I love the song, just lovely and and i love the the images of autumn. Unfortunatly it's nearly autumn and then winter - on no. We had a terrible summer. I really like this. I have been all day been playing my new cds, another cd arrived today what every girl should know/i have dreamed. Love it !

Those are some talented people !! You know Robert Wise started out doing really low level stuff and worked his way up the ladder. I think in the old days there was a lot of opportunity. In the studio system there were so many people employed its really amazing ! There were certainly pros and cons with that system .... but look at what they produced ! I've been watching Greer Garson movies today and - wow - amazing the movies they made ! Thanks manfread - you're the best !!

It's such a blessing that Terry found these lost recordings - (may he RIP). There just isn't artistry like this anymore. I think I may like Autumn a lot more now because of this video! To think that we may never have heard this, another gem from Doris. Thanks for sharing, Toni. You never cease to amaze me with your talent and impeccable taste. Hi Toni, a great song for a great time of the year... I love what you've put together... Autumn time is always very rainy in The Netherlands but we have the most beautiful colors in the parcs and in our gardens over here. The coloring leaves that fall and all the acorns, chestnuts, fir-cones and beech-nuts lying all around. It gives this period in time something wonderfull I think. Peter Weir is another - started out as a cleaner at one of our local TV stations where he learnt 'lighting and camera angles' so he said in an interview a while ago. Some of his interesting films include, 'Picnic at Hanging Rock,' 'Gallipoli,' 'Witness,' 'The Mosquito Coast,' 'Dead Poets Society' and 'The Truman Show,' but speaking of Robert Wise I've always admired his 'The Sand Pebbles,' and 'The Sound of Music' of course. Doris Day, is by far, the best singer, I have ever heard. I remember when I was growing up, watching her TV show, on CBS, and purchasing her albums. And yet, I have never heard of many of these songs, that you have posted. Thank you so much for doing it. I cannot tell you how much joy they bring me. Her style of singing is classic and will never be duplicated, in today's market. The singers of today, could learn so much from listening to her songs. Thank you so much for posting.

Toni, Several famous film directors began their careers as film editors, one being David Lean, another being Frank Capra. Frankenheimer is probably another, and there are so many more. @Dayniac4324 Her son, Terry, found the recordings in her garage. He produced the album and we have some wonderful songs of Doris' choosing and at just the tempo she liked. Her last album. So sad that she stopped recording. I've posted a few others from this album - Sleepy Lagoon, Street of Dreams and Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries. Terry actually found these recordings in her garage !! Can you imagine ?!? She had ended her Columbia contract and hired an orchestra doing these songs the way she wanted to do them. SLOW ! She said Columbia would just say thats not commercial you can't do that ! I think she knew what she was doing .. I love them.

Sweetie .. When I first saw all the suberb images in this wonderful video - one after another - I was reminded just how much of an artist you have in you. You certainly can 'paint a picture'!! This is such a dreamy Doris Day song - it's amazing to think this album had been forgotten for so long, and would have been a tragedy to lose these songs if not for Terry Melcher finding them in his mom's garage!! But until a moment ago I never heard this poignant song. Can't imagine a finer reading than Doris Day's. @kumhuiguitargirl Well... she recorded around the 800 to 900 range of songs.. so thats a lot of songs to know ! When she recorded this song - she had just ended her Columbia contract. She hired an orchestra and recording studio and did this album herself. She said she was sick of the word "commercial" coming from Columbia. She liked to sing slow tempos and they didn't like that. Then her husband died and the songs from the Love Album were lost until 1993.

cont ! It was the last full album she recorded and it wasn't released for 26 years ! Last year Sony released a cd with several previously unreleased songs and some of her favorites .. making her the oldest person to be in the top 10 in the UK !! Quite something I'd say.
