How is telling the truth, hating. Why are we pretending that race is not a factor. The white house tried to invite the 2nd place team there after losing. When does that happen. When does the loser get an invite to the white house. Nobody is saying that Clark isn't good. America was founded on race, and race is still a massive factor. These are the factors in the insane coverage. Caitlin is Straight, White, Talented, and from Middle America. She represents a demograpic of people not really represented in the WNBA. Aja Wilson isnt' wrong. White people don't want race to be a factor, but it just is. Why continue to lie about it.

Definitely some truth in what you say. We can look back to Larry Bird and how him being White attracted casual fans who didn't care about the NBA, into ones who would watch and root for him. I don't necessarily see anything bad about casual fans wanting to relate to a player in some way. In a way, Larry Bird saved the league, because he gave casual fans a reason to even watch the NBA and had an epic storyline vs. Magic Johnson and the Lakers. I feel like Caitlin Clark is doing the exact thing, which is a good thing for the league, and we can already see many examples. However, race alone doesn't explain the full picture. If it did, then why aren't Kelsey Plum and Sabrina Ionescu just as popular? Both had great college careers, yet they never managed to build anything close to the same kind of fan base as Caitlin has managed to. What about Sue Bird and Diana Taurassi? They have plenty of fans but they never helped pull this amount of hype and viewers to the league. Nope. Nike is a business company, not a nonprofit organization. This means they see Caitlyn's potential and want to support her, but mostly to sell and not lose her to competitors like they lost Stephen Curry. It's great to see the support she's getting, especially as the WNBA is still struggling. Doug. Why do you continue to deny the obvious? Yes. Part of the reason why CC is so overwhelmingly popular is her race. But she is also a very good basketball player which also plays a role in her popularity. Serena Williams wouldn't have been as popular with black people if she were white. Is rooting for someone of your gender and race wrong or racist? Yes and no. Context matters.

The easiest way to explain why Clark seems to be getting more respect from the men would be men only respect others when they see something they can't do themselves. Aja Wilson is an mvpo and a champ and blah blah blah, but Aja Wilson is not doing anything men her size cant do. She is nothing special. Shes a solid "big". She can hoop. But shes not taking step back 3s from 5 feet behind the arc. That is the best way to describe the infatuation with clark. Shes doing things men can't do and that is when you gain REAL respect from the men.

People will laugh with you be polite in your face and then when they are at home reveal their true nature, I have family like that and you probably as well😄. My close family member couldn't stand the attention Clark was getting because of her skin color, like it was so much negativity to where it made me uncomfortable. The crazy thing is I felt like Reese was expericing the same thing during LSU's title run. You mean she got backlash just for doing the same thing Caitlan was doing kinda ridicoulous. These girls just want to be successful and play a sport they love but there are some that want to use that as division for bigger issues. I think people aren't honest about race everyone is and can be triggered at some point because everyone has a ego of not wanting to be seen as less than.

As far as Nike is concerned, they're all about the almighty dollar. And why shouldn't they be? They're in the business of making money. They'll do anything, say anything, concoct stories and invent narratives to keep their products selling. "Don't hate the player, hate the game". And Nike's the best at it. I've never heard these kind of talks in men's sports. Mainly because endorsements are a product of merit. You're great at what you do, you get a shoe deal. Sabrina Ionescu got her signature shoes last year and she was celebrated. Because she is great at what she does. And could we not argue that the same goes for Clark? Not just on the court, but her overall impact on women's bball. Which is massive to say the least.
