Ok there’s no way you are 70! You look amazing and do a great job of explaining the function and descriptions of these bags! I love the mini on you - I know the difference in size is not a big difference however it seems to fit better on you. The color is perfect with your hair and skin tone. I feel a good bag will make or break an outfit. That color enhances whatever you are wearing! Love it 😊

Your theory about the weight is so on point, that’s like Senreve bag weighting more than it should on the shoulder because the bag lean forward when carry. I love how thorough you are when you talk about these bags, so informative in deciding factors.

You will be so happy with the mini. I could see how it was cutting at your neck. You would be shifting it constantly and that wouldn’t be pleasant. Enjoy your new bag. Mine is on a chair ready to go out. I’ve been using the Dooney letter carrier to go to the grocery store. It’s a smaller vertical shape crossbody and I find it convenient when I don’t want to carry a lot and want my hands free. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Good information! Depends on ones preference and your right the bigger one is better for you. I bought the micro in navy because I use to be a huge boho bag carrier but at my age now 62 I've switched to those cute little mini styles just to hold a wallet my smart phone & keys etc.

I think you made the right decision keeping the mini. I also agree on the extra piece keeping the strap down. I’m 69 and have the small, which I really love. Would like the mini but not enough room. I don’t like having things so tight they’re not easy getting in and out. Enjoy your new bag! I so appreciate the in depth comparisons! Take care.

I am partial to the micro based on size, but definitely understand your concern with the weight. My micro came this week and it looks nano sized compared to seeing yours. The natural also scuffs easy. I say wear in good health whichever brings you comfort and joy.

The micro is beautiful but you have to go with what works for you. Your explanation made sense. The straps on some of my smaller crossbody bags do chafe against my neck, but they are light enough that it isn't a problem. The color of both bags is gorgeous. Happy carrying!

TFS! This makes perfect sense that the strap placement and “concentrated” weight is wearing so differently even though it should be smaller = lighter. I just purchased my first Dooney and Burke Florentine Satchel (Slate) and it’s not here yet. I know I really wanted the largest so I went ahead and bought the chestnut too. The (micro)mini and nano are so cute and I wanted a lighter weight option. ALL your details were so incredibly helpful! I now understand these smaller options might not really be best for me.

I just got a mini in black black and I love it. I have shoulder and neck issues as well. Btw you look no where near 70. You look fabulous!

I love my micro black black. I also have a Florentine laurel crossbody that I adore. I tried a mini and a small and they were both too big and heavy for me. I also think I’m the only crazy person who enjoys the small opening on these bags 😂. I’m glad Dooney gives us so many options when it comes to this style so that we can get the one that fits our needs.

I’m so glad you did the comparison video! I have a mini in the chestnut and was considering the micro in another color but lately I haven’t liked heavy bags and where the straps sit really affect the weight. I have a bag I carried that sits at the base of my neck as well and gives me shoulder pain and headaches. I switched bags to a different style with the same items in the other bag and don’t get a headache or shoulder pain due to the way the strap sits on my shoulder. I would say you would be happier with the mini because otherwise you could be in pain and that’s no fun. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely keep the mini since it feels better balance-wise. 🙂 I personally can't wear Dooney's with the narrow straps because they cut at my neck, so I would like wearing the micro more. Your ultimate reason though doesn't phrase me at all! 😃 You aren't the only person who feels that way though. It's a big deal to many.

That’s a beautiful color! I have both of those sizes in black as well as a small in natural and all I can say is that Florentine leather is gorgeous yet heavy.

I'm a little late to the party but I definitely agree that the flapping piece of the strap drives me crazy! And most the time the piece that helps keep it flat slides off any way. I don't know why Dooney has made this so confusing on the sizes on this bag! I started to review all the measurements and wondered why they wouild do this??? 3 sizes is enough! I would not have thought about the weight being heavier on the smaller one. I appreciate your attention to detail!

That extra bit on the straps is so nice! It drives me insane that my bags do not have that extra piece to keep the strap down. I agree, Dooney should have that on all their bags. I love the florentine satchel but I'm scared of ruining the leather. I only have pebble leather so far.

If I were starting from scratch and able to choose what's available now, I would likely just get the Mini in Black, Bordeaux and a brown shade. When I was buying up the small size I was working,/traveling and carried a planner, or tablet and needed a bigger bag and I wanted to match more work outfits. I don't need as big of a bag now, or that many colors, but already have them. The primary reason I got the Micro bags now was I need something smaller and I don't want it too close to the small size that I already own. I think going to the Mini is a perfect choice for you given you have both bags in your possession and can pick. TFS

Thank you for sharing. I have the Micro in Bordeaux, Natural,, and Black. They hold all the essentials and for me the micro is a good size for every day and they are beautiful. I would not carry any of the Florentines on an extended trip- Years ago I had the Mini in Chestnut, Teal, and Black- There wasn't that much difference between the "Small" and the Mini so I sold the three Minis and kept my black /black small. You are leaning towards the Mini so go with what feels good to you. Happy Holidays!

I totally agree with you. That extra leather loop thing for the bag would have been a deal breaker. I need my strap on the bag to be smooth not wonky. Plus I take care of my bags cuz they can be pricey. I put the strap inside the bag when I store my bags, without the leather loop, it can get bent and not look good. Great job on comparison. Both are beautiful. Thanks for highlighting the differences. I find this so interesting. The lack of the little strap keeper is my pet peeve also. I just received a bag that doesn’t have it and it’s really bugging me. I have several that don’t have it actually. I have even searched online for something that I could use but I can’t find anything. I don’t know why Dooney would use such different sized hardware and a different strap on two such similar bags. Hi there nice lady! I love your videos and I love all the detailed information you put in this one. I’m very interested in all those measurements and weight differences and how it sits on your neck. By the way, the little leather things that keep the end of the strap down are called “keepers” and it drives me nuts too when the strap curls up. I don’t know why Dooney cheaps out and doesn’t put those on every one of their straps. Sometimes I think they don’t have any women designers or consultants. Thanks for what you do!!!

Definitely keep the Mini. You mentioned many similar attributes that both have. However, the distinctions between both bags is that the Mini feels lighter on you, the strap has the extra loop AND you're more likely to reach for it than the Micro. I admit, I hate the three part straps, lol! 😂That flopping extra strap drives me bonkers.🤪 I hope Dooney comes out with shoulder pads for the straps because that also makes a difference in the comfort of a crossbody bag. Both bags are gorgeous, OMG that color is stunning.😍 I wear a lot crossbody bags and weight distribution makes a huge difference. East/west bags tend to be more comfortable than north/south silhouettes. Also, what makes a difference for me is the width of the strap and how far down it hangs. I prefer to have the body of the bag to hang between my upper and lower hip area. I tend to be a fast walker so I keep my bags away from my legs area, don't want anything to break my stride.😉🚶‍♀️I hope this helps but I think you already made great points for keeping the Mini.😃 Btw, I finally received the Coach Dreamer Shoulder Bag w/Whipstitch detail on Thursday and I just returned it to the outlet store today. I already knew that I might get one with a microfiber lining, which I did, but I was not aware of other changes they did with the bag. According to the website description, it's supposed to be glovetanned leather. Honestly it doesn't feel like that at all, it feels like smooth leather, not soft and pliable like you'd expect from glovetanned leather. When I ran my hand across the leather, it felt too structured. I have a Coach Dreamer wallet that's smooth leather so I know what that feels like. I simply did not like the feel of the leather. I never knew this but I guess I prefer more natural leather.🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, I noticed the lining of the inner middle zip pocket has the fabric lining I see on my Cassie, not the light colored fabric that people mention seeing on the 1941 collection. I thought about the microfiber lining not withstanding wear and tear like leather would so back it went. I was at the outlets, so I hopped over to the Fossil Outlet and found a Fiona Crossbody for a steal. It was on the clearance area, the metal key hangtag was missing but it only cost me $30 and change. I was like did I hear correctly...thanks for doing video cuz I was on the fence with both as well and one felt heavier to me when I checked them last year...so this helped with the opening and scratching your hand etc... I experienced that and said forget it and chose another bag... So, when I do get it I know the mini is the one.. Thx😇

This is my 2nd time watching this video. I just placed my first Mini order in the color pale blue from Ebay. They still have plastic on the hardware so it might be a new bag. The seller has wrong dimensions, wrong sku number and the seller typed notes says it is a mini. (Likely they used a previous item profile from a similar bag.) Waiting for seller to answer if it has a 2 part or 3 part strap before they ship it. This video is very helpful in trying to determine which bag it is. They are so similar. TFS

Beautiful bag. The larger one seems to feel better for you. I think the bag is quite large and has a tendency to overwhelm your small frame.

I actually bought a med satchel but it was like luggage🧳 so I went to the outlet to "see" a small size in steel blue, it worked so well, I bought another in bourdeaux like urs... Luv this color! 🔥. Ilene both bags are very nice and I myself like the smaller and lighter bag. Every single ounce makes a difference when you carry the bag. May I suggest you don't return one too quickly. Hello!! I definitely prefer the mini over the micro. I have bought the mini and loved the look and the feel of the bag, but sent back as it is just too small for me. Even the small is too small for me, lol. I am a big bag person and at my age with back issues I need to use a smaller bag, but once you get used to something it’s hard to change. The micro would be extremely to small for me. I definitely think you made the right decision though in choosing the mini. The only thing I liked more about the micro was the thick chunky hardware. For me the micro is the winner cause it has the look of a crossbody not the mini , I’m all about crossbody since the lockdown . Both of them are heavy anyway

You are truly the Sherlock Holmes/Columbo of this era, great investigative detail, you need to be at the Dooney table when they are discussing these bags 💡The issue with the shoulder strap placement is something everyone should pay attention to, it may not be a problem today, but what about the future?🤔The straps in front of the Mini are a bit longer, which may contribute to the handle opening and the leather on the Micro looks thicker, which may contribute to the weight. I know this is something you probably would not do, but I use to put a rubber band around the flappy end of the shoulder straps to keep them down. Anyway, the Mini is the keeper, I truly enjoyed this video, you and your family have a blessed , happy and safe holiday👏🏾👍🏼🙏🏿

HI love! I personally have a mini and a medium and I personally like the size of the mini because it's a big enough bag to hold daily essentials but it isn't the largest bag in the world. BUT, what I did notice while using the mini is that, although it seems bigger from the outside, it is pretty small on the inside when it comes to actually storing things. We can't really count the top portion, which flips over, as space. So, for me, the micro would be WAY too small. Both bags are lovely but to help you out to the best of my ability, I'd say "mini" :) Stay well! xx

Totally agree with you on those "strap flaps"! Why Dooney didn't add another leather slider thing is beyond me! I've actually ordered other used Dooney straps off of ebay JUST to take the loop off and sew it onto the strap I wanted to use so the ends wouldn't flap like that! Or, I've even ordered another new strap from Dooney that didn't have those! Only problem is, Dooney does not sell Florentine straps, so if it's a florentine, you're out of luck! I don't know why they don't sell florentine replacement straps, I think many people would order them! All in all I think you made the right choice even though that was the micro is adorable... It comes down to preference and what works for you. I don’t have a mini to compare the micro to as far as weight. I don’t put too much in the micro as it is, so it’s relatively light for me. It seems like you’re leaning more towards the mini? They’re both really nice bags though! Keep us updated with what you decide!

I think you should keep the mini because like you showed the micro hits at your neck whereas the mini is more comfortable as it hits over toward your shoulder. Also I don’t like that the micro doesn’t have the extra leather piece to hold the long part of the strap down. It will curl which would make me crazy. I think I told you I have the black in small and I could probably go with a mini if I ever decide to get another. Your color is gorgeous. I’ve been trying to decide between that burgundy and the natural. I made that long strap into 2 pieces - a double strap - to carry over my arm. The small is of course heavier. Great video on those finer points between the 2 sizes.

Remember when COACH & D&B used real brass hardware? I bought the medium one like yours in chocolate on eBay. Love it. Had an ink mark on the inside suede which I got out with an Emory board! The leather smells wonderful!

I think it’s odd that the mini has a more narrow strap than the smaller micro. Did you look at those dogleash clasps, too? The micro has huge ones to accommodate the thicker strap, which probably adds to the uncomfortable weight. So interesting! I found the narrow mini strap uncomfortable, so I actually bought a thicker Dooney strap.

Love both bags. I have both sizes . If you were so worried about the strap, why not buy both bags and exchange straps when you use the small bag?
