Two comedians, one an immigrant from Russia, interviewing a gay Conservative on a RU-vid chat show, In a world of non stop media, and, it's one of the best sources of a sane voice and information.
@LordMacKarl it is totally irrelevant. The irony is that it's two "minorities" speaking the truth, yet the left would have you believe they should be oppressed.
“Don’t join the crowd, don’t do what the mob demands, be that woman, ...she probably didn’t know she was a hero” That’s bloody good stuff; got emotional listening to it!
I'm just starting this interview, but he wasn't referring to the lady being surrounded &shouted down by the BLM mob for not raising a fist while dining, is he? If so, she just wrote a WaPo article saying she still supports BLM & - even though she was in fear that night - she felt incredibly hopeful looking at the young diverse crowd working together for BLM bc what happened to Jacob Blake recently (the rapist who resisted &was shot by cops when grabbing his knife) was wrong &they should be angry🙄 So, she was a hero for about 5seconds - then she opened her mouth. Lol
@@lizp5004 Could be a "Don't Hurt Me" article - pretty much like the stores that place support cards on their windows in hopes the rioters won't destroy their businesses. One thing is to be an anonymous person on the street in a moment of bravery, another is being identified by a newspaper and exposed, therefore having to choose between being brave 24/7 and risking the well-being of loved ones, or cave in and pretend to support the madness.
I feel the same way. The grim look he gets on his face during this interview is quietly horrifying. I have a metric ton of respect for this man after having read some of his work and seeing his talks and interviews. Very dire, indeed.
And the rest of us are relying on YOU to calmly help the rest of your generation into the light of the TRUTH. YOU ARE OUR FUTURE, we despair at what we see. We ask ourselves, IS THIS what we worked all our lives and our parents DIED to defend? Please try to do what you can, in a dignified way, to educate your peers, in the hope that they may wake up from this CULT. Ironic, that WOKE once meant, waking from a cult belief. Now it means the opposite. Its comforting to know that the younger generation aren't completely lost to us. 😊🥰🥰🥰
@@JS67137 well, coming from a dominant socialist mining area of the north of England, I feel your pain. I never had socialist views. But was utterly surrounded by those who did pretty much all my life. The ability to express your views cones more from just living and learning over the years, than from education. Dyed in the wool socialists will NOT change their views readily. They will find ANY WAY to blame the government if its a tory one, and when you point out, during a laboyr one, what's going wrong, they simply blame the previous tory government lol. Socialism is a kind of fanaticism. And you know that you cannot reason with a fanatic. Their position is an emotional one. For me, the best way was always.... I want the opportunity to do as much as I can in this life, dont you? I want to work for the things I would like to have, a secure home, a family, dont you? And lastly, I want the opportunity to create new ideas - maybe for my own business. Wouldn't you like that? What ive just described to you is not possible under socialism. Its a capitalist dream. But I dont want to work my fingers to the bone to feed some greedy beaurocrat who will live in the secure house with their family while I work. That is socialism in reality. The ideal of socialism is actually a good one. Its a kind of utopia where everyone is equal, avoiding any jealousy of our neighbours. Its one where the strong protect the weak, everyone is taken care of. No one is left behind. The reality of socialism is very far from the dream. Socialism makes no calculation for the greedy, the evil, the corrupt, the criminals. Socialism just hopes they'll all become model citizens, but they don't. Wgat usually happens is they get into positions of power, and the rest of us suffer. The rich leave the country, thet can, because they are rich. So no taxes from the rich, so middle earners get hit. They stop spending, they stop going out socially. So the leisure industry takes a hit and lays people off. More unemployed. Then they tax the poorest in society. So thr promise of a living wage fades into the distance, inflation rises,so food becomes unaffordable. Its normally around this time that the people decide they've had enough misery and elect a tory government who lower taxes to bring back the rich. They create jobs. And the cycle is reversed. But socialists will only talk about emotive subjects. Its more about feelings than facts. They feel they are more in control under socialism. Nothing could be further from the truth but they won't believe you. One thing I can assure you of though.... once they OWN something they've had to work hard for years to pay for, they tend to change their view. Thats why there are fewer socialists in older generations. 😊 Hope that helps. .
Never stop educating your peers with the truth, no matter how unpopular it is. Stay collected and learn something from Douglas Murray's expression- the world is terrifying to the wise, come to terms with that worry as your future. If ignorance is bliss, then in what emotional state are we?
Morgan take heart they will grow up eventually ( voluntary or not ) concentrate on yourself and the people you love. There will always be idiots out there.
Yeah for sure he's not as smart as peterson or Harris but peterson at times is almost inaccessible, his thought is so profound and predicated on the listener having a huge depth of knowledge, I have three degrees including philosophy and history and I have to reslisten and pay very close attention, he's out of reach of at least 70% of the population and Harris although very concise is thoroughly dislikable, Douglas covers the same matters but is personable and accessible
@davy boy LMAO ... you misinterpreted everything said in that debate ... in point of fact it was the mod Murray who destroyed Harris on this very point about religion and metaphorical truths that are useful ( e.g. religion ) , people's need for them, and their importance. To recap for you, Harris asked this Q, which he shouldn't have because he didn't know the answer in advance ( always a problem in a debate ;0) : "Q to JBP: What evidence to do you have for the claim that religion ( metaphorical truth ) is something humans inherently seek out and require." They had been sparring over this boring basic Q about "what is truth" for some time , making no headway and so a somewhat exasperated mod Murray, sensing a clearly disingenuous Q immediately pipes in with this Q that is delivered in that way witty way only DM can : " well Sam , I see evidence every day when I read the newspaper headlines. Evidence of younger generations , raised with no religious beliefs, adopting a new form of "religion" every day." That was followed by a silence from Harris while he made silent fish out of water gulping for air sounds.... then the crowd applauded. Because it was THE OBVIOUS TRUTH. Everyone in the room knew it, including Harris. In that moment Murray had defended JBPs positoon more clearly and concisely than JBP ever has. Harris lost that debate in that moment where the core weakness of his rational materialist philosophy was exposed , and he knew it.
@davy boy strawman of JBPs position. Try again and a suggestion ( not only for you but all you materialists , who I find collectively on average have a hugely inflated sense of their ntelligence and ability to actually use logic ) ... Try to be more humble, specifically by starting conversations from a mental position that does not assume you know more about everything than the person oposite you. From a position that there might be something to be learned and gleaned from them. You seem to be half admitting that Murray's point in that debate was correct and decisive ? If you can fully admit that ... then perhaps you have started to enter that more humble mental frame of mind ... if not, you will remain misguided until you do. Murray is 10X more impressive than SH BTW. And whike to some extent that's my opinion ... the comments under both their vids , which are largely both a very educated and cerebral audience , would seem to back mybopinion up. DM gets much more widespread and universal plaudits. He's also a far better and more prolific writer So if you are going to cite or quote someone ... lean to the more golden standard.
@Brent Freshour really ? And your basing that statememt on what ? The one example from mid 30's germany ? We are supposed to learn from history ... not repeat it.

@@giuliakhawaja7929 Indeed. He wrote 1984 in 1949 which is well after the Spanish Civil War and more importantly after WW2. He came to understand what Totalitrainism meant and also what the Soviet Union and Communism meant, which was Totalitrainism. The fact that he fought for the Communists during the Spanish Civil War is irrelevant as the cause was just and he obviously woke up to what Marxism leads towards. Either way Facism and Marxism are both forms of extreme collectivism as was Imperial Japan. People on the stereotypical Left have all the psychological and personality attributes that predispose them to go into media, journalism, i.e. verbal professions. With that comes their social and cultural power. The people of similar profile also care much more about issues related to culture and society. But this period in the history may hopefully be a wake-up call for those who would otherwise never cared about the Woke and would be focusing on business, finance, economics, engineering etc. We all should want that people with more conservative outlook focus on these issues because it would balance the Woke ish, but also the cultural and social development in general as well.
@davy boy Is he always right about the money though? I agree with Murray on his criticism of radical Islam or woke. But his pro Brexit stance is as deluded as the one of the other Brexiteers - who are also heavily featured in the so called MSM. So therefore...
@davy boy If you look at the studies austerity was the main reason to leave the EU. Which had nothing to do with the EU but the sovereign government of the UK. The Tories are in government and imposed austerity. Also I don't get the whole immigration thing. Muslims come from third countries. Every EU country can deal with them as they see fit. So another thing the Tories are to blame for and not the EU at all. Right now, as the UK is de facto still an EU member, it is btw France who keeps aliens to the UK out. This will change with the 1st of January 2021. For every reason to stay a reason to leave? Maybe. But then you need to explain what the benefit of leave will be.
@davy boy Again: If you enter from a country outside of the EU, EVERY country impose their OWN measurements. This has nothing to do with the EU except maybe the fact that as a international community you could protect the shared borders better. It would certainly help more to have an actual EU border in the south and southeast were most migrants come through. Besides that, I just advise caution. Yes, Sweden and also Germany (where I'm from) have problems with legal as well as illegal immigration. But don't believe every shit you read on the internet. 50 no go zones in Sweden? That's another right-wing bubble myth: "Although international media often report that Sweden has so-called "no-go zones", police and emergency services have repeatedly rejected this claim, arguing that the vulnerable areas actually have a higher police presence, if anything." (www.thelocal.se/20190603/sweden-vulnerable-areas-decrease-positive-trends-police). I live in Hamburg right now, I also have to read about No go zones here. Turns out that this is also bonkers. Of course there are zones with problems but not in the grand scale and in a connection with the migrant crisis of 2015 as many filter bubble nonsense in the internet makes it out to be.
@davy boy One of the policies of the EU is the Barcelona declaration 1995 designed to completely "Islamise" Europe .The EU was never designed to unite Europe it was designed to destroy Europe.
I've noticed there seems to be two major camps of artists: 1) the artists who infuse politics in all their art, are obsessed with gender pronouns, tend do use drugs as inspiration, tend be hyper critical of all the problems with capitalism while ignoring the problems with communism (or any other ism), and then there's the other camp 2) the artists who are less political, more focused on the craft, more focused on self-improvement and creating a viable business out of their craft, either as working solo from home or as part of a team in a studio.

I've found many youngsters (20s) don't know anything about Communism and the communist regimes. As someone who lived through the Cold War, it's a remarkable memory hole.
The first mass photos sent to the west of the Soviet gulags were not until 1995 or so. I grew up in this period as a child - onward to h.s. I heard about the Nazi's every year as pure evil. Never a mention of communism.
Ha! In fact, universities and pop culture have created a romantic image of communism. many of the young 20 something years olds and even people in their 30s think that it is some sort of a cool society where most people lived free of worries and it was the imperialist America that destroyed the utopia.
One has to literally read books we may find out about from the brighter minds we hear speak in the e-media. The best books eg. on Stalinism and the Holocaust I've read were found from following other people and topics. I learned more from a half dozen books than five years of high school, at least in the big picture of things concerning humanity and the lies which with we are constantly hypnotized. It's not pretty but it's worth looking at.
If 20-30 yr olds don't know about Tianamen Square, what do they think the student protests in Hong Kong are all about? This is young people in HK who understand what communist authoritarianism means, this is going on now, so there is no excuse for ignorance. In 1970s 25% of Cambodians died under the Khmer Rouge!!
Well, If you lived through the 80ies you still remember the cold war, the horror stories constantly leaking out of east germany and things like that, or how eager the entire eastern half of europe were to rid themselves of communism and embrace democracy in the early 90ies (with varying levels of success). In schools you were still learning about Mao's "great leap forward" (into mass starvation and near economic collapse), and the "cultural revolution" (let's just completely wipe out or own cultural heritage, and then replace it with medical quackery a decade later) or the evils of Stalin. I don't know what happened to the education, but in the later 90ies certainly communism had dissapeared from the radar. It's hard to believe the myth when you live next door to reality and are constantly reminded about it when reading a newspaper. But now when communism, even in so called communist countries, has been dead for decades, it's much easier to buy into utopian myths about it.
Douglas is always interesting to listen to, and how refreshing is it to hear an interview where the host let the subject speak instead of looking for that gotcha moment ?

Why would you expect them to know who Pol Pot is? He carried out his reign of fear in the 70s after the Americans left Vietnam. Eastern European here. The swastika is rightly banned in EU. So when we joined we Hungarians, Poles etc asked for EU to ban hammer and sickle too. But Western EU did not let it. Even today Strassburg keeps cancelling local bans on it. Just for you to know.
Swastika associated with Nazis is actually Christian HakenCruz! Swastika symbol is too pious to be degraded like this. Christians writer associated the evil of Hitler on an ancient symbol, but he was inspired by solving the Final Problem of Christianity. And that is why he adopted the HakenKruz as the party symbol. Research more and find the Truth.
@@VineetKumar-vi6cu It is spelled Hakenkreuz. Germans don´t call it swastika , that is an anglo thing. It is a depiction of Thor´s spinning hammer . Apparently you need to do some research.

It is too late for that, In the sixties, these commie converts were brainwashed and now they are in charge, hence the reason why we have both sides preaching from the same hymm sheet.
I think Dave Rubin summed up Wokism today: "There is nothing too stupid for this movement". I'd also add to that, there's nothing too debased for this movement to support.
Greetings from Poland! Always a great time listening mr Murray. In my country covid seems to be less deadly... luckily for us. Douglas Murray is one of the treasures of our time in terms of his ability to think and express his interpretation of the times, and to make sense of them.
“There was one woman in one of those videos who doesn't do it and the whole damn mob is around her screaming at her to do it, and she won't. Be that woman. Be THAT person. Do not join the crowd. Do not do what the mob demands. Be that woman. Doesn't matter what the mob demands. It matters less what the mob demands than that you do not do what the mob says...That woman may not have known that she was that sort of person She may not have known that she had the heroic quality needed, and it is heroic, to say, 'No I will not join the madness of the crowd; I will remain a human being with my own sense of dignity and my own sense of self worth and you will not demoralize me because I know that if I do this you will demand that I will do something next.'” I have been challenged. And encouraged, because I think this quality not to bow to the mob is what has drawn most of the viewers to this channel.
It's difficult to demand unreasonable compliance without bullying, and at a certain point bullying becomes too embarrassing and self evident to go on. That unreasonable compliance is saying 'agree with X' without our all looking clearly and honestly what X is, what the website or actual policy of X shows that it is, etc. You can't agree without knowing what or why. Anyway it's all acting under duress which defeats the action... raise fist is no win.
I'm upset I have to wait 2 hours. I respect douglas. Shit even if I would disagree with some of the stuff he says. I respect him. I respect the podcast for having him on. Douglas is both a wise and formidable speaker. He.... It appears just as Jordan Peterson.....to be a cheerleader for the good natures in the human soul. An advocate for being human.
What exactly do you expect of Murray? The interlectuals tell the people what is going on, hence the reason why said people are the first to be taken out by the leftist of Germany and Russia et al. 0 interest rates is the logical financial extension of the no consequences western society we have built for ourselves. If course borrowing money should have a consequence / pain to it, which motivates one to get rid of the pain as quickly as possible and not encounter it again ( by living within means and saving for things first before buying them ). That IS what interest is meant to be, a motivator for good societal behavior and a deterent for bad.

As an American over 60, I am always thoughtful of my parents and all before them that had great challenges to face and am appreciative of how far we have come. We have plenty of problems still to solve. Most of the unrest in USA is coming from stupid miscreants who crave violence, money, and fame or stupid activists that are clueless as to how to really make anything better so they create diversions from their incompetence, like D'Angelo. My newspaper's main editorial Sunday said we should plant a tree to help cure systemic racism. Sad that is all they can think of to help. Love you guys.

Douglas Murray has rapidly become one of the most important voices in the cultural debate -- even more so now with the death of Roger Scruton. I can listen to this man speak for hours, and my attention never wavers.
It's so depressing to hear this discussion break down to discussions of 'left' and 'right'. Hitler was a Socialist, Mussolini was a Fascist. Hitler said so himself, he enacted socialist policy and he espoused Socialist principles. He hated Marxism. Marxism is Socialism along class lines, National Socialism is Socialism along race lines. It was the Soviets who rechristened him as a Fascist to draw a distinction with their own Socialism that was moving away from class splits to a National Socialism of their own. Socialism and Fascism are almost identical as both require a dictatorship. Talk about 'left' and 'right' ignores this basic fact. The classic dichotomy in politics is Conservatism vs Liberalism. We know what Conservatism looks like when pushed too far (go back to the Tories and the Whigs and the Corn Laws). What we don't know (but are finding out) is what Liberalism looks like when pushed too far. It appears to look like the blithe acceptance of every silly idea and activist group. What we are seeing is a new form of National Socialism in the BLM movement. Truly, they are the new Nazis.
Alex Ogle Problem: is there a ‘too far’ with conservatism? It isn’t an ideology, it’s a reflection of personality traits that seek to maintain an orderly status quo. Liberalism is primarily correlated with trait openness to experience i.e. change. The world is liberal as it is in a state of constant progression forwards adapting to changing conditions. So you could say maybe ‘too far’ on the conservative end is stagnation and death, and too far on the liberal end would be instability, chaos and death. It’s a circle. Both lead to the same place.
To elaborate my point about both Socialism and Fascism requiring a dictatorship. Fascism is obvious as the state takes control. Marxism requires a dictatorship of the proletariat (as Marx states in his Communist Manifesto). National Socialism requires a racial dictatorship - Hitler wanted it to be the Aryan race, BLM want it to be the blacks. Marx also stated that he thought that Socialism would then 'automatically' shed the need for the dictatorship and become self-sufficient. In fact, over time, greater reliance on Central Committees to enforce the revolution took it down the path of Fascism. We must stop evaluating people by skin colour. Robin d'Angelo must be taken at face value: she states she is a racist and we must accept that as the truth. Therefore, her solutions to racism can be ignored.
Douglas you are true caring gentleman. The world would have become better place, if there many men like you. You are cultured sophisticated refined intelligent man. I do admire you and I am lucky to get to know a man like you. Love you so much❤
Hi there. Have you listened to many of them? I've seen several, but I'm not (yet) a collector, so to speak. What about this one makes you feel this is the best as opposed to others?
This was a great interview. Douglass really tells it like it is. The interviewers really let him speak too, which is a breath of fresh air (a lot of podcasts and talks have an issue with this - not these guys specifically).
This is a very good conversation. But as a Brit I think it misses one important element. Regarding BLM, the obvious question is: WTF has the death of a black guy in America got to do with anyone in Britain or Europe? Answer: Basically nothing. But given the reaction to George Floyd's death, you'd think England, France, Germany or wherever were all American states. Same with slavery. Our respective histories regarding slavery, immigration, race relations, integration etc etc are *very, very different* to that of the US. The point being: US politics is affecting us in ways it never did before, mainly due to social media. Twitter, Facebook, RU-vid etc. have turned us Europeans into neurotic, imitation Americans. It's nuts. And it's really not helping.
True, but it's deeper than that: the whole narrative makes NO sense at all even solely from an American perspective. The American police are NOT racist, American society is NOT racist, and the majority of the white population of the country (the northern states) died in their hundreds of thousands in a civil war fought mainly over the slavery issue. Every ethnic group and "race" on Earth had practiced slavery since the dawn of history: it was not until the countries of Europe, particularly Britain but also the United States, rejected slavery, and then forced other societies in Africa and Asia to ban slavery, that this evil practice came to an end. Far from attacking white people as racists, they should be hailing them as their saviours! (Just for your info, I'm married to a non-white woman and we have a mixed-race son. I couldn't give a damn about my ancestors' DNA.)
Toby - sort of valid, and neither does Canada have the black racism of the US but we have some of the most awful reps of the movement. But expecting rational coherence of a movement that canonized George Floyd as a saint never a sinner (HAAH!) well your expectations of these activists far surpass the sad unfortunate reality. These activists are actively destructive to their own civilization & everything good gained by centuries of progress as a short term power grab.
@@DieFlabbergast Basically agree. It's still very odd to see people in the UK basically swallowing US ideas wholesale - nonsense or otherwise. It's like we've lost any sense of our own identity. Can't we even come up with our own nonsense any more?
