@@xmiyahmarie Right. In the latest house tours, Alicia has older child on the full bottom bunk with the younger child that they are responsible for on the top twin bunk. So that she would not have to take care of any of the children's needs during the night including bed wetting and nightmares. Very few people realize how messed up that is for all the children involved.

She has too many kids in that small house. It amazes me that they were allowed custody of so many kids. James and the older kids have outgrown twin beds. They need at minimum a full size and even that is too small for all but Deyshawn.

I tell my adult kids if they don’t have the money to buy it 3x and still pay their bills, then they need to wait to buy it. A lot of times by the time they can do that they don’t want the item anymore.

Thissss! My son is 19, and he is just now starting to use the same thought process. My 21 yr old daughter, on the other hand, still hasn't seemed to grasp that concept 🤦‍♀️

I learned this super early, only buy necessities and to this day I get super freaked out and start panicking if i have an excess of money. I never had that growing up and so i only really had to think about my budget and what I needed. Now that I'm older I have more money and don't have to buy only necessities but can buy fun stuff. Only problem is I get too scared and think too much about if I'll use it enough to justify the price or if I could put the money to better use. It's absolutely exhausting.

There’s also the will you use it lesson, I grew up better off but when I wanted something I was always asked will I use it more than once, and I ask myself it even before just putting something in a wish list

I’m 63 and have a child who has worked for Apple for 15 years. I have had 1 new phone. My current phone is 5 yrs old. Daughter passes her used phone to me I pass to Hubby and send back the oldest phone for credit. I’m 63 and it will be years before the I Phone 14 comes to me. My phone works fine and I use it for everything as does Hubby. No child needs a new phone. Especially as young as her kids are.

Right. I think about her broken septic system. The truckloads of disposable dishes are expensive. The mountains of bottled water that cost money. The trips to the laundry mat where she spends thousands of dollars. The wasteful hauls of junk food every day. The over the top birthdays where she already purchased the older children new phones this year. The purchase of Halloween costumes that were not worn. All that waste and she still cannot afford to replace the broken septic system.

When a home functions well, the whole family benefits. There are more important things than materialistic stuff that they'll be tired of, break, or outgrow in 6 months.

So what will happen to those phones in the hands of such young kids? I was taught to look after my stuff at a young age. These kids don't look after their stuff.
