Great project, the door looks great and i feels dumb saying this, but it didn’t look like you over built anything. The door latch is very interesting. Those that don’t know probably would figured it out. Thanks for sharing and looks like Marlee is working out great with her mustang!
Thanks Thom! Yes you are right….it’s more on the minimal side, material wise. So perhaps for once I can say “engineered JUST right”….. versus “over engineered”. 🤪🙏
I love the door latch. I really like the lack of original style door knob, makes one wonder how the H_ll you get in. Hope you don't mind copy cats. I see a use for a side gate I've been procrastinating on installing a latch mechanism.
These are my favorite kinds projects….tinkering and figuring something that might not necessarily be any better….but definitely interesting and unique 🤪
Yes, it’s a valid concern. But if you look into the VHB tape, it’s not just your average double sided sticky tape. It is the same stuff that auto manufacturers use to put body panels on, tour buses, ambulance/fire truck sheet panels. It is also what I used to put the aluminum panels on my travel trailer project. It’ll hold into temps nearing 300 degrees. I know it sounds crazy but I’ve used this on a lot of project and it’s absolutely crazy strong. Stronger than rivets in a lot of cases. But again, I totally understand the concern as it’s hard to believe until you work with it.🤪👍
It's always a pleasure to watch your design implementations and attention to the crafts you use to turn them into reality. There is never a thought about whether to watch your videos or not. The answer is always "Of Course". Thanks Joe.
I considered a spring action mechanism to close the ‘U’ channel but just figured I’d keep it simple as the beveling and adjustment on that 1/2” tubing would require quite a bit of work to get it just right, the way I’d be happy with it.
That is the absolute best clickbait I have ever seen and the video was totally worth it I cannot wait to use that on a project in the future thank you for sharing it
Haha….but you can’t call it clickbait if there isn’t some random chick in a bikini or words like “MOST AMAZING” or “it’ll NEVER be the same again”. 😂🤪🤣 All jokes aside, I’m glad you liked it!!!!😊🙏
Haha….well if you ever see me digging a cave into solid rock and then using a crane to hoist heavy steel beams and a few dozen concrete trucks to pour concrete around an entrance to that cave….THEN you’ll know where I’m storing my gold🤪
Thanks a million, Joe! I'm sure this is probably a great video. I'm not sure yet because I keep rewinding the 1st five seconds. :-) Even had to call my wife in and make her watch it a few times. Got to go now... ...might have to restart one more time. I just Love it! - Frank
Yeah I like the subtlety behind it. Kinda like some geocache hides….it’ll be a fake electrical outlet or something that you have to pull out or twist….always fun to see
Hi Joe 🙋It is a pleasure to enjoy your projects, like this one that is already finished and with that setting that has been incredible on you! God bless your hands friend! I wish you have a wonderful week with your family!
Thank you Henry! I really was planning to add some sort of color…but when I found that song I figured that small splash of blue would be enough ‘pop’ 😂 Bear Down brother👍
Enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent, experience, thoughts and how you accomplish your projects. Blessings to you and your family...☝️🙏🙌
That door framing technique is the same as Bad Chad is using on his latest creation. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EgsjQU9RjmI.html)
Mr. Joe, the door is amazing. I just love the way you have to open and close the door. Love how your creative mind works. Don't worry about making a video, family is first and that is important. You'll get around to it so no worries. Thank you for sharing and God Bless. 🥰💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
That was a classic. Oh and I should not have looked at the Evolution site ;-) That saw is a deal for its abilities! I have a feeling "add to cart" will be selected a few minutes from now..
Thanks for checking it out😊🙏….. and yes, their saws are pretty dang cool! The ability to cut steel accurately without an abrasive wheel and throwing tons of sparks is really awesome!
You might want to clear out a little more space where the latch goes into the door frame. That wood will shift with temperature change and your tolerance looks pretty tight. Good job as always Joe! Enjoyed watching!
It currently is just friction fit down there…. I wanted to give it a couple weeks for that linseed/spirits finish on the bottom to cure. Then maybe some calking or silicone adhesive.
Joe, great video as always. Question, would those plastic type delrin washers work well with it? Do you think it would still need oil or maybe a small bit of lithium grease?
I’m needing to Buy a new table saw is that evolution table saw as good or better than a ryobi or dewalt table saw ? How is the accuracy does the fence wobble at at or the miter gauge?
Well, that will depend on what you’re needing to use it for. If you’d like to be able to cut steel like this one can, absolutely. But if you’re only going to be cutting wood primarily then you might opt for something that is less expensive. As for the fence and miter gauge. Fence has zero wobble and glides nicely. The miter sled is also pretty tight and holds the angle well. I think I will eventually build a large sled that runs in both tracks as that will always be more accurate than a single sided sled. But so far I’m pleased with it.
Right on thank you for getting back to me , keep up the good content 👍🏻 also you should consider making a patreon discussing side hustles or making stuff , ect
I don’t know how much I’ll be able to film during the actual show as I’m going to have to help her and our neighbor girl set up for their performances….but I’m definitely going to show what she will be doing on our little homemade makeshift course. As well as all the other stuff she’s learned too😊👍
Well I sincerely hope I didn’t say something upsetting to you. I was simply being upfront on the nature of receiving the saw for free. It IS compensation, which is why I declared it with the ‘sponsorship’ tag at the beginning of the video as well as disclosing that I received it for free. But I also want to differentiate receiving a product from receiving a monetary payment. Because if I don’t, then many will just assume that I’m receiving additional monetary compensation as well. Which is not true. Free product is great and helpful to a guy who likes to make things. But also is not directly translatable to buying groceries, paying a mortgage, etc,. I’m the sole provider for my family and work as a full time firefighter. My RU-vid videos are just a small part time contribution to my livelihood. And contrary to popular belief, not all folks making RU-vid videos are making large sums of money. Most of us, myself included, are just trying to survive in this increasingly insane world just like everyone else. Anyways, thanks for checking out the video and I hope you have a great rest of the day😊👍
@@homesteadonomics Nope, didn't offend me at all, just interesting to hear all these youtubers say "my review is fair cus I didn't get paid" as they use their new free piece of equipment that is obviously compensation for the review. Not saying you'd be swayed either way, just commenting that just because you didn't get a check as you put it, does not mean you weren't compensated for the review. PS: Not sure what you being a hoze/nozzle monster has to do with it but congrats, I'm LEO.. thank you for your service now get back on your recliner where you belong. LOL (just kidding)
@@Jennifer-007I get what you’re saying…..but I didn’t say anything like what “those other RU-vidrs” are saying. Just a simple disclosure to me explain what I did and did not receive. And the reason I pointed out my profession is to illustrate that I still work for a living and am not a full time video maker that has tons of sponsorships. And about the recliner….I’m not in a recliner right now….BUT I can see one about 25ft away🤪 And on more than one occasion our station recliners have also ‘hosted’ sheriffs and police officers that work in our first dues😉👍
@@homesteadonomics We both know it’s all in fun, besides, the fire hall’s are where I can stop, strip Kevlar and take a potty break in peace. 😉 How can you not love a service that rolls up on scene in their million dollar trucks, everyone jumps out, grabs high pressure hose, sprays all your evidence into the next county then says with the sweetest look on their face “How can we help?”. 😉
@@Jennifer-007oh man….you’re not lying at all🤣😂. We are full grown children on things like that….stepping on this, breaking that, hosing down everything🤦♂️🤪
Thanks for posting this! I'm wondering if you may consider or have already done a video on tools basics and some of the best ones to have. I purchased my first trailer just over a year ago, because I had nowhere else to live. Now I'm a single woman alone in the desert with virtually zero mechanical ability, and have to figure it out for myself. The trailer is a 1984, and probably not habitable- but I'm habitabling it anyway. No indoor running water, and I know better than to tinker with the propane, because I know it can be very dangerous, so I just never turned it on. I do have a handheld electric saw, and a cordless drill, but that's about all... what are the most useful (affordable) tools and brands, and where do I begin if I know I have 2 years or less on the roof (unless I'm able to rally and have an awning put over it)? Everyone has told me not to put much money into it, and I can understand why, though I'd still like to make the most of what I have. Would appreciate info on tools, etc... Unfortunately, I was never taught a single useful thing, because in my fundie family girls just got dolls and cross stitch- learned how to properly set a table. I hope you're able to pass these vital skills on to your daughter- I wish I had someone to teach me.
