I'm german and watching this channel for 10 months. I didn't know most of these celebreties and the host before. But watching for a few days I was right away friends with all of them. They all must have been very nice people.

Just to let everyone asking about Dorothy know: She is still ALIVE. The lady named Dorothy Zinni who died in 2009 was NOT Dorothy from these episodes. Dorothy and her husband Vince still live in Southern Cal just as they did in 1974. Dorothy from Match Game was 28 in this episode; the deceased lady from Vegas was 42 in 1974.
Yes, there was always a happy, positive vibe coming from the show until Richard was unhappy and wanted off the show and wouldn't smile. I was glad he left. He was a great player but very self centered.

This Match Game fanatic says Dorothy made this episode the best of all. I sure hope she had all her dreams come true. I wish I could have known her because we are about the same age. I would have chased her around in a loving way.

I used to tape the shows off Game Show Network in the late 90s and had this whole week which included these two contestants. She was probably at the top of my silliest contestants list. Glad to see it again here. My copies of these shows are packed away on VHS somewhere. LOL
I hated this show when my parents watched it back in the day. A few years ago, I found reruns on a Game Show channel and it’s hilarious. Back then, I didn’t get any of the jokes and double entendres. Now I binge watch it, even the episodes I’ve already seen.
Gawd, Dorothy….I honestly don’t think I’ve been that enthusiastic or excited about anything in my entire life. We have home videos of us as kids on Christmas morning begging to have more sleep. lol I love it, I hope someday I get that happy about something!

I remember watching this show in the afternoon on TV when I was 5. I’m 50 now and I haven’t seen it since then. When I first saw it I remember observing the strange behaviors, fashion, and music like I was an alien going through an anthropology course. I thought, “Where is Burbank California.” And it still looks exactly as weird to me now. They had glitter yellow stucco on the set, everyone was wearing polyester, you can tell the guitar player was live, and some of the women still have that weird 60s flip do in 1975. The only celebrity I know is Charles Nelson Riley. The wide ties and the plaid, the afros and the big collars. The red headed lady’s bangs are so long, you can’t even see her eyes! And all the women contestants say they are housewives. I especially remember the orange twirling lights at the end that reveal the faces. It’s still like a weird deja vu dream where I’d totally forgotten what I remember from half a century ago.
Same think happened to me. I remember watching this when I was 4-5, but all I remembered was the red circle, green triangle, and the star wheel. 20 years later, I'm very...loaded, and watching GSN one late night. I jumped up and screaming "OMG this is the show!" while my friends were wondering what the hell was wrong with me.
I feel like Dorothy 98% of the time. I remember my mother watching 'secret storm' on the b&w tv. all I remember is that opening scene where the ocean swept over the rocks.
I know she's got some nerves going on but I think it's kind of Awesome showing some enthusiasm like you're on the sidelines of a football game slapping the person next to you when they score or they don't score just saying
'Gosh I can't think of an answer, so I'll just choose 'pass the buck' - how did everyone miss that pun??? Hoping Dorothy was the template for any animated adaptation of a game show.
I've never seen Father Knows Best before; I just started watching it last week (it's REALLY good). Right now I'm on season 2 episode 12. At least NOW I know where the phrase, Dumb Dora came from!
I agree with Gregory .... but I add that's she's "Very Cute" ... and I agree with another comment the if she is still around she would be a fun grandma! I was in my Jr. year of high school when this episode aired and and watched Match Game every chance I could but from what I remember of married women ( with children) they didn't have the energy she had ... because they spent so much time and energy being a mother and wife. Glad I have gotten to watch episodes of Match Game that I missed back then because I would have remembered this lady! Very entertaining to watch how excited she would get. I don't remember where she was from but I'm thinking she's from the South because Southern women will give someone a friendly "punch" on the shoulder when they get excited about something! I had a friend's Mom that did that when she would get excited about something... LOL ! 😄

About a week before she was a contestant she was in the audience and a friend was the contestant. Her friend won and Dorothy jumped up and yelled "I get a free dinner tonight".
