Double Surprise Proposal

After finishing a lackluster b'day dinner, my longtime girlfriend is completely unaware that inside of my friend's darkened living room I have ammassed a surprise birthday party full of her good friends and family.
To make the startling surprise work, every single light and cellphone and autofocus sensor has been hidden so the sliding glass door can act as a two-way mirror.
The guests can see out, but Nicole won't be able to see in...
Thanks to everybody who came out on such short notice. On the evite, tears were promised... I'd say we delivered!
Look forward to seeing everybody at next party April 10th!

I think that's what I love about this, too. I love that the party goers were just as surprised that it wasn't just an ordinary birthday party as she was to see all their friends there. I really get a sense of how much these two are loved, and how important their friends are to them. An eternity of happiness to them both.

I was driving down the road a few days ago and this video popped into my head. I come back to it when the lonliness hits hardest: I suppose I am an optimist at heart and a hopeles romantic as well, believeing that love will eventually pass my way again and stop just long enough to see me me wishfully hoping for forever. I pray the two of you are as happily in love now as you were then!!

Dude, a woman that slogs through a "lackluster" birthday meal and very pedestrian errands on her birthday (with no promise of any other known fun plans afterward) and then endures an awkward proposal in the atmosphere of your friend's backyard by answering with, "I never wanted something more in my entire life!", in reference to you -- yeah man, . . . THAT WOMAN IS A KEEPER!!! But then again, you already knew that (hence, why you put her through all that)! The results were worth it. Enjoy cherishing her for the rest of your life and may you both find happiness in continuing to love each other like that!

This my be the best proposal there is after viewing hundreds because well first of all the couple reactions and the way they relate show the true intimacy of their love and then its such a great proposal because so many witness it WITHOUT the bride knowing so she can EASILY be herself and THEN celebrate with all her friends and family THAT acutally witnessed it .. Just Perfect you Stud Great Job !!!!

thanks so much for this comment, it made me really happy that somebody seamed to "get it"... that this was a way to have sort of a private AND public proposal at the same time. We communicate so much so we had talked about marriage quite a bit leading up to this, and so the question wasn't whether or not she would say yes, but how to make the proposal special with her answer being a foregone conclusion. I read it to the bride! She loved it too, thank you for taking the time to write it!

Hi guys, I'm french and I felt in love with Nicole as she so tender, sweet and charming I am terribly jalous of Mike... There is a mistake at the end about the name of the French song of Edith PIAF, this is Mon manège à moi and not Mon ménage à moi... a "manège" is a carrousel for the kids (something which turns..) or a place to educate horses the "ménage" is when you clean the house... But in France if you say "je suis en ménage avec Nicole " it means i am living with Nicole... Superb proposal one of the three best found on RU-vid... Congratulations from France. Claude

Fantastic idea and and awesome job making it happen. That took a TON of planning. And thanks to the family and friends maintaining secrecy and blackout conditions, it came off beautifully. Your lady must've experienced genuine shock and then re-shock! It's obvious she truly loves you and the ring was fairly incidental. Many happy years!
