that lens competes really well against the sigma 16mm so good choice 👍 a lot RU-vidrs and creators are switching from ~24mm equiv to 20mm equivs because of how much versatile a slightly wider lens is while not breaching into super ultrawide territory 20mm is a nice focal length for vlogging viltrox 13mm f1.4 is pretty much that for me but something interesting is that with fujis 1.29x movie crop mode i can a 12.9mm so 19.35mm equiv making it weird to carry both lenses with me. it becomes a creative choice between more flare characteristics, depth of field (f1.4 vs f2), filter thread (67mm vs 72mm), and weight/size

super ultrawide isn't something most people are going to want tbh composition is much harder especially when lighting isn't in your control but as of late ultrawide has been trending in the highest levels of DP space alongside 4:3 and I'm so in love with it

I too am struggling with this decision lol. I'm gonna be using them for video while I love the ultra wide of the 10 f2 and much better ca control, the 17 1.4 has a closer focusing distance and better background separation. Plus it's cheaper. 🤔

if you need the low light performance, autofocus & sharpness across the board then 13mm is the move! if you need something that is wider, cheaper, smaller, lighter,, and flare potential then the 10mm is your lens and having 1.29x crop on the 10mm makes the same focal length as the viltrox 13mm the viltrox 13mm has been such a powerhouse of a lens, but i wanted more flare and wider focal lengths because i'm looking to get into music video DPing/directing you also will realize that ibis is a joke for wide angle lenses on fuji, so a gimbal IS needed for smoother shots - for gimbal use, the viltrox would be harder to balance but it has autofocus, the 10mm would be easier but you'll have to stop down and keep your distance the same as you won't be able to control focus I think it's a matter of what you'll be shooting. 13mm is way more normal while 10mm is much more creative because of distortion

@@shuutori but spending 200 bucks more on buying the viltrox will be a joke, as i already compared the viltrox one and it has same side wobble in the sides like the 10mm. btw were you shooting on fuji xt4?

Spending 200 bucks more gives you good autofocus and 1.4 aperture. You have to know what you are aiming for. Also the 10mm (15mm FF) is much wider than 13mm (20mm FF).

HAHA north county truly slept on but thing are getting expensive for sure. SD is #1 most expensive real estate in the country even over LA & NY somehow

@@shuutori certainly has changed a lot in the last 10 years, but as someone who moved to San Luis Obispo and then the Bay area, at least take solace that food in SD is still cheaper down there 🙏

LOL i have wireless lavs and shotgun that i didn't take. its a hassle taking all my gear with me all the time, i do take my camera with me everytime i go out but the only thing i do with it after is practicing color & editing - this just spontaneously became a video since there were only two videos on the 10mm out at the time and i figured i should atleast add to the pool
