I remember when I started in sales, I would keep a track log of how many houses I approached, how many people I talked to, and eventually how many sales I did. One day it was really bothering me about the rejections. So I took a look at my track log, and asked myself how many people did I talk to today? It was 117. Then I asked myself, how many people were rude to me. The answer was 1 or 2. So I said to myself 115/117 people were nice to me today that is 98.3%. So who really was the asshole today? Was it me? Or was it the 1-2 people? Door knocking after that, never really bothered me
Sorry for the late comment but this is so true, I try to knock at least 100 doors a day and 5/7 days I don’t get a single rude comment on the 2/7 it’s someone that is more than like just having a rough day
I've committed to door knocking daily. I started about 3 weeks ago and have knocked about 600 doors and have 1 listing already. I think I may have 2 more listings potentially! It's an awesome prospecting method! I LOVE it now!
"What you embrace, will erase. What you resist will persist." "Where you put your attention, you put your focus, where your focus goes, energy flows." :o
I was so close to not getting off my car this morning the negative thoughts were winning. Then l watched this video and embraced the fear and ended up knocking on over 30 doors but I closed one deal! Thank you for everything that you do. I aspire to be a positive light in this world like yourself.
Bryan..you are an amazing guy. Just got the rudest guy on the phone cold calling and I cried!! This video just turned it around for me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiring others.
Just started door to door on my first week. Great motivation especially when you said you don’t want it bad enough. Quote of the day. You must want it bad enough.
I stood in front of my first house for almost 40 minutes when i was a paint salesman before forcing myself to knock. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
This is the exact boat I’m in. This is why I’m watching this video right now 😂. And it’s imperative that I do this because I absolutely want and need the work.
Whenever I get nervous, I just remind myself that I'm just a tiny organism on a floating rock filled with billions of other organisms in an endless universe. When you look at a situation extremely broad like that, it really takes your fear out of talking to another person because suddenly you realize their opinions don't mean shit. Well, at least that's what works for me.
But what if that organism has something deadly e.g. a gun, and says get tha fuck off my property? Or has rabid organisms surrounding it e.g. pit bulls? I guess maybe I need to consider the area, but trying to find those off market deals.
I have been doing Solar d2d for 2 months and I’ve been losing motivation and getting extremely anxious before knocking . This really helped me thank you !
@@sebastianmorales4451 I’m now 10 months in , it got better . Now every door is just another door. Objection handling gets better over time and you learn how to talk to any type of people. Made 30k this year , def is worth it.
Just started today. I couldn't even get myself to knock one door tonight I was so anxious I felt like I was about to have a panic attack lol. Any update from you guys?
@@JadonHillI like to warm up but knocking houses that have no cars just to get the feeling of knocking then when you’re ready go to houses with people at them lmao
I was a teen mom. Single and disabled. I hustled to survive. I was 18 and a guy handed me $5 and told me to go get a fucking job. I wanted to go home and cry. I stayed, I conquered. Now as a newly licensed Realtor I giggle thinking of that $5 moment. What a lesson. I cherish that as a moment to grow as a stonger, thicker skinned person. No quit in me. Thank you BC, you rock as always!
I've noticed that your videos have gotten more and more passionate lately. It's awesome to see how much you really care about and believe in what you have to say. Your videos are the best BC.... Keep rocking it
Love your content Bryan! I’ve been ringing door bells for 14 years and its what I have built my business around here in Sacramento, Northern California.
BC is a Freaking Beast!!! I have been in Door 2 Door sales the last 12 years, Alarms for 10 and RE for 2. I've recently become paralyzed with fear for some unknown reason, and when I watch a BC video I get pumped, and get that desire to get back out and push! BC is a hell of a motivator!
I just got into solar sales and I don't want to get dependent on the company leads most of them suck anyway lol so I want to dive into the door knocking side of the business and this just gave me the encouragement I need it, thank you thank you thank you!
Just discovered your channel watched two videos and wow man you have great stuff seriously. I’m 19 and just started knocking and it’s my first week, hardest thing I have ever done and honestly the only reason why it’s hard for me is my confidence. I’ve been trying to work on my confidence this week because It took me a lot to knock on my first door and when I pitch my voice leaves me when I get nervous. This video really helped me look at things in a different perspective so thank you again, definitely going to start watching more of your videos and can’t wait to see how much I can progress in the next month!
I have social anxiety so door knocking was hard. I found just to be friendly and tell myself they are more scared of you than you are of them lol. First day I tried I made 2 sales out of 8 ppl I talked to. Once I got 1 person locked down i found my anxiety quickly dropped. Almost like a flow state and would ride off that momentum. If you have confidence in what you do I feel like ppl can read that off your energy. I feel like I'm the best in my industry so it's a big advantage. If someone is selling a product perhaps research that extensively. Really become a expert in it and that should help give you the balls to speak about it with confidence. So I would say that is a big benefit plus go in with the mindset that what you are doing is completely normal. Lie to yourself and think of it like it's the ten thousandth door you have knocked not the tenth. Treat them like a frightened animal at first. If you are worrying about the other person caught off guard and try to ease the tension for them (Not yourself) it seemed to really calm me. Not saying this is the perfect solution and there may even be faults in that logic. But ultimately for me my biggest hurdle was conquering my nerves. The rest is very easy (for myself). If you dont conquer those nerves you will not make sales and will hate it. Eventually you will just give up on it and not be able to grow
Wow that’s great advice. You’re stepping into someone else’s world. You don’t know what people are dealing with and it’s a reflection of them but not of yourself. Needed to hear that today
Hey Bryan! I watch your videos for at least an hour a day and implement your teachings in my every day life. Recently I started doing cold calls for my husbands distribution company and I can relate so much with what you’re saying here. The entire first day of training was my mind just totally shutting down with insecurities of messing up my script, and just thinking I wasn’t capable of doing it. Mind you, I hadn’t even tried yet. So I took this temporary position in order to start familiarizing myself with this process as I journey into becoming the best real estate agent in my city. Today was my first official day of solo cold calling, and I did 47 thorough, completed calls. By the end of it, I was typing memos and dialing for the next one. What you embrace, will erase. Thanks for all this amazing education! (Your videos along with the millionaire real estate book you recommended!!!) I’m learning about "Models before Creativity" to build my business structure and you’re my foundation!
I shot a video once where I went door knocking but couldn't get out of the car.. It wasn't even the first time for knocking.... The reason to push through.? I've met and gotten listings from both for knocking and cold calling, in fact 90% of my business has always come from this discipline..
The 3 second rule you have spoken in previous videos is my favorite tip of yours too "keep" door knocking and cold calling. 1, 2, 3, knock. 1, 2, 3 call. Such a simple tip, yet amazingly effective. Thank you.
You just earned a subscriber. Had a rough day today and couldn't couldn't get myself to the point of knocking the first door. The last 2 days were incredible knocking then today I froze up
New at this door to door. Thank you for this video and letting me know my action of going home after one error was a normal experience. That was just fear of not being perfect. Not doing it tomorrow! Will keep knocking.
Guys if you still struggle here’s a great tip. I do open houses every Saturday and Sunday. And from Tuesday to Sunday. I knock on doors and initiate the conversation by inviting them to the open house. Brings their resistance down, ask for their name and get the contact info. Works for me and I’m scared just to cold call. Got 2 seller leads my first day
Hey, this is exactly what I needed. I’m new and I’ve really been having a lot of trouble with getting in my own head and completely fucking up my mindset. Those words you said were WISE, man. “If you embrace it, it will be erased.”
Great advice once again BC! Thanks for sharing this solid insight. I have to admit, I was feeling like a door-to-door Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman prior to starting my door knocking. If somebody was crazy rude to me, I would probably chuckle and say "have a great day."
Lots of good wisdom in th is video ! You will want to watch this one over a few times.. Consciousness and awareness are the key to anything in life .. Practice the act and rehearse it in your mind.. and you will be ready when it comes time to act.
Bryan! you're awesome, thank you for your videos. Question. Do you recommend joining a small agency or big agency? I like the team you work for because your able to use the success of your team to back you up when you're talking to potential clients.
Great Video... one question, if you door knock a neighborhood, how often do you door knock the same neighborhood ... or do you? Especially the houses that are not receptive.
Currently taking classes to get my real estate license, and i have been binging on your videos. With the new day and age what do you think about texting leads to eliminate the interuption factor? New research is backing it (Asking not because I dont like to cold call, I just want to use whatever is more effective and pertains results) Pretty sure ill find out myself when i start but wanted to hear some other opinions
Dear Bryan I have an important question. I do door knocking very often thanks to you . I get leads and listing , but I noticed that many leads I schedule appointment for the following day get cancelled by the owner telling me all kinds of crap , just a day before he or she wanted to meet me and sell their house. What can I do to prevent cancellation like that ?
It's like athletes getting nervous before a game, it never goes away, and never will, you just simply understand it and realize it's not something that can stop you.
I've sold Door to Door 12 years. 10 in alarms, and 2-3 in Real Estate. I was top 10 out of 400 agents my first 2 years in RE, and was a presidents club member door knocking alarms every year, and I STILL GET NERVOUS. It doesn't go away, you just learn to master that fear, and make doing the uncomfortable a normal part of your day. There is no better way to grow your business that door knocking. Focus on your goal rather than the activity, and break it down. What I do is I know my average Commission is $5,000 in my market. I know I have to talk to 25 people to get a contract so I pay myself mentally $200 for every person I talk to. That way it makes the task more manageable rather than trying to find that one for $5,000
Any routines regarding d k? In regards of scheduling it... Do you just hop into area and do it, or do you do some research before doing it? Thanks for future response.
We in India have quite diverse cultures and languages. I am a North Indian who had been transferred to South India. I don't understand a word they speak here and it's vice versa too. Still I door knock small businesses after seeing your videos. Thanks BC
So what do you do if you live in places like Canada? where you have 5 months of freezing/cold weather (3 months of temperatures below -10c (14F) and then the other two months under 0c (32f)). As you know, even phones stop working outdoors in seconds with freezing temperatures. I would like to know about your experiences.
