

Cool. So it turns out that Doomguy from the old games and the Doom Slayer are the exact same person. After he decied to lock himself in Hell at the end of Doom 64, he was injured and found by an ancient band of warrior kings that had allied with the antagonists of Doom Eternal. He became the Slayer through them. Because of that, I consider Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal more sequels than a reboot.
@@katherinedickerson2334 Thanks for the spoiler warning, and now i'm giving mine to anyone reading my comment. SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!!! They did kind of reboot the franchise since Doom 3 has been completely omitted. Doom 64 is where they started with the Slayer and it came after Doom 2 and before Doom 3. I guess they could have just retcond Doom 3, unless i'm missing something.

I’m 39 years old. So, when I was in middle school a kid sent me home with a 3-1/2” floppy of wolfenstein 3D. I was blown away for the time. It wasn’t long before he was telling me about Doom. Let’s say that was the 1 and only computer game I got into and hooked on for a time. It’s hard to convey to those younger how pivotal Doom was back then. I had never seen anything like it. So even to this day the Doom franchise commands respect. I just wanted to tell my Doom retrospects.
Thank you for being willing to do this despite achieving all the multiplayer junk! I'd much rather have a stream of enjoyable videos from an excited host then a defeated host playing half as many games!
There's no 'multiplayer' in 'completionist'. If they want multiplayer achievements done by someone, may they pray to the circles of hell to summon..... The Multiplayernist
Great work for doing what you always do This game has only one absolutely general rule : If you have to stop to shoot at your enemies, you're doing it absolutely wrong
Its probably because it cant be completed. Games like Animal Crossing, The Sims, Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley might have short term and long term goals to reach, but none of them really end; they are meant to be played indeffinately.

Honestly the change to your criteria is a good choice, it makes the rest of us feel better about not even trying to do that shit lol, and if it makes your job more enjoyable then all the power to ya!
Then Doom Eternal makes the doom slayer kneel and listen to the conversations instead of "bla bla bla *reloads shotgun for the ONLY TIME in the game* Best part of the intro is that Doom Guy reloads the shotgun Once and thats it no more reloading.
