This video was really well made! Anyways, I'm a current college freshman who's considering transferring to Seton Hall. I go to a huge state school atm, but I now realized that I prefer having smaller class sizes. I'm also considering applying to the nursing program at Seton Hall. How small are your classes typically? And is it easy to ask for help from your professors? Also, how is life on campus (I'm aware that half of the students commute, so is there still some kind of social scene on campus)?
Hey Mari Grace, thanks for stopping by! I enjoy smaller class sizes too :) Nursing classes here are typically pretty small (about 15-20 people max in some of the classes I've taken). These are specific Nursing classes like Health Assessment and Pathophysiology. However, some general prerequisite courses like Anatomy and Microbio have rather large class sizes since everyone in the major learns in a big lecture hall (can have about 100 people). It's also super easy to ask for help from professors, and if their office hours don't work with your schedule, you can always ask them about additional office hours and they are usually more than happy to help. If you still can't make office hours, I'd suggest going to tutoring at the ARC (Academic Resource Center) or TIR (Tutoring in Residence). The ARC has tutoring for most subjects all throughout the day, and TIR typically have tutoring hours during the evening. I've gone to both, and they have helped me so much!! Life on campus is pretty lively on weekdays since there are usually activities to do everyday if you put yourself out there, but on weekends, it can get kind of quiet since it is a commuter school. Good luck with your decision, hope this helps! Please lmk if you have any more questions 💜
Lunar Beauty Hi I’m back! Thanks again so much for answering my questions. Your answers were really helpful and I’m thinking of transferring to SHU for the Fall 2019 semester. Do you know anyone who’s ever transferred into the nursing program as a sophomore? If so, what classes did they take before transferring? I can’t take nursing classes at my current school, but I can take Chem and/or Bio (are these the kinds of classes they took?)
@@marigrace2660 I actually don't know anyone who's transferred into the Nursing program as a sophomore, so I'm afraid I can't help you with that :( But personally, I was required to take Elements of Organic and Biochemistry, and Microbiology. I don't know if you can take these courses at your current school, but if you can, double check with Seton Hall's College of Nursing to see if the credits will transfer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
Yeah the business school is great! We have a high rating, and also the opportunities that you gain here could land you internships in the city. Personally, that's all I know about it because I'm a Nursing major. Other than that, I enjoy my time here at Seton and would recommend it to anyone who seeks a small school with average class sizes.
Thanks for this video :) I’m hoping to go there this fall. I was just wondering if you have any advice or what you did for tuition cost. I’m in California so I’m already going to be spending a lot just to get over there 😅 any good scholarships you recommend? Did you have to take out any loans? Also, do you know anything about the School of Diplomacy there? Like do you usually hear good comments about it? Thanks :)
I am currently a sophomore in this dorm. This video showcases my room at Xavier Hall, which is an upperclassman dorm. There are 2 freshman dorms: Aquinas and Boland. Aquinas has bathrooms in all of its dorm rooms, but Boland does not. If you live in Boland North, you will have bathrooms within the rooms since it is a suite layout. However, Boland South has communal bathrooms, meaning that people who live on that section of the floor all share one public bathroom located in proximal vicinity. Hope this helped! Please feel free to ask any more questions 😊
I'm not sure and don't want to give you any misinformation, so I'd suggest giving the Department of Housing and Residence Life a call. You can reach them at (973) 761-9172. Good luck! :))
