No steam on The Fellsman railtour!
Due to the tinder dry conditions and obvious fire risk, Network Rail imposed a steam ban. So taking its place were double headed class 20 'choppers', D8096 and D8107 ( 20096 & 20107), with Inter-City liveried class 47, 47828.
Seen on the return arriving and leaving Warrington Bank Quay.

With the supposed "extreme heat emergency", no electric trains were running either. I know what I'd prefer to be in, nice comfortable Mk 1s that you can open the windows or a stifling Pendolino that's brought the wires down
