But it comes down to intent. We’re her intentions to ‘’Murder” her boyfriend. No, they were not. She pulled a dumb move playing with a handgun but she honestly believed that there was no clip and therefore there were no bullets. Playing with him, she jokingly puts the gun to his head and says “you do t think I’ll shoot? Haha” & unfortunately & unbenounced to her there was one bullet in the chamber. That is where it becomes Manslaughter. She unintentionally killed him, while stupidly goodfing around with a firearm. She’ll get the 5 yrs just like any accidental death.

Right, and saying oh well she was on drugs. Seen many a man go to prison for crimes committed while on drugs. Know of one that got life, for very similar crime that he would not have committed if not on drugs. The whole he was on drugs so not his fault was not even on the table and even his own lawyer would have laughed at him if he suggested it as a defense. Here, it is instant not her fault, wtf.

@@PO-gt7xlthis isn’t my experience. My cousin was stabbed. Multiple times. You can’t even pretend that was an accidental death. But the guy was drunk and they were arguing. Guy got 7 years. He got out early. He already married and had kids. I had one of them in my preschool class. People get pled down all the time. Regardless of gender.

@@Girlofpages notice I said "likely" there are always exceptions to everything, exceptions don't make the majority of reality. I understand people get plead down all the time but she should have been charged with murder and then maybe the courts should have plead it down to manslaughter but she was charged with manslaughter right away, all am saying there is a small chance a men would of been charged with manslaughter based on the same situation if genders were reversed. I've seen many similar stories where men get destroyed in court while women get the benefit of the doubt, but I thought we lived in an equal society where everyone should be treated the same. There are few men (usually rich men) that get light sentences and women that get semi big sentences in similar situations but it's rare. It's usually men getting destroyed in court and women getting sympathy.

I feel like if that were the case, she would've been too distraught and crying over his body when the police showed up, and confessed what happened right away. Yeah I had a lot of conflict with my mother and ended up doing 30 days for a no contact order violation... it did change me for the better I haven't talked to her in ten years and I saw jail is a side of society like school or work except all you do is lay in bed and waste your life. It's scary and I've always been a hard worker so I appreciate the world out here even more. Some guy there had done 25 for manslaughter and was back they were trying to give him another 10 for heroin. I felt kinda bad in the way this guy is like literally never gonna know life

That's premeditated murder followed by instant regret when the consequences dawned upon her after she "You're not dead!" as opposed to "Oh my God I didn't mean to!". Probably couldn't believe what just happened. she thought the gun was empty (still fucking stupid to put it to her bf's head) but didn't understand that one bullet remains in the chamber and was just trying to prank him most likely, but people aren't taught gun safety anymore. Everyone just assumes they know how guns work and then we get situations like this. A lot goes through your head when you panic and I'm sure she was after shooting her bf in the head.

There is a disparity in the legal and criminal justice system for men and women. Women tend to be charged with lesser crimes than men would and they tend to be sentenced to around 1/2 of what men are. Not to mention the disparity in child support/custody/family law cases. Of course, women suffer disparity in other ways and especially in other countries.
