Most importantly, Dorcas’ sponsors have given her the opportunity to go to school - and stay there. “I will continue with my education, but when I was young, I didn’t think I would be able to,” she says. “Now my brothers and sisters, and even the whole community can.”
Dorcas speaks three languages and wants to be a university professor one day. “If I met my sponsor, I would thank them for sponsoring me and for changing my community,” she says. “I feel happy because even now, I think she's thinking of me.”
The kind of change Dorcas is experiencing doesn’t happen overnight. But when it does, it lasts.
