Hi. First ever double session and so rewarding & fun. Shout out and thank you so much to Bobby @bobby4990k (IG) for demonstrating proper crouch position. It profoundly changed my typical struggling session and a good start to a break through of balance on the board.
It was also quite a big deal for me to bring the Coleman around (for the first time) - and that was a result on balance on the board. It started to feel really good & natural in the crouched position.
Here is my buddy, Hector’s you tube short of his trying to balance in his new ‪@surfyourskate‬ downhill:

Thanks for watching and see you next video.

Very nice. A couple of points from me. Practice hand drag carving. It’s a great warmup and gets you nice and low over your board. This will help when you start toesides as well. Tuck your back leg more. You want to be in the box position. Third tip, to bring the board back around it helps to be going a bit faster. You are doing well but the slide is killing all the speed so there is minimal momentum left to help you bring the board back to straight. Great progress though

Thank you for comment and improving pointers. Hand drag, tuck back leg more, bring board back around. Next session will be easy 2 of the 3 and work on bringing board around.

@@cantskate5535Not sure if you understand already or not, but just to make sure of it, what Gavin means by "hand drag carving" is a separate exercise where all you do is carve down the hill without sliding (if it gets too fast then do a shutdown slide, but if not, just keep dropping your hand for each and every carve as you snake down the hill without sliding - of course, you can shutdown slide at the end).

@@nickamarit yes and understand-thanks for reinforcing. Actually tried it and was helpful. Something my buddy likes to do and took some good video of him doing it better than me.

Get beefcakes, flatspot skate shop might have them if you can't find them. They'll last waaaay longer.

Wow, dude. You got this! I'm so happy for you. Now slowly try to adjust your back foot position to be just like your friend's. Put the medial side of the outsole down. This will ensure that your weight will be front-biased at all times. You're getting it down in such a short time. I'm so so happy for you, sir. Have fun!

Pause at 1:52. Very nice stance for heelside carves and slides. For positioning and stance for toeside carves and slides, you can (and should) grab rail just in front of your front foot (if you want), and plant your front foot fully but lift your back foot's heel up. Your back foot should be turned inward - almost parallel to the deck.

Thank you. Privilege to have good people to share their skills, including all your comments. Soaking it all and applying it-slowly but surely.

@@cantskate5535 In my comment above, when I say "stance/position", I'm only talking about from the waist down. Cuz if you're: 1. heelside handdrag carving, 2. heelside corner-railing (gripping a corner at speed with arms usually spread like wings), or 3. heelside glovedown sliding (Coleman or predrift), then the shoulders, upper body, arms, and hands will obviously be different.

@@nickamarit thank you for clarifying and makes sense. Will be doing more of that in the future (with intention to video entire hill) and ideally, standing in the future as I progress.

@@cantskate5535 For the handdrag carving exercise, you can definitely pop up to stand between carves if you're comfy enough. In fact, you actually should do so once you're able to.
