I learned this beautiful song when I lived in Galway, Ireland for 11 years. Now, back in Germany, I have performed it a few times with my own Galway Girl Laura. And for the past few months, this has been a standard lullaby for our 5-months-old half Irish-half-German daughter Tara. One of the most beautifully sentimental songs I have the fortune to know. Beautiful performance, too!

This is THE best version of this beautiful song, for me. I hate it when opera singers take it on, it changes the whole context of the song! It's an Irish folk song and only singers like Maura can give it creedence. IMHO...So gorgeous thank you for posting.
