Purchased a set and then saw your review. I wanted something I could easily pull in and relocate for filtering through traffic. They are very well made and don't look out of place on an adventure bike. Brilliant adjustability. I would recommend these for functionality but may look odd on something that isn't an off road capable bike. I have an Africa Twin so they look fine imho. Recommended.
I love mine on my R1200GS and my wife has them on her bike, a G310GS. In her case, they provided a much better rearward view. Now she sees more than just her shoulders. I’ve never known anyone to have theirs stolen, but good to know there is a solution if desired. I didn’t know that existed.
Lock or no lock, there is always a way to steal them, I always take them off and lock them in my panniers if I am going to be away from my bike for an extended time.
Had mine since I dropped my back on tarmac and smashed a mirror they’re great! I was concerned the mirrors could just be undone and stolen. Got the same locking attachments for me peace of mind
Great stuff. Top advice re the copper slip and yes a bit of locktite. Thanks for this ... couldn’t make my mind up on which one’s to get for my T7 but the ‘adventure’ is the way after your review. Cheers.
Just ordered a pair for my 890 Adventure, £135, ended up buying from Amazon unfortunately. Got 2 security pinlocks direct from RAM mounts, £10 each. MILES better than the OEM ones! Cheers Tony
I think the duke mirrors are the same as the ones I removed? Nothing wrong with those, I was just worried about dropping the bike off road and doing some damage to the controls
Nice review. Had seen these on some other channels and wondered why they were so popular....May consider some for the 850 especially if it's good for vibrations 👍🇬🇧
Thanks. Your video helped. Does the RAM pin lock has any specifications. I mean any particular size I would need to look for. Can you help me with the link to buy one. ? Thanks.
The RAM mount makes them look homemade backyard agricultural. This kit is $130USD. How much are replacement OEM mirrors? Guessing at least double that maybe?
Maybe thats why I like them?! not sure on oem mirrors, but a big reason to fit them is to try and prevent any breakage of the clutch and brake clamps which the mirrors are mounted to
@@mancavemoto Ooooh.. good point! Yes, that will get expensive real quick. BTW, really enjoyed the airfields cruise. You have such interesting history in the UK and as we can't visit this helps get us 'out of the house' :)
I have a similar opinion in how the RAM stuff looks. Not a fan of the weird clamp but my bike is about practicality and how it performs so I’ll have to get used to it 😁
Are mounts available if your bike isn’t sold with mirrors already I have a Honda Crf450Rx road legal and I’m looking to add mirrors great video by the way thank you
I found the answer on your fb facebook.com/groups/1824483411197787/user/543611374/ :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NE_YKVb2970.html Thx!!
Locks are pointless...anyone can just screw them off at the base. BTW you can ft them without the adaptors, just buy an extra clamp from the clutch lever and fit on the brake lever.
True, but it stops the opportunist thief with no tools but anyone determined to steal them will do so whatever. Thanks for the tip. Yep that’s an option but as the adapters are only $5 it’s not too much of an issue I guess?
Ram mount mirrors might be very functional, but my god they’re the ugliest mirrors on the market. Plus they’re silly money for what is essentially less then 50 pence worth of plastic! Just carry a spanner and take your mirrors off if you’re that precious about them or carry a spare set costing all of ten quid with you! Hinged, flip in mirrors for 8.99 a pair from China off eBay for me every time and look great! ...but thank you very much for the time and effort! Over 100 notes for a pair of crap looking mirrors...you need your bumps feeling with a mallet dude! 🤣🤣🤣 Regards, Dazza. 🇬🇧
They are more of a functional rather aesthetic choice for sure, mind you I never really consider the looks of a mirror tbh. Its not the damage to the mirrors per se, its the potential for snapping or breaking the clamp with rigidly fixed mirrors. I've also got extra ram arms for mounting GoPros etc. Horses for courses I guess. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Cheers Tony
