I’m gonna drop you a follow on twitch, you have a discord or something as well? I literally just downloaded this on my Xbox, haven’t opened it yet. Lol I’m super intrigued, but all I know about this so far is episode 1 of dota dragons blood on Netflix(I’m about to start episode 2) buuuttt, seems dope I’m trying to learn how to play🤣
I am a 6-year veteran League of Legends player and coach who is fed up with recent changes. I am a strategy lover and the only thing holding me back from playing Dota2 was the overwhelmingness of some unfamiliar systems. This video allowed me get into the game and start enjoying the wonderful strategy game that Dota2 is, and has changed my gaming career for the better. Thank you sir for all your great work for this community and keep doing what you do!
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment, it means a lot to me! I'm so happy to hear that I've been able to help you, and welcome to the community :)
Hate League of Legends now its so damn cringe' they are making everyone Gay pushing the agenda feminising everything' catering to Koreans and Lil Nas X as their Mascot League is DEAD!!!
@@comedyentertainmentchannel5621 you have got to be the most delusional and 0iq subhuman if you think that having gay characters is what's gonna kill league. you people constantly preach about how nobody cares if a character is gay, yet this is the conclusion that you reached?
@@comedyentertainmentchannel5621 that's not entirely true, but my biggest grudge with League is the hefty amount of damage newer characters deal, the vast amounts of gold the game pumps out to teams and the ridiculous balancing of the game. The game used to have great strategic moments, but those seem to be gone. One missstep by any of the junglers results in the other one completely controlling the game (if they are skilled enough).
This series is wonderful. I've been playing since 2012 and never have I seen such an informative tutorial. I've just got 3 of my friends who have never played just started and I shared this with them.
Thank you so much for these videos. They helped me understand the game when I was still playing unranked and getting reported every game, not understanding basic concepts such as roles and farm priority. 1 year later, I'm 2.5k archon, still learning more and more everyday.
Its a very challenging game, no question. Just don't worry so much about the result of your first 20 games, honestly, and just get in there and have fun. If you're struggling, try Ogre Magi. He's so damn good, and his kit is very beginner friendly. Play him as a position 4 or 5 support.
Finally a good beginners guide to Dota 2, I was looking for something like this cause I was always interested in playing this game. If you could include a deep guide on how to manage your courier and how to do everything that pros do with couriers would be appreciated. I will continue with the other parts and can’t wait to begin the Dota journey, keep the good work my dude.
Thank you for such a comprehensive guide. I’m about to return to DOTA after shifting to League over a decade ago and this is a nice refresher. Even though I mostly remember the stuff from this game it’s nice to re-learn after being in League for a long time.
Thank you for the tutorial. I have been thinking about playing it for more than 2 years but never knew where to learn and start. I think finally I will...
Over the past 2 years I have tried getting into DOTA 2 like 5 times and quit after a day or 2. This time im gonna follow this series and actually try to learn. Good first vid!
I am very new to Mobas and only decided to play Dota because of a friend. This guide is very useful and very easy to understand. Tomorrow I will be playing with my friends and trying to learn the game with them. This guide helped me a lot!
Did you release this because you know everyone is trying new games during quarantine? Because if so, you’re big brain! Thanks anyway, this is great. The visual PowerPoint outclasses any other guide and you have just earned yourself another sub.
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm actually working on episodes 4/5/6 of this series as I type this and I made the choice to go back to the powerpoints for those! I'm glad you find it helpful. And welcome to the community! It's really fun around here :)
Hi. I downloaded DOTA 2 as my first ever MOBA (had to look up the game type xD)! Thank you for making this video. It simplifies everything well enough for me to grasp, and hasn’t overwhelmed me like others I’ve watched. I appreciate it.
after 5 years and I came back I forget how to play and I dunno the mechanics anymore. a lot had changed but thanks to this video I could finally start up again..
Definitely let us know when you get that discord up! The big reason I have difficulty getting into MOBAs is because I basically feel guilty for putting my team through having to deal with a newb w/o having the choice to do so. I'd feel less guilty if someone knew going into it that I will suck xD
After a long, *long* time of playing league, becoming a bittervet, and finally quitting, it's time to bite the bullet and start from scratch with the one moba that isn't throwing itself down a flight of stairs. Thanks for making the transition just a little bit easier!
Thank you for this tutorial series, it's very helpful for players just starting out for the first time. After watching this, I am not lost and overwhelmed anymore :)
Also thank you for making these episodes Alexander. I always suck at MOBA games and with this guide I just got better by alot. Hope you can keep making more episodes on Dota !
Finally a good guide about the game. I remember I play the first Dota but don’t know how to play it so I move to League and now with the changes I can learn how to play Dota 2 and this guide is perfect
Honestly this was very informative. I'm not a newb , but it has been years since I've played . I wish I had a video like this to watch when I first started playing because it would have helped me out a lot as a beginner. I will be watching more as a sort of refresher course.
Im so happy to help! It's a complex game, and even this guide is missing several major changes. Dota is continuously evolving, which is a good thing :)
im still newbie when i last play this in junior high school, and now I'm return, this video was so helpful. Cant wait till my medical studies gives me time to play the game
Tried DOTA, watched some of your videos, update after 10 games: Cool heroes, most of them are point and click however (i mean not much demanding skill shots) but the items are often actives, the game is pretty complicated, characters are cool and it all looks good.... HOWEVER No new players I guess? In every game I play against ppl with MUCH MUCH more experience than me (they often have 400-700 hours) and it is pretty much impossible to learn the game by playing the game as you get stomped every singe time. ALSO no idea why there is no surrender option, some uber lost games take 30 mins of your life bcs enemies are playing with you or you have people dancing on respawn and trolling. Also tons of AFK, but I guess it is common when you have not much games played. Also I'm a lol player but I played a tiny bit of DOTA many years ago and I like it as it reminds me of Warcraft III
I'm sorry that you're experiencing some negativity. Unfortunately that's a little too common, although with the new Overwatch reporting system things are getting better. Thanks for the update, and hopefully your experience continues to improve. Ive heard before that the game matches you as an "average" player when it begins matchmaking. Keep on playing and your matchmaking should be adjusted appropriately over time. They do that so that experienced players aren't incentivized to make new accounts constantly to stomp new players
The hard thing about dota isn't about the skillshots for me, it's the builds. But if youre trying dota again, try it with other people and play bot match to get the game, that's how I did at summer this year haha.
I've watched a few beginner's guide, but still found them hard to understand. Yours is very detailed and structured in a way that suits my learning style. Great job! I feel a little more confident about trying to play.
I’m trying to teach my friend how to play this game, there is so much details here we both get overwhelmed lol, thanks to how well put together your videos are we having a much easier time thanks!
Hey man it's me, not sure if you remember me but this video caught my attention since you only post underlords content. Im an immortal dota 2 player and i find this VERY helpful for new players, hit me up if you need ideas for content
I do remember! I have been talking about doing some Dota 2 Beginners stuff for a long time and I think the time has come. I'm not looking to advise on the 5K MMR bracket or anything... my goal is simply to get people back into Dota 2 and help them get started and having fun. A lot of channels focus in on the hyper-competitive side of things... I'll help people get started and help them get in a groove :)
Haven't played DOTA for yearrsssss but kind of want to pick it up again. Your videos are super helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to explain everything well!
Yo this helped a ton, I hopped into a game like, yesterday and was pretty confused and lost, this'll definitely help me not die immediately, at least not as much lol.
Played dota way back during the beta phase of the game, stopped playing just a month after it had a full release but ive had about a hundred hours clocked in. I got back to the game yesterday and needed this because the game is sooo, soooo, sooo different now. Players are more serious and the game just became a whole lot more complex.
Thank you so much for your videos. Very engaging and well organised lectures. Me being a complete newbie to pc moba had learned quite a lot. Really appreciate your work
Well done with this series @Alexander Coccia I played dota when I was a lot when I was younger and always enjoyed the mechanics of the game. Dota 2 is new for me and I am excited to embark on my Dota 2 journey through this very informative series.
Hey Alex, just thought I'd let you know, Im gonna join you in making content! Your speech about Underlords dying really inspired me and I wanna make some good content for our community as well. Anyways have a good one!
Great vid. I am returning to play DOTA since years of not playing and a lot of things have changed on the map and the game itself. You cover all the basics here for new people so good vid.
I play league of legends and I would like to play both league and dota2 I was already interested In strategy games and Dota 1 back then before I played league(i have a very small experience with dota 1) I am glad I found this and thank you for your effort
i wasted 5k hours of my life for this goddamn game, is it worth it?, hell no, just imagine what productive thing i could do with that 5k hours, if someone read this, remember you can't ever quit dota, once you realize you're addicted, it's already late KEKW
Awesome, I came from a WoW world top 100 background but never bothered with MOBAS until now .I t is awesome that you are discussing the actual mechanics as opposed to PICK X/Y/Z it OP, you are essentially providing the mechanical knowledge players need to improve, great video , subbed.
@Hashtag Sorry to disappoint you but you will need completely different mindset and you will need start from scratch to change from leage to dota if you want that, they are completely different games except they are both mobas and you need to kill main base, back to your question only i can think of somewhat similar to shaco is riki, bounty hounter and techies, shaco is like mix of this heroes, generally maybe bounty hunter or riki is most similar to shaco playstyle but still not same at all as game style is generally very different with these games
@@lucacuneo7218 Fact's I tried dota as a LOL player and LOL only gets complex on the micro level past D1 and then Dota is just overall complicated on both micro and macro.
Thanks a lot Alex, I am just installing this game and thanks to this guide, Dota is going to be my first new game that I will try while knowing the basics. I have always Loved to watch the Dota tournaments but didn't really know the different roles and mechanics of the game and now is the time for me to give this game as much attention as I do to CSGO
Always played Starcraft. Thought I would give MOBA's a shot. I didn't even know where to start. Thanks for this tutorial. You have done a wonderful job.
Started playing Dota this week and the main tutorial is bugged so I just been getting owned not knowing what the hell I should actually be doing.. Thanks man. Really appreciate the in depth tutorial. 💯👌
Previous week I tried to teach a bunch of my students Dota 2. They had fun but damn I forgot that Dota 2 is so complicated. Thank you for this, I appreciate the effort you put in! Great stuff! PS: I let them play with bots and accidently put them on unfair. First 15 min were fun. Then Esther Bot Drow 30-1 KD ruined the lesson lol.
Nice. Just downloaded this game today. Watching this guide on one monitor while the other I'm spectating a match. Cannot wait to learn much more and grind hard at this game. Thank you so much for this!
Wonderful guide video for Dota 2. I am a pretty decent player in league of legends and here I am trying to learn how to play Dota 2. Good guide man keep it up!
I don't know why but this seems a hard lecture class that I can't understand . I usually don't get in studies like maths . I didn't want to learn which I felt hard in games . But I want to learn this game . I have 4 cool siblings and they all played this game . They also spend many $ in this game lol. I need to learn so that I can stay connected with them. here for the first time I doubt myself that I can't understand like in studies 😭. I feel bad
It's ok man, i play Dota 2 since like idk 9 year old until now and still learning it,if you wanna play better just play it over and over again sometimes it makes u angry af,but hey it's better than nothing
Anyone else here to see if they can find a replacement for LoL because the devs have become so narcissistic and clueless about what made the game great that you're looking for a similar game that is good enough to actually invest any time into playing? hahaha.
