Double Dragon is a beat'em up game released by Taito in 1987 for the Arcade rooms.
This is the story of two twin brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee. Their knowledge of the martial arts, combined with the experience of tough urban existence, has made them both formidable fighting machines.
But now the brothers are faced with their greatest challenge ever. Billy's girl Marian has been kidnapped by the Black Warriors, a savage and ruthless street gang led by a mysterious boss.
Using skills gained from a lifetime on the streets, Billy and Jimmy must pursue the gang for a final confrontation with the infamous Black Warriors boss!

It has all the ingredients to succeed: Variety of moves, charismatic characters and the possibility of 2 simultaneously players. Its technical implementation was too demanding for the board it ran on, so it suffered from constant slowdowns. Thanks to the emulator's overclock function, we can eliminate them and enjoy the game in all its splendor. Something that surely will not please all audiences. Uno de los juegos de lucha mas míticos y representativos del género. Posee todos los ingredientes para triunfar: Variedad de golpes, personajes carismáticos y la posibilidad de jugar a dobles. Su realización técnica era demasiado exigente para la placa en la que funcionaba, por lo que adolecía de constantes ralentizaciones. Gracias a la función de overclock del emulador, podemos eliminarlas y disfrutar del juego en todo su esplendor. Cosa que seguramente no agradará a todos los públicos.

Jugué Double Dragon desde que era niña y jamás había visto que Taito fuese la editora del juego, estuve a punto de comentar que ese era un error y que el juego era de Technos hasta que vi la pantalla de título. ¿Se trata de la versión europea?

Exacto, a priori puedes pensar eso y tienes toda la razón. El juego es de Technos pero la distribuidora fuera de Japón fue Taito. En el título de mis videos siempre pongo el distribuidor, no el desarrollador del juego, y como siempre suelo jugar la versión World o Euro, puede dar lugar a confusiones...

@@RetroDanuart Ya veo, siendo yo una niña no tengo ni idea de qué versión habría jugado pero estaba segura de que era de Technos. Aunque yo siempre prefiero que cuando se hable de un juego se mencione a la desarrolladora o bien, a ambas compañías, ya que la primera tiene mucho más mérito que la segunda. Como te había mencionado en otro comentario, mi nombre de usuario viene por el personaje "Janne" del juego "World Heroes" el cuál es el que más he amado en toda mi vida y por eso me molesta mucho que la gente menosprecie y sepulté el trabajo de Alpha Denshi (ADK) diciendo que World Heroes y sus personajes son creación de SNK cuando SNK solo distribuyó los juegos y no tuvo nada que ver en su aspecto creativo. Aunque bueno, ese es un caso especial para mí y normalmente no me afectan ese tipo de errores, entiendo que en tu caso prefieras solo mencionar a la compañía distribuidora.
