this was a great documentary on the dutch television. I recorded on a VHS tape and played it over and over again. If I recall there was also a part about schoolly D and grandmaster Flash,in his car while hearing KRS on the background.(on the other side of town was a kid named Flash)
What are you talking about. People back then was rapping to earn enough money to leave the housing projects. But they held on to the love towards hiphop and were also doing it, because there wasn't anything else to do.
he's cool i met him...not braggin tho he was talkn bout wats ur super power n everybody is unique n ur own super power makes u unique....he got da super power thing from comics

@idlh Anything is a skill to a certain point. Sports, music, acting, art, etc... You can be good at all those things if you just work hard and dedicate yourself to it. But talent is when you are given the gift to excel at those things without practicing as hard, and everything comes natural. Ppl who work on their beat boxing will be good no doubt, but they probably wont be as any good as Doug E Fresh or Darren Robinson, because they have talent to beatbox.
immortal technique, Lowkey, Rhyme asylum, common, mos def, RA, diabolic, vinnie paz, obvcourse its not dead, its just not on the TV or radio ;) the same goes for all the 90's. AZ, Nas, Mobb deep, The pharcyde, J5, (chali 2na), DITC, smiff n wessun, gangstarr, Rakim, KRS, Big daddy kane, Rass kass, verbal threat. the real shit is still here on youtube. ;)
this is a segment from Big Fun In The Big Town (1986) here's the whole thing, it has almost all the early nyc hiphop pioneers in it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--kSsqWNSQqs.html
I think that argument is valid, but I don't think it is being made in the right direction. It is the record owners who sign these rappers that are to blame.
apathy, celph titled, z-ro. brother ali. atmosphere, ft, would u like more..... rap and reall hip hop is still alive just look underground? natumbotttttt
beatboxing is a skill not a talent anyone can beatbox u just gotta start and practice lol he said it was a gift and i dont mean to disrespect but beatboxing is a skill
Old comment tho but Grunge and Hip hop pulled the uno reverse card on hair metal lmao. Sucks to see a genre that had potential to grow but over saturated it self.
