Before Doug channel hopped from Disney to Nickelodeon. Series creator and artist Jim Jinkins had developed Doug Funnie through doodles during the early days of his career. Doug and his dog Porkchop first appeared in Jinkins' book Doug Got a New Pair of Shoes, which led to his creating an animated pilot titled Doug Can't Dance before pitching it to Nickelodeon for their new lineup of animated programs along with Ren & Stimpy and most notably Rugrats
Hard to believe this DVD set is 10 years old now. It sucks how this never got a retail DVD release in stores and was stuck to only being burn-on-demand via Amazon and even that's discontinued now. At least Nickelodeon's Doug was fortunate enough to get a DVD release at all, whereas Disney's Doug never got any DVD releases, except for the movie.
Looks like you got some One Saturday Morning history on this DVD, even if it is a DVD-R you could order from Amazon in association with Paramount, since the first episodes of Doug were broadcast on Nickelodeon back in the day before the show transitioned to Disney's One Saturday Morning.
