@@richardkent2014 so 4 Queens 4 Kings 2 Aces 3 Jacks 13 Cards and other than the aces the others would have to be paired. I see what you're saying. What about the 2 other 10's? Doug could have had one of the two remaining 10s along with a Queen or a King so that would bring it up to 15. Then all of the sets that would be a full house would have beaten him as well. Overall I think the bet sizing by Doug was good. If he had bet more in might have looked more bluffy. The 30 some odd thousand look like he wanted a call. Tom probably thought he had an Ace. Thanks for the reply though. The 13 card thing had me confused, never really seen anyone write it up like that

@nomilknosugar4900
@nomilknosugar4900 20 дней назад
It is a call against someone as capable as Polk, but it is too easy for armchair commentators to say 'such an easy call'. The way the action played out it is very difficult to put Polk on a range: Polk 3-bets pre, checks flop, bets turn big and bets river small. Not many opponents can show-up with enough bluffs here.
@haniotis3421
@haniotis3421 25 дней назад
So he has to be right about 1 in 4 times. Does Doug have him beat over 25% of the time? KT, QT, TT, KK, QQ, JJ, and if we are going to bellow about him having 87s in his range, then we need to acknowledge he'll have 55 in his range....what are all the bluffs? QJ, J9, K9(maybe?), 78s, 65s, but he's not bluffing at same frequency as his value bets...Tough spot for Dwan...how often is Doug bluffing? Do this against micro stakes and they're never folding the JT
@brianpotter2812
@brianpotter2812 23 дня назад
No. I think that when Tom checked the turn Doug pretty much figured the best Tom is going to have is a small pocket pair or maybe a Ten. Doug could have JJ, QQ, KK, QT, KT, AT, or any other Ax hands that beat Tom (he did 3-bet Tom to start with). Tom respects Doug as a poker player, so I think he made the nitty fold for this reason.

When Doug checks back on the flop, he probably doesn't have AK. Doug would bet the flop if he had a 5. When the ace hits the turn, Doug is less likely to have top set or an ace in his hand. The river 5 means nothing because we know Doug doesn't have a 5 in his hand unless he has quads. All this put together plus the price to call equals.....how the fk can Dwan fold to that river bet?
