Double Overtime Needed in Game Seven of Stars vs Blues 

Let's be honest, after tonight you could say that the St. Louis Blues eliminated the Dallas Stars in game 5 but they needed the next two to eliminate Ben Bishop.

Game 7, May 7th, 7pm, 7th home game 7 in Blues history, Rally towels #7, Winning goal by #7

Blues were the better team throughout the whole game. I feel quite bad for Ben Bishop though, he was incredible tonight. Simply outstanding.

Blues did the exact same thing to my Jets in the elimination game. Obviously we need to give the Blues all the credit.

First time commenting on your videos Shanon. I can say you are one of the best analysts of this sport. I think I speak for all of us when I say you have one of the highest level of integrity of any hockey analysts I know. Thank you for making hockey more fun for us all.

Blues deserved that one plain and simple. Heartbroken but still proud of my Stars who went above my expectations for them this year.

Blues fan here. This game took 20+ years off my life. Worth it. Bishop was a damn wall tonight. I really thought he was gonna steal this game for Dallas. The longer this game went on, the more I felt like Dallas was gonna get a crazy bounce and win this damn game. Still can't find it in my heart to hate Dallas. If they had won this game, I would have wanted them to win it all for Bishop.

The blues ABSOLUTELY dominated. ABSOLUTELY. That being said, Bishop played ABSOLUTELY amazing. ABSOLUTELY. I was rooting for St. Louis but Bishop was so excellent that I wouldn't have been upset If Dallas won just for him. And Dallas ALWAYS looks better shorthanded. Their penalty kill is great. They definitely have that down pat. Dallas looked good in the last 2 minutes of regulation and during most of the OT it at least looked like an even match. But my condolences. Join the club, THG. But at least your Bruins are going to conference finals, hopefully to be annihilated (lol sorry not sorry) by The Jerks. It's been a hell of a ride, THG. A hell of a ride. Craziest and most entertaining playoffs I think I've ever seen, even with my team being swept in the first round.

This series was exactly what I feel like everyone was hoping for with the Stars vs Blues reguardless of who ended up winning tonight. Very good playoff hockey, both teams had alot of heart.

Dallas looked tired and nervous. Bishop was incredible. You sound pretty salty with their effort, but I thought you were outcoached and outworked by a better team most of the series. And, you have to give all the credit to the Blues for this effort and sticking with it for as long as it took to get it done. Binnington was just as good as Bishop when he needed to be.

I can tell you as a Blues fan that I was really nervous. I knew the Blues were dominating but I also knew that 1 fluke goal would make that point moot

I am a huge huge St. Louis Blues fan but this series was two evenly matched teams. Playing a Game 7. Going to Double OT. And Ben Bishop playing where he grew up in St. Louis and playing one of the best games he has ever played. OMG. What a series. Congrats to The Dallas Stars. You. And your fans were all class. My comment is regarding the players who are coming out of STL. Ben Bishop and Patrick Maroon decided this game and are two St. Louis guys. It is nice that NBC mentioned that Maroon is a St. Louis guy, but Dallas media seems to shy away from this fact ( beyond a bizarre Dallas Morning News article before the series.) If two Toronto guys had such a shadow on the series from opposing teams, that would have been the CBC, TSN, ROGERS, etc focal point. There are loads of kids and adults in STL who place them up every day and I think that is the real story tonight.

All of the Stars players need to apologize to Ben Bishop. Seriously. It doesn't have to be public, obviously. But they need to. I called it after game three that the Blues were winning this series, because it's real hard to play from behind all of the time. And that's what the Stars did the entire playoffs. They got away with it against Nashville, but St Louis is an elite team. Congrats to the Blues. This is a devastating loss for the Stars franchise. There's no guarantee they'll have a chance like this again in the Benn/Seguin/radulov era. The Blues own the Stars for the near future.

I’m a 69 year old native of STL. Blues fan since 1968. My 3 favorite photos of our 2019 Stanley Cup win in order: 3). Pietrangelo hoisting The Cup. 2). Bishop and Maroon shaking hands. I love this photo because the Blues cheer squad is skating the City of St. Louis flag in the background. Bishop and Maroon are both from the STL area. As a teenager, thinking I would be the next Glenn Hall or Tony Esposito, those 2 were living my dream. And they are both from my hometown. 1). Bob Plager hoisting the Cup (and yes, I cried profusely at this point). All Blues fans LOVED Bob Plager. PS. I have all 3 photos, lovingly framed, in my den.

The WHOLE dallas team minus bishop was TERRIBLE tonight, benn looked exhausted early and was letting rookie blais walk all over him it was a joke dickinson AWFUL was seguin even playing ? and man oh man dont get me started with ritchie over janmark. Dallas did not deserve to win any part of this game although me being a dallas fan to win so badly. St Louis earned that. Dallas looked like the wildcard team tonight.

In St. Louis today, despite having a home town boy score the winning goal, all that anyone can talk about is just how INCREDIBLE Ben Bishop was in goal last night. The game (and indeed, the series) could have gone either way. Much respect to Dallas, their fierce penalty kill, and Mr. Bishop.

Shannon I cant believe it. I was too scared to watch the game tonight, so instead I turned on Netflix. For whatever reason i have a superstition that if i watch the game the blues lose because its happened twice during round 1. I was looking at updates the whole way throughout the game. I saw the time wind down past the first overtime. The show I was watching finally ended, and this was through some time in the second overtime. I decided to turn on the game because I thought if i was going to watch the blues lose, i wanted to do it with some dignity. I turn on the game and the Blues are at the right faceoff circle in the Stars zone. It's funny because Thomas got the puck and I was thinking: "why didnt you pass to the D?!" He rang it off the post and Maroon went and swiped it in. I cant believe it. I turned the game on for 2 seconds and the Blues scored... #PlayGloria #LGB

Coach said afterwards 'there are a lot of guys playing with some pretty severe injuries" so I can only imagine what everyone is dealing with. Playoff hockey is rough on everyone eh. GG Blues hell of a series, you guys have done a ton to push forward.

I know you were pulling for the Stars, and I respect that. Bishop played his heart out to deliver one of the greatest goaltending performances seen on St. Louis ice since CuJo was in the crease. He was the only reason that game went to over time, and they should just hand him the Vezina now. Winnington had the better team in front of him, and Bishop may have given one of the finest performances I have ever seen in hockey. My heart goes out to all Stars fans. You have the respect of this Blues fan.

Congratulations to the Blues! They deserved it. I feal so sorry for the Dallas team. They gave everything, but had a meltdown. I hope in time they will see they went much further then anyone excpected and are a grate team. They definitly have something to build on. As a norwegian I am a litle proud of the effort of Zuccarello in this series. He had the most points against the Blues and tied with Seguin for the most points in this playoffs. GO BLUES!!!

I agree the blues deserved to win that game as they dominated dallas for most of the game. However, you can't deny that overtime was extremely close and both teams had equally great chances. I'm a bit bitter that after Hintz's wraparound that Schwartz didn't get a penalty to what I tought was blatent interference. I know its not a penalty when the defender can kinda tie up the player away from the puck but Schwartz just smashed Zuccarello before he could try to get at the puck. Other than that, I can't deny St. Louis played absolutely fantastic and Bishop literally stole 3 periods of hockey. Now that my other team is out of the playoffs, il be cheering for St. Louis because they showed me how hard working, determined, and talented they are. Honestly they should be a favourite to win the cup in my opinion.

When I don't come for the hockey I come for the humor and entertainment ... love when you get fired up. Now hopefully you can get wound down to get to sleep.

I just wanted to thank you for switching to titles and thumbnails that don't spoil the game. Other than my Avs I usually watch the games the following morning, and it was annoying trying to avoid the spoilers as RU-vid loves to recommend your videos since I watch so many of them.

The frustration is palpable I wasn't able to watch the whole game (had to go to work when the overtime started) but boy oh boy was it tough to watch I dont have any words just disappointment, as soon as we lost game 6 it was downhill from there. Good luck Blues and good series!

Why do Metroplex teams keep chocking to St. Louis teams? Rangers vs. Cardinals, Stars vs. Blues, Cowboys vs. Rams (sure they're the LA Rams but the spirit is still there) Congrats to Bishop for playing that well 1v5 for 85 minutes and 50 seconds. He better get that Vezina Trophy I swear to god.

Man, Shannon sounded exactly like I did when the Caps played Carolina in game 7. When he said they didn't deserve to win the series I couldn't relate harder, I said the exact same thing in the third period.
